5 ft 3, how much do you weigh?

Jula332 · 09/07/2020 12:00

After years of avoiding the scales out of the fear I would slip back into having a weight complex, I braved it today when visiting my osteopath.

I'm 10 stone and stand at 5 ft 3. My dress size ranges from 10-12 depending where I shop.

I'm not sure whether to be relieved or disappointed as whilst I haven't been at all careful about dieting or maintaining, I've heard a few people say how being within 8 stone is the ideal for somebody my height.

I'm not obese but am a bit flabby in some places. I think I look nice in clothes.

If you are 5 ft 3 or close to, how much do you weigh?

14.5 stone. But then Im very fat! I was a good soze at 10 stone but I don't feel comfortable being too thin and have never gone under 9.5 as I start to look gaunt. My friend is 8.5 stone at 5ft 3 and is very slim. I think 9 to 10 is a good weight for our height.

Thank you for the reply Smile

I developed something of an eating disorder after suffering from hypermesis years ago and not being able to eat, I've not a clue how much I weighed but I looked skeletal and very gaunt. I much prefer having some weight on me that's for sure.

I'm just under 8 stone. I wear size 8 clothes. My build is small and narrow. Are you wider, in terms of shoulders and such? We are all built differently.

karala · 09/07/2020 12:12

10.5 stone - I am an apple shape and most of my weight is on my tummy - I usually wear size 12 clothes

LucyLocketsPocket · 09/07/2020 12:14

I'm 5' 2" and about 9 stone. I've probably put on about 4lbs during lockdown.

I'm usually a size 10. Carry a bit of extra weight on my tummy. Feel like 8 1/2 stone is a good weight for my frame.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 09/07/2020 12:14

I'm about 10 1/2 stone. I'm quite solid & muscly, pear shaped. Never seemed to fluctuate much over the last twenty years in terms of absolute weight, rarely been below 9 1/2 stone.
My shape however does change quite a bit, depending on how much exercise I am getting.

Jula332 · 09/07/2020 12:17

I have broad shoulders and wide hips myself. Smallish bust.

Problem areas for me are my arms and legs.

I wouldn't mind losing a few lbs as I don't like the fact I have a mild case of bingo wings Grin

I'm around 8st 10, I think I have a small frame and people often think I weigh considerably less than I do.
I'm unsure what size I am, an 8 I think but I don't like anything fitted so would go for a 10.

Birkenshock · 09/07/2020 12:18

Currently 9st, having put on lockdown weight. I have narrow shoulders and a small frame, I look best around 8.5stone

SaladSauce · 09/07/2020 12:19

I'm 5.4 and 9.5 stone. I have a belly still from pregnancy (ds is 18 months) but rest looks normal

Boomclaps · 09/07/2020 12:21

9st6 usually, athletic frame. Currently 10st11 and 35w pregnant

cathyandclare · 09/07/2020 12:22

I'm 8' 12 at the moment having put on weight in lockdown . My clothes are mostly size 8 (10 if vintage/old) and I'm usually 8' 5 to 8'9. Things still fit but pull unattractively on the bum and thighs!

TwoKidsStillStanding · 09/07/2020 12:22

I’m the same height and weight at 6 months post-natal. I have a bit of a tummy still, but feel ok. I have a small frame so would prefer to weigh less - 9 stone would be my ideal and I think 9-9.5 stones is realistic. But everyone is built differently!

Jula332 · 09/07/2020 12:23

I had a baby in 2018 then another in 2019 so I'm probably still carrying some excess from my DD as I haven't made a conscious effort to shape up (PND)

I'm planning to go to the gym as soon as the government opens them back up again.

53kg / 8 stone 3.

Except right now because I'm 27 weeks pregnant, so add on an extra 5kg!

Skyliner001 · 09/07/2020 12:26

8 stone 11. Most Comfortable at 8.6 but gave a large bust and butt! 🙄😳

BrokenBrit · 09/07/2020 12:28

10 stone, 5 foot 2, BMI is 25.7, size 12.

I have a bit of a belly but I also have strong thighs from bike riding and did weights at the gym pre covid so I must have some muscle somewhere!
I prob need to lose about half a stone.

ThursdayLastWeek · 09/07/2020 12:29

I’m 5'4” and my weight has crept up to 10st 10lbs during lockdown.
At my fittest I have to find 'size 11' clothes but now am firmly in the size 12, medium range.

My boobs have got bigger!

I have reasonably muscular legs which combined with my bust is where most of my weight lives I think.

I’m just coming through what has been nearly 2 years of various injuries so I’m hoping to rectify this gain with a bit more exercise soon!

Roadrunner550 · 09/07/2020 12:31

I was just over 10 stone before I got pregnant, had gestational diabetes and am now breastfeeding a 3.5mo so have dropped to about 9 stone 4. I wear size 8-10 on top and size 10-12 on the bottom.

ThursdayLastWeek · 09/07/2020 12:32

Oh and if I were ever to get down to 8 stone at 5’4” I think I’d look ill. I really do find it interesting how people can carry weight so differently.

PinkSpring · 09/07/2020 12:33

12:12 which makes me a size 14/16 and too big for my height! I am not comfortable with my size!

I need to lose a few stone but my excuse is I just had a baby (and keep eating crap....)

MNnicknameforCVthreads · 09/07/2020 12:34

I think this also depends on age. I am this height. At 25 I was 8st4 ish and looked/felt great. I am nearer 45 now and a stone heavier. I look/feel perfectly reasonable but I would prefer to be 8’10-9st. I don’t think I would look or feel great at 8st4 like I was in my youth.

CallmeAlCapone · 09/07/2020 12:34

5' 3 and a little bit, so just over your height.
10 stone 6 lbs. Went up to 10 stone 9 lbs during lockdown and felt HORRIBLE!!

Best weight ever for me is 9 stones 10lbs (achieved by hard core weight training) anything less I look too skinny

thesunwillout · 09/07/2020 12:36

11 stone, I look best at 10. I'm hourglass/pear shape, 50 yrs old.
I've never been lean.
My back is 32inches
My hips about 38. But I carry my weight in my legs and bum unfortunately. So I have to buy size 16 jeans, but have a tiny waist which is a bloody pita!

Rosieeknight997 · 09/07/2020 12:36

Im 5 ft 4 a little taller than you , im 8 & a half stone , trying to get back to 8 stone (Lock down weight) i honestly feel i look my best at 8 stone and i feel better about myself
