Amber Heard & Johnny Depp....Your thoughts?

I have seen this in the news over the past couple of days and wasn't really sure what to think. It sounds to me like a very volatile relationship and it may be that they are both abusers. Or at the least they are completely incompatible with each other.

Today I noticed that Amber Heard was walking into court and she had a scarf around her face. Then she removed the scarf and smiled for everyone and waved and seemed to enjoy the cameras being there. It's just an observation but maybe the accusations of her being a narcissist could be accurate? Or is she maybe trying to put a brave face on it all under what must be a very stressful situation for all concerned?

Johnny Depp kept his mask on but was also waving for the cameras I should add.

Anyway, I'm well aware it's none of my business really, it was just something I had thought about after seeing the news today and wondered what others thought!

Toxic in the extreme.

He sounds completely dysfunctional and misogynistic on every level.

Equally, it’s hard to understand why she stayed for so long, and even married him, after all these dysfunctional events had played out. She had enough money and support to leave.

Paul Bettany isn’t coming out of it at all well either, is he? Horrible specimen.

Ive not read anything misogynistic. What have I missed?

I believe him. She comes accross as a cold, toxic narcissist and I've seen my fair share of those so I trust my gut.

I think he has had issues with drink ect... and she got him at a time in his life where he was vulnerable. Hopefully he will get himself any help he needs and choose better partners in future.

Any why is Kate Moss not testifying. It’s her I want to hear from, not the sensible women he dated who he probably hid his worst behaviours from anyway.

Both are unhinged, Depp more than her because he is nearly double her age. Serves him well for ditching the long term partner for a younger model. What a cliche Hmm

I believe Johnny Depp. There are many, many men out there in this situation with highly manipulative women who believe their own bullshit and live a complete lie where they are the victim.

My DH was one of them. His ex wife was aggressive, violent, abusive, manipulative... Yet pinned it all on him and was successful in doing so. I've heard the truth from the children who sadly had to witness it numerous times. She still to this day 6 years later believes her own lies and will tell anyone who will listen. She can often be found online dishing out relationship advice about how to escape DV situations, even though she was/is the perpetrator. My DH in the 5 years we have been together has never even raised his voice at me. We've not even argued! I just feel sorry for the kids having to witness that mess at the time, and the continuing fallout. It's no surprise that they are all now violent children either.

I believe him. I also think it’s taken a lot to sit and admit to his drug abuse/alcoholism in great detail, that can’t have been easy but just shows how determined he is to clear his name.

Also if a woman was forced to face her abuser everyday in court when he didn’t need to be there we would all be screaming from the rooftops how wrong it is!

I agree. I think she's a disgusting piece of work, and I can't imagine what he went through while she was making him out to be an abuser and essentially turned the world against him. She cut the end of his finger off, shat in his bed, hit him, and goaded and belittled him when he tried to walk away from a fight. And yet some people are saying they're equally at fault?

I believe that he was never violent to his exes. That doesn't mean he wasn't violet in this relationship.
Volatile relationships can turn someone into a different person.
I definitelythink both parties are to blame, and there was probably violence on both sides.

From a legal perspective he was ill-advised to pursue this lawsuit. For one thing, financially it’s a big gamble, secondly all kinds of gory details are likely to emerge during the course of the proceedings, such as the fact he supplied his 13 year old daughter with drugs on top of the inevitable’he said, she said’ allegations which could damage his reputation further. As for The Sun newspaper, even if it loses it kind of wins - as is the way with the tabloid machine, it simply feeds upon itself with each appalling revelation.

The entire relationship appears to have been a joyless abyss. Just how lacking in judgement was Depp to marry this woman? It’s now known as the most toxic divorce in Hollywood, which by Hollywood standards is pretty damning.

The rumour is that VP and JD broke up because JD chose his mother over her (and issues with her family). Not due to drugs etc.

Either way, he’s to blame, and so is she because she has admitted hitting him too, as well as other vile behaviours.

So he is to blame for her actions, You might want to rethink that.

I expect Vanessa is glad to be out of it.

She may well be, but she has still come out in favour of JD

I have seen him absolutely out of it on a live show. Confused I truly cannot understand how arrogant and unstable you have to be to disrespect your audience and host like that.
I strongly believe he is enjoying attention and his PR machinery is also far far stronger and well-oiled than Amber Heard.
Also, a lot of patterns go hand in hand. So yes, I do judge people for marrying women who could be their daughters. It’s fucking creepy.

VP is not a fair witness in my opinion. Their children’s future rests on his popularity, money and fame. Winona’s is a more relevant testimony.

Did anyone else see the bit in the news yesterday about A.H wanting a new piece of information being heard in private as it was so shocking?

I wondered if that was why she wanted to be at this court case despite not needing to be, to come forward with new evidence against him..

I've been following this quite closely and I'm still not sure what to make of it. Any which way it sounds like a horiffic, toxic, volatile relationship with a lot of drugs and alcohol thrown in for good measure.

I've long been a fan of Johnny Depp and don't really know anything about Amber Heard, other that what I saw in the media when they were together.

At the moment, I'm inclined to believe him, it's interesting that previous relationships are happy to go to court and say this wasn't their experience of him. I certainly don't think he's completely blameless but it looks like it's more than 50/50 that it might be her. I'll continue to follow with interest.

He's had well known issues with substance abuse since the 1990's. And I agree, it's a very high risk strategy to pursue this lawsuit - there is no way he's coming out of this smelling of roses.
