Coventry you posho 😆

Tbf right now cov has the lowest infection rate in the midlands. Leicester’s is 100x

So you should be welcome anywhere....

Dowser · 02/07/2020 22:24

Please @IAintentDead
I don’t have those kind of skills
I noticed there are far more contributors than when I joined about 6 threads ago, so I thought it might be helpful to get a rough guide of where we all are

@CruCru yes work tomorrow. Continuing to clean up the remainder of today's shower of shite. And trying to do my actual work. And building a new patio for over my husband.

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 02/07/2020 22:26

Amazing news BarkandCheese I hope your dd feels very proud

Just checking in. I was out and about today and things looked even more normal. Many more cars on the road, more people out and about. It was nice to see. I'm actually relieved the government is going to taking action to get children back to school from September even though I'm not a parent. I am concerned some subjects will be trimmed back or ditched though - I feel for anyone affected. I got really into one particular subject at school and it sparked a lifelong passion. I bet it's one of the ones which will be deemed less important.

I had a browse of a couple of other threads. Yeah, no. It's bonkers. I STILL have dementor friends on FB talking about how no one should dare stand a metre away from anyone else because that advice has only been given to save businesses. My eyes are rolling so hard at things like that it hurts. I'm actually grateful - maybe the only good thing about the pandemic is its got me away from social media. I was addicted before in all honesty. I now see what a waste of time it often is and how miserable it can make you.

MinesaPinot · 02/07/2020 22:27

I'm South East as well - Kent.

On the basis I got the refund for my train ticket, and we had confirmation from Tui today that our holiday to Greece at the end of August has been cancelled, I'm looking at posh laptop bags for when I eventually have to go back to the office. Mind you I've got so much crap at home now a container lorry might be more appropriate.

PickAChew · 02/07/2020 22:34

@Willow2017 the ambience created by your getup will be, er, unreal. I shall cross everything for no heatwaves.

TheGreatWave · 02/07/2020 22:35

Well done to mini barkandcheese

Nothing Early days of the increase - I started them straight on the back of mirtazapine (goodness me, the weight gain on them) so it was a strange time anyway.

Talking of the Fort in Birmingham, the only time I have ever been is when it first opened, with my friend from school. Man that was a long time ago.

I am glad I am not in Phase 1 for the office return, I think I would end up having a massive meltdown in the middle of it before the end of the first day. However this does mean that I still need to work at home which also results in meltdowns in the middle of the room - but at least I don't have to follow aone way system to use the loo.

MaxNormal · 02/07/2020 22:38

Another one for your list, I'm in Scotland.

RubberDinghyRapids · 02/07/2020 22:38

Whoops! Ended up on a CV thread by accident. Will be hiding that one... only went on to give some reassurance to someone. Bunfight commenced in under 40 posts.

TheGreatWave · 02/07/2020 22:39

We usually stop at Morrison's on the way to my parents (as opposed to the services) have something in the cafe and a mooch in the shop. I am debating whether it is worth it when we go down in a couple of weeks.

mylittleyumyum · 02/07/2020 22:42

Thanks Dowser, our Fort is pretty easy to drive in and out of, makes up for it being like a freezing wind tunnel on all but the warmest of days.

PickAChew · 02/07/2020 22:44

John Lewis was lovely, this morning, btw. Hand sanitiser at entrances and exits, a few stickers and signs here and there, but once in, you were completely free to move. I accidentally only put 7 steps between myself and the lady in front of me on the escalator, though, after she'd carefully counted her 8. I did well to get on at all. I really struggle with down escalators

Anyhow, the loos were open. All the loos were open. No ridiculous alternating cubicles (they have walls in between, ffs!) and no annoying one in, one out.

PickAChew · 02/07/2020 22:46

We normally stop at Wetherby or Ferrybridge services, @thegreatwave. No idea what they'll be like.

Mascotte · 02/07/2020 22:49

Just joining in.. I'd love a revolutionary meet up. I have no one to see in real life and my DP has come out as a dementor.

Allflightscancelled · 02/07/2020 22:50

@Teateaandmoretea ooh have we got a really low rate in Cov? Encouraging! Because we're going to the SW in a couple of weeks and we'd hatched a dastardly plan to get off on our holidays even if a local lockdown looked likely. Because we are going, whatever Matt Wanksock threatens us with.

IAintentDead · 02/07/2020 22:50

OK, I'll have a go tomorrow
TheGreatWave · 02/07/2020 22:50

pick we usually stop at Wetherby on the way back home, and I get to have a KFC.

Allflightscancelled · 02/07/2020 22:59

As of now, I don't mind a bit of low level, low cost compliance like queueing politely at the supermarket. But anything high cost, like my holiday for example - no, not any more. We have done enough, lost more than enough, already.

justasking111 · 02/07/2020 23:01

Went down to the marina yesterday the pub on the front has been busy all the big tables gone, just tables of four people max. Well I counted 130 chairs on the verandah outside so they could make money opening with careful staffing.

So I said to OH we ought to have a drink there when they open. He was stunned at first then gave me the dementor lecture sigh.....

I might be cradling a glass of wine solo while he faffs about on the boat.

Mrsfrumble · 02/07/2020 23:04

I’m in London and I think Jourdain is too.

Today was rough. At one point I was on the sofa, feeling practically catatonic with misery while the children clambered all over me. It took all I had to start speaking and moving again. But tomorrow morning is their 2.5 hours at school. We so badly need some time apart, and DS is so excited he could burst.

justasking111 · 02/07/2020 23:12

Oh look another bright comment.

The problem is that London do not allow Wales to have a fully functioning commercial bank (so can block competition on their door step), the banking services sector is crucial for any nation, just look at London, no wonder Wales is poor.

BogRollBOGOF · 02/07/2020 23:21

Solo glass of wine sounds great.

Why is it that when I motivate myself to actually do something, some bugger comes along and starts talking at me? 57 seconds into a yoga video earlier... The classic is when I put earphones in to listen to music without annoying anyone...

I think part of my apathy is reminiscent of having a baby, when you daren't move or you'll disturb the buggers and regret it and still not achieve what you wanted.

I love them all, even DH, but we're not designed to be with each other constantly.
Normally in the summer, I book DS2 into sports clubs some days just for a change of dynamic, socialise him and have a quiet day with DS1. Can't see that happening this year with limited places, others needing the childcare more than us and needing longer bookings not random.

littlbrowndog · 02/07/2020 23:25

Hey Nicola me and me and my three kids will be wearing this in the shops. Like fucking posse

ADs getting ready
littlbrowndog · 02/07/2020 23:28

We will pull it up over our faces and run amok

The wee ones will no doubt be the worse

But hey long as their wee faces are covered we can go wild now

Thanks Nicola for letting us go wild long as our faces are covered

Mascotte · 02/07/2020 23:31

@littlbrowndog yes! I'll go the full Yasser Arafat too
