Just been browsing rightmove, looks innocuous from the outside.

the permanent decor isn’t that bad

I agree. Pretty much all of the personal touches would be going with the current owners.

SoupDragon · 18/07/2020 12:05

@Gingernaut The car bubbles have been explained. The cars are worth a fortune.

Keepitup · 18/07/2020 12:06

Imagine having a stuffed polar bear or a hanging giraffe? My mind is boggled. They obviously love James Bond though.

torthecatlady · 18/07/2020 12:08

@Councilworker

It's like TK Maxx 'objet d'art' section vommed across the house. Now I know where all the weird ornaments go
You couldn't be more right!
TheDogsMother · 18/07/2020 12:09

Wow mind blowing isn't. Loved @Councilworker comment. This is exactly T K Maxx objet's section 😂

I bet those lights come to life in the night! Shock

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 18/07/2020 12:11

Not this house at all, obviously, as the house itself is amazing; but thinking about it, if Rightmove styles itself as the site for aspiring people to find their next dream home, shouldn't there be an oppositely-minded site to warn you of the ghastly places you could end up in if you don't concentrate at school, work hard and abide by the law? Any suggestions as to a name? Is shitemove.com already taken?

I’d also love to know where there are moving to and why???

FabulouslyFab · 18/07/2020 12:11

They are - not there 🤦‍♀️

anon444877 · 18/07/2020 12:17

Nouveau Riche is nothing new - jilly Cooper is full of self made men ripping the guts out of rambling cotswold piles.

Right, off to buy lottery ticket!

winterisstillcoming · 18/07/2020 12:19

The owners obviously are too rich to give a shit. Good for them. I do like the paint colour in the bedroom but that's about it.

tectonicplates · 18/07/2020 12:19

I definitely think of you moved all the items out the house it would be really nice, and you wouldn't need to redecorate very much.

SerenityNowwwww · 18/07/2020 12:20

I wonder if the photos on the walls are of them/family or if they came with the frames?

Cyw2018 · 18/07/2020 12:23

Feeling slightly sick and very sad after watching the video tour. How can anyone think that that is okay let alone attractive, all those beautiful animals killed, including a gorilla FFS Angry

Wallybigboots · 18/07/2020 12:24

Proves my theory that the more money people have, the less taste they have!

CrystalDeCanter · 18/07/2020 12:25

Evidence right there that conservation orders should be put on home interiors as well as exteriors.

That poor beautiful house.

Grin We urgently need to establish the RSPCH and imprison offenders Grin

Time40 · 18/07/2020 12:29

That looks like a real zebra ... on rockers.

The house itself seems overpriced?? Is it really so expensive in that area now?

CrystalDeCanter · 18/07/2020 12:29

Haha too right WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll

fflelp · 18/07/2020 12:30

Absolutely hideous.
More money than sense.
The dead animals everywhere are just awful. Killed so they could decorate somebody's tasteless mansion.

mazsagong · 18/07/2020 12:31

@4amWitchingHour

I'd only buy it if the badger stays

@YaWeeSkitter

Hertingfordbury sounds to me like one of the spoof places that Victoria wood used in her sketches.

I looked at the previous selling price and it was £,3,250000. 5 years ago . Not a bad mark up !

But what is it about these big houses with so few photos. The older listing only had 8 photos and 1 of them was a nicely positioned bath bridge.

It is actually a very desirable village on the edge of Hertford but I still find the name doesn’t roll of the tongue easily. I live within walking distance of this house but never seen it in real life.
Kenworthington · 18/07/2020 12:34

I lobe in fear that my house is going to end up in one of these threads but mine is Tame by comparison

MotherMorph · 18/07/2020 12:34

gosh lots more mind boggling stuff in the video! Lots of motor racing memorabilia...and the tiger would make me poop myself every time I went in the room!
If I'm being picky I thought a couple of the bedrooms looked a bit small (for that price!) Luckily its not a dilemma I'm ever going to have to face but agree with PP once all the "stuff" is taken out it would be all that bad. I think the hall is tacky though, even without the contents of the natural history museum in it.
