Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news THE SEQUEL

This is the one where the news remains dull, and all the irons you bought in the last thread have developed limescale.

I had a slice of toast and now I feel a bit sick. It must be because I am low carbing. The toast was worth it though,it was slightly cold and hard so the butter went on the way it used to in a 1990s B&B.

I ordered a wheelbarrow. It came today.

I broke a tooth yesterday.
My dentist is not seeing anyone.
The receptionist suggested buying a temporary filling kit, so I'm going to have fun putting that in after tea ...

Lazysundayafternoons · 07/09/2020 17:38

I'm facing an extremely dull evening of reading over accounting standards in case i get asked about them in an interview in the morning

Tinacollada · 07/09/2020 17:45

I nearly brought an umbrella out with me this afternoon. But risking it all, i left it at home

Spudlet · 07/09/2020 17:46

I’ve just worked out how to fold up the trailer bike, although not before I’d bashed myself on the leg with the pedal. It’s all safely put away now.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 07/09/2020 17:47

That reminds me - I need to rebook my filling. I had to cancel the appointment because I was ill and on ABs.

DH needed a voice recorder for lectures etc. - it arrived today. Guess who has to explain it to him.

Jemimatheragdoll · 07/09/2020 18:41

After a lovely day out yesterday, today has involved shopping, washing, ironing and changing the bedding. Now contemplating putting on my pj's and winter dressing gown as it's so cold.

Going to work tomorrow so that should liven things up 🤣

Blingismything · 07/09/2020 18:45

Tried to put some bags in to a clothes bank but the three I tried were full to the brim.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 07/09/2020 19:30

I am sitting here having one ear / eye towards NDN. They are supposed to come home tonight, but they are flying in from Greece - if they are delayed, I need to feed the cats again in the morning.

MutteringDarkly · 07/09/2020 20:21

I've had a lovely day but I will make it sound as unexciting as I can:

School went back today so I ordered a bottle of chocolate milk for DC to bring in from the doorstep. It worked well as a distraction from quite how early the alarm went off.

I used to be able to run for over half an hour fairly comfortably. I have had to start Cto5k again almost from the beginning after 6 months of lockdown immobility. But it was nice to jog with a new friend through the fields (for clarity, did not find the new friend in the fields during the jog).

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 07/09/2020 20:23

I can report that NDN have arrived.

BettyFilous · 07/09/2020 20:25

DH sent DS2 to school with my packed lunch today. My delicious sandwiches came home lightly mauled but uneaten. I had to eat DS2’s boring sandwiches at work instead of my own delicious ones. 😞 First world problem, I know, but this thread is all about life’s small pleasures and disappointments.

Champagneforeveryone · 07/09/2020 20:32

We went to Sainsbury's today and DH got some new pyjamas.

He's extremely pleased with them and I keep catching him either stroking his thigh or preening in the mirror.

WouldBeGood · 07/09/2020 20:36

@BettyFilous that would be so disappointing!

FawnDrench · 07/09/2020 20:59

This is post number 990 so only 10 left on this thread.

MotherofMigraines · 07/09/2020 20:59

I had a text telling me my Decathalon order was ready to collect.
I was surprised as I haven't ordered anything from Decathalon.

ReallySpicyCurry · 07/09/2020 21:01

I've created a new thread but can't link it because I'm a twat. Please gently amble across when you're ready, plenty of time, nothing to see here..

@sueelleker it's in date dried fast blend yeast. I made another loaf today, which would have been fine had I not let it prove for quite so long on it's final prove. I was shopping for my ds's birthday tomorrow and bought a Turkish towel to try out.
I saw some exciting things on my walk to the supermarket, but I can't share them here as they would be far too exciting, and might tip some people over on the excitement stakes Grin

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 07/09/2020 21:11

@Prokupatuscrakedatus

I can report that NDN have arrived.

That's good. I hope they had a nice holiday, and thanked you for looking after their cat Smile

DC1 went back to school today and DC2 will go tomorrow. It's a relief to get back to some normality.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 07/09/2020 21:15

I see the new thread has six posts on it already. I hope people aren't getting carried away or giddy with the newness of it!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 07/09/2020 21:28

Millenium
They always do and we love the cats. The younger is a litter mate of our late Sev.

boatyardblues · 07/09/2020 22:03

I checked the forecast before I left for work today. It said dry/sunny all day. I took my raincoat to be on the safe side. It rained for the whole of my walk home. I was glad I took a coat.

WouldBeGood · 07/09/2020 22:05

I was pleased to see there’s a new series of Better Things on so am watching that.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 28/11/2025 00:07
