Sorry it’s a bit of a lame title.

Much I like Germany and admire the Germans plus am shagging one , a lot of their rules do seem to be Roolz.

TheGreatWave · 04/07/2020 23:15

I have just discovered none of the play areas in my local area have been opened and as yet they have not confirmed when they will be.

I really hope that people get together and take matters into their own hands.

PickAChew · 04/07/2020 23:15

@justasking111

Just amused myself looking at pub pictures in the DM. Some seriously dodgy haircuts, plenty of dark roots showing too. Some men have managed to get interesting cuts. I wonder if any of them had trouble getting into their party clothes today, mine do not fit at the moment.

Newcastle the gift that keeps on giving photo wise Grin

Daft thing is, our local drunks have managed perfectly well without open pubs. I've seen some stupendous piles of puke on my regulation walks.

Nice bit of dementoring here.

ADs getting ready
Drivingdownthe101 · 04/07/2020 23:15

Definitely do it TuckMyWin! I need to get hold of some cash before DD decides to actually empty her money box and count her cash Grin

Dougalthesyrianhamster · 04/07/2020 23:21

What on earth is ADs?!

Willow2017 · 04/07/2020 23:22

Pickachew
No, surely not ^Jesmond^ 😲😲😲
That's far too naice for louts😉

Nihiloxica · 04/07/2020 23:34

Page 40 - someone start a new thread.

We've had some great suggestions.

I don't suffer from anxiety but I miss this thread something rotten without its calming influence.

TheGreatWave · 04/07/2020 23:35

@Dougalthesyrianhamster

What on earth is ADs?!
Anti Dementors. Something to do with Harry Potter.
Ibake · 04/07/2020 23:38

Evening all. Am home after a lovely evening. Just easy, all very organised and hassle free. Bit of a pub crawl with DH and bumped into friends. Have squandered a fair amount of cash in my town. Result. Also, no sign of any trouble or rowdiness anywhere although no doubt all the disapproving media outlets will be full of fire and brimstone tomorrow.

Re babies, so long since any in my life but I am a Home Start volunteer and obviously we get all the safeguarding training and aren't supposed to be too physically hands on. And then a grateful mum plonks her baby in your lap and without even thinking about it you drop a kiss on the top of their head and inhale deeply. Babies are supposed to be squished. End of.

TuckMyWin · 04/07/2020 23:39

Random late night musings: does anyone else think Nicola Sturgeon's hair looks suspiciously neat?

Ibake · 04/07/2020 23:41

@tuck the smunt posted a vid early on of her doing her own haircut but not sure I entirely believe her.

PickAChew · 04/07/2020 23:41

Though it's abbreviated to ADs because people were taking offence at using the word dementor, for all sorts of random reasons.

NannyPhlegm · 04/07/2020 23:42

All politicians apart from Boris look suspiciously neat! No way are they all married to such competent amateur hair dressers

PickAChew · 04/07/2020 23:44

I can confirm that their heads don't smell nearly so nice once they're teenagers :o

fartingsparkles · 04/07/2020 23:44

Ooo nearly new thread time!

Had a good day - just a walk with a friend, but nice and normal. Did notice quite a few pubs locally haven't opened, but know some are waiting til next week. We were going to stop for a coffee on our walk, but there was a hearteningly long queue at the little independent cafe (and at the ice cream place nearby too) which we couldn't face with kids in tow.

@Willow and others I feel the same. I live a pretty boring life really, and didn't have holidays planned or anything big, but I did have 'stuff' to do - days out, theme parks etc - which would have been thoroughly enjoyed, and i damn well want them back. Not with maybes and social distancing and caveats, just as they were supposed to be.

One of the things that has got to me most is the people's inability to risk assess and think critically. This week I have nearly slipped in the bath when having a shower, whacked my head on a door and nearly tripped down stairs (yes, I am a very clumsy heffer). What do I do? a) never shower again (would help with social distancing I suppose), remove all doors and move to a bungalow or b) be aware that I am clumsy and take a bit more care.

pollyhemlock · 04/07/2020 23:46

Loads of pictures on Twitter of people getting far too close together in Soho. I fear another visit from the Giant Doctor is imminent.

Ibake · 04/07/2020 23:47

AD's tell the Giant Doctor to GTF or is that too inflammatory?!

TheGreatWave · 04/07/2020 23:48

Did anyone else see about the pub in Ashford, Kent that was due to open at 10am today? At 2am a drunken 17 yr old having twoc'ed the car (range rover) crashed into the front of it. Grade II listed as well.

TheGreatWave · 04/07/2020 23:49

@Dowser

Oops you beat me to it I’d put

Ads have had enough of malakas
On July 4, they’re going to go crackers

This was one of the suggestions, maybe a bit of tweaking?
TheGreatWave · 04/07/2020 23:52

New one here, as we are very close to the edge on this one.

My friends have a micro pub.
A couple of weeks into lockdown, the house next door had a major fire which spread through their roof leaving them temporarily homeless too.

They're fantastic people, but they have the most almighty, incredible runs of horrendous luck.
If they wrote an autbiography people would scream "fiction" type of runs of bad luck.

incognitomum · 05/07/2020 01:10

That's awful about the pub Sad

Orangeblossom78 · 05/07/2020 06:46

I see that on the day the pubs opened the BBC is bringing us this joy Hmm

'superspreader' events - birthday parties, bar nights, and even choir practice - seem to be the culprits in an outsized number of Covid-19 infections
