Amber Heard & Johnny Depp....Your thoughts?

Whatdoyouthinkaboutthisone · 08/07/2020 18:53

I have seen this in the news over the past couple of days and wasn't really sure what to think. It sounds to me like a very volatile relationship and it may be that they are both abusers. Or at the least they are completely incompatible with each other.

Today I noticed that Amber Heard was walking into court and she had a scarf around her face. Then she removed the scarf and smiled for everyone and waved and seemed to enjoy the cameras being there. It's just an observation but maybe the accusations of her being a narcissist could be accurate? Or is she maybe trying to put a brave face on it all under what must be a very stressful situation for all concerned?

Johnny Depp kept his mask on but was also waving for the cameras I should add.

Anyway, I'm well aware it's none of my business really, it was just something I had thought about after seeing the news today and wondered what others thought!

Uraflutteringcunt

Maybe you should write clearer, or stick to what we "know" instead of making stuff up to suit your bias.

Maybe you will understand that. instead of insulting other posters.

InFiveMins · 08/07/2020 20:41

He sent texts about wanting to fuck her burnt corpse. Confused

He's vile.

Uraflutteringcunt · 08/07/2020 20:41

JD’s exes have ALL come out in support of him, saying that he’s the gentlest soul

Including Kate Moss, Jennifer Grey and his first wife Lori? Wow, I’ve not seen those testimonials, any links?

No? Because they don’t exist.

ILoveYou3000 · 08/07/2020 20:41

He is 57, she is 34. That IS half his age. Unless of course you ignore statistics. He could even be her grand pa! 🤮

Not quite half his age (that would be 28/29). He's 23 years older than her; not old enough to be her grandpa. Her dad yep, but not her grandpa.

ragged · 08/07/2020 20:43

Another one who never heard of her until the libel trial.
I haven't a scoobie about the facts of the case but I hope that Justice prevails.

ArriettyJones · 08/07/2020 20:44

I think that poster meant Ill advised from Johnny Depp’s point of view. He’s spending all this money to “clear his name” but given everything coming out, it’s not going to be great for his reputation even if he wins.

Yes that’s what I mean. It is (should be) against professional standards to take certain cases, isn’t it?

I can only conclude money won the day but surely what should have happened is he should have been told “don’t do it” by legal advisors?

Windyjuly · 08/07/2020 20:44

Narrow boat have you got links to any of that? Fear in people's eyes? Enjoying it?
Beating up vp etc....

On a side note
I find it fascinating how they manage their many homes in one area let alone the world? He has massive mansion and that huge art deco pent house.

How do they decide where to stay or sleep or spend the day or dinner 🤔? Let alone multiple homes around the world.

possiblepickle · 08/07/2020 20:44

This whole system is built around patriarchy. He is a product of the time when people like Weinstein were ruling Hollywood (not saying they are not doing it now!).
What else can we expect?
But I do wonder how much arrogance one has to have to try and go to court on all this mess. You need to really be in love with yourself to do that. He is hardly going to be doing many lead roles anymore, is he? I hope not!

Windyjuly · 08/07/2020 20:45

I don't 🤔 either will be come out well.

That is why I joked about statistics in my original quote. Grin
RyanBergarasTeeth · 08/07/2020 20:45

You will always have people crowding to support her simply because she has a vagina. She is an abuser. She has history of other people witnessing abuse against her exs. She admitted shitting on his bed. She cut his finger off. She has multiple recorded tapes admitting to hurting him and coaxing him into fights as he tried to leave the room. She started a fight the day after his mom died and he wasnt sober.

He is no angel but dont make out they are as bad as each other or her is worse simoly because she is female.

SimonJT · 08/07/2020 20:46

@possiblepickle

heartsonacake He is worse because he should have known better. But don’t they all think through their dicks at that age? No fool like an old fool and all that. He is 57, she is 34. That IS half his age. Unless of course you ignore statistics. He could even be her grand pa! 🤮
34 is not half of 57, its 28.5
possiblepickle · 08/07/2020 20:46

57 will round off to 60, 34 will round off to 30.

narrowboatgirl · 08/07/2020 20:47

Even when this all came out and she was automatically believed because she was a woman.

That just isn’t true. When the allegations first came out she was completely dragged to pieces and demonised, and public feeling was very much against her and for Poor Johnny. The media narrative was that she was a typical gold-digging liar.

The media are not kind to women who accuse powerful men of abuse.

As for the allegation that Heard abused her ex. That’s been completely misrepresented. According to the ex in question they had an argument at an airport and an airport security official came over, when that individual realised they were lesbians he called the police and made a false report about domestic violence. Amber’s ex has always said she was never abusive.

Headandheart · 08/07/2020 20:47

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt before what came out today but he definitely is not coming across as ‘the gentlest soul.’

They’re both adults. There is no “should have known better”. Age is irrelevant here - that’s not the reason they’re going through the court trial now.

You seem to have a massive chip on your shoulder about the quality of actor you think he is. Again, that’s irrelevant. Stop spouting nonsense.

possiblepickle · 08/07/2020 20:49

I am one of the people who didn’t believe her automatically.
I read on his and her history and made up my mind. Both awful, he is more cos much older and experienced and resourceful, and the worst off in all this will possibly be his daughter.

JKRisagryff · 08/07/2020 20:51

Ryan I agree and I always err on the side of believing the victim. I think it’s hard to backtrack when people were so supportive of her at the beginning because we have to admit we were duped. The woman clearly has sociopathic tendencies and has fabricated most of her story. That’s not to say some of it isn’t true, JD sounds like a sad man with substance abuse issues.

ChewChewIsMySpiritAnimal · 08/07/2020 20:52

She looks like she's soaking up the attention arriving at court. Why is she even there?

rayoflightboy · 08/07/2020 20:52

Both are unhinged, Depp more than her because he is nearly double her age. Serves him well for ditching the long term partner for a younger model. What a cliche hmm

Really because he left his partner he deserves the physical and mental abuse.I really dont think so.

I think she set her sights on him to further her career, but hes stronger than she realised. He fought back.I hope he takes her to the cleaners and ruins hr career.

possiblepickle · 08/07/2020 20:53

heartsonacake
Both are adults but how in world can you deny the imbalance that is so often a theme of such relationships? Older man, younger woman. He gets bored when the current partner hits pre-meno and gets a far younger model. Even to this date, a huge number of leading men in movies are much older than the leading women. It’s all part of this story or is it not? You are totally ignoring the bigger picture and being a bit petty too.
In terms of acting, yes I think he is a mediocre actor and there are far better actors who should be given a chance but only if this lot stops loving their own image too much. Hmm

He has a history of abuse. RTFT.
Windyjuly · 08/07/2020 20:55

This thread is getting a bit tiresome. Can we stop the in fighting.

Re the films, possible, have you seen his older stuff? He is a very good actor.

It isn’t against professional standards to take certain cases - quite the opposite. You can’t pick and choose which clients to represent, at least not as a barrister.

Johnny Depp’s lawyers will have given him advice on whether he has a strong case or not (and I’m not a defamation lawyer or familiar enough with this case so have no idea if he does). That advice is private. Even if they told him it was a bad idea, if he chose to ignore that advice and wanted to proceed there is nothing improper about his solicitors doing so on his behalf, and the barrister would have been ethically obliged to do so.

Notmyrealname855 · 08/07/2020 20:56

They both sound unhinged, very toxic both of them...

Paul Bettany coming off incredibly bad too Angry why would you ever say these things!? Drown her like a witch? Wtf. They should all be blacklisted, productions need some ethical charter
