Oops you beat me to it
I’d put

Ads have had enough of malakas
On July 4, they’re going to go crackers

BakewellTarts · 02/07/2020 19:45

Actually I haven't got any murdering planned on July 4th. Slipping! Going to the Zoo on Sunday though...

Placemarking before I try to sleep as I got none last night.

MagdaS · 02/07/2020 19:49

Checking in

Allflightscancelled · 02/07/2020 19:49

Cinemas are opening and our local one is doing tickets for a fiver 💃🏻

NannyPhlegm · 02/07/2020 19:51

Well, since I'm in Wales, I'm simply going to cry in my takeaway on July 4th and contemplate the utter destruction of the country I love

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 02/07/2020 19:52

Place marking! The last one moved so fast I didn't get the chance to post (also had to do a quantity of pesky work).

TheGreatWave · 02/07/2020 19:53

Hi all.

Just read that article that orange shared. Makes for very interesting reading and obviously the US has the whole healthcare backdrop as well, so those more likely out, and therefore more likely to catch it are also the ones least likely to have access to testing and treatment. Easier for them to blame people not wearing masks though then look at their systems.

We'll not be heading out to wet our whistle on the 4th. I can't even remember the last time I went into a pub just as a pub, rather than for something to eat. Probably when DS1 was a baby.

Littlebelina · 02/07/2020 20:01

Checking in!

ILoveTotoro · 02/07/2020 20:02

Yay

Orangeblossom78 · 02/07/2020 20:04

Hi, just think I have fallen out with family in Scotland again. Going on about how they all have masks and would rather have Nicola than Boris in charge, etc. I messaged back to say what I thought and have not heard further. Hmm. Said she made it feel unfriendly to others outside, possible quarantine and would probably mess up their economy. and it felt like a dictatorship!

How do people get so passive and accepting of it all Confused

Orangeblossom78 · 02/07/2020 20:05

(and said she looked like the one off the Krankies)

BogRollBOGOF · 02/07/2020 20:10

I need to take the DCs on a pub crawl to brighten up one of our bloody walks. Preferably during school time Grin

NannyPhlegm · 02/07/2020 20:12

You know what I find unsettling about Sturgeon and Drakeford going on about borders and their territory and showing the finger to Westminster? Well, they are both so pro-EU and anti-Leave and waxed lyrical about free movement and open borders! Just not when it's to do with the Saesnichs/ Sassenachs, eh?

At least Scotland voted to Remain, so Nicky love has that excuse. Drakeford is just pathetic.

Bollss · 02/07/2020 20:12

The talk of no uniforms / relaxed uniforms and first name schools makes my heart happy.

DS is only starting primary in sept, they do have a uniform but they seem like a friendly school iyswim.

I'm already worried about his high school because all the high schools round here are wanky acadamies where you're not allowed to take your blazer off and I really don't like it.

The only thing I will say is lots of acadamies have made big efforts to get kids into schools where non acadamies haven't.

(Am I spelling acadamies right it doesn't look right! Can tell I went to a polo shirt and jumpers high school can't you Wink)

HesterShaw1 · 02/07/2020 20:17

I used to teach....I enjoyed about half if it, which wasn't enough, so I stopped! I'm intrigued by these school threads. I promise I won't cause a bust up comment, so which section are they in?

I have been sailing today. Imagine a haystack being blown round in a gale, a similar colour and consistency. That's my hair, that is. But it was good fun.

I went to the park today, an actual children's playground!!! We were passing on the way to the supermarket and I couldn't see any locks on the gates so off I went to investigate. No locks so we went in, 2 year old had a great time. I was a lot more concerned about him falling off the huge climbing frame given his history of falling off the one by us which is a lot lower than him getting the lurgy from the equipment. Managed to get myself wedged down the slide too, good job I got free or I would have murdered a few people by asking for help.

The other week I had 2 different sets of people offer to help me with the pushchair and stairs. They didn't act like we were diseased although one was a runner so maybe he thought he could murder me by breathing.

BogRollBOGOF · 02/07/2020 20:23

I'm sure my spelling ability has succumbed to Covid. Unless it's just months of trying to decode DS's writing and if he's written 900 or Poo.
It doesn't help that I smashed my phone screen which now looks like it's covered in cobwebs, with two particularly shattered sections lurking around the preview and post buttons halfway along the screen.

I need to get it sorted, but that requires mojo. Grin

Thank you!! I just sat staring at it thinking no I don't think thats right but I didn't have the brain capacity to figure it out Grin
RubberDinghyRapids · 02/07/2020 20:25

Checking in. Wearing my running gear but still firmly wedged on the sofa. Told DH I was going but under no illusions that it would be good. He said not to bother and go in the morning so off came the trainers. I have no bloody resolve.

I joined a C25K thread but am too ashamed to even read it until I've gotten back out there Blush

KaronAVyrus · 02/07/2020 20:26

Checking in.

Teateaandmoretea · 02/07/2020 20:27

My dd’s school hasn’t put the kids back in uniform, I assumed so the teachers could rock shorts. I too don’t get the idea that school uniform = better behaviour. The kids get bored of comparing clothes after a couple of weeks. Dd has grown out of her uniform anyway, so it was lucky tbh Smile

We’re going round to friends on Saturday hopefully how exciting will that be
