AnxiousElephant77 · 02/07/2020 21:56

@fartingsparkles Not so proud to represent our team tonight, what a shower of shit.

Dowser · 02/07/2020 21:58

Happy birthday little yum yum
Oh, I know the fort,..been there many times
Very busy area For driving round .
Passed it last year I think..and berated poor Mr a Dowser..for bringing me ‘The wrong way’
Possibly, we’d been to Worcester and were on our way home
I know it was hot, busy with traffic and I was not a happy bunny

( I never am behind the wheel of the car when there’s more than me and half a dozen others on the road lol)
Loved driving in lockdown
Now it’s just another chore

Dowser · 02/07/2020 22:00

@BarkandCheese

I’m south east (Kent).

Had some nice news today, DD won first place in a writing competition. It wasn’t run by her school but she entered through the school iykwim. She’s won some books and her school have won books for the library and an author visit. It’s really given her a boost, she even got a congratulations email from her very scary HT.

That’s brilliant!
RubberDinghyRapids · 02/07/2020 22:08

Ooh Hester! We just got our holiday confirmation through the post... tell your friends and neighbours to sharpen their pitchforks!

NothingIsWrong · 02/07/2020 22:11

Increasing anxiety medication takes a while to kick in. So I'm just sitting here, quietly anxious and getting though it with all your help. Day from hell at work. But I got through that and only lost my shit at one person. My boss said he would back me if they made a complaint. Colleague not a member of public which is at least something. He annoyed me a lot though. And I'm HARD to annoy. 15 years of local government crap gives you high thresholds for general dicking about, it has to be something spectacular to set me off these days.

justasking111 · 02/07/2020 22:14

Saw a peach of a comment today went along the lines of.

" The restaurants are over priced bland pap, I get much better at home so we wont be eating out again"

I thought yep a man and had an image of his missus standing behind him with an iron frying pan Grin

IAintentDead · 02/07/2020 22:15

Maybe someone can do an excel chart and attach it.

Then it could be more easily updated. I'll do it tomorrow if no one else does.

chocolatesweets · 02/07/2020 22:16

Wales here

justasking111 · 02/07/2020 22:16

I forgot to add the commenter also said he hoped all the restaurants would go bankrupt. Shock

CruCru · 02/07/2020 22:17

That sounds hard NothingIsWrong. Are you in work tomorrow?

Allflightscancelled · 02/07/2020 22:19

@crucru I'm an evil second homer too (shhhh). So Dowser has me completely right in the SW but I could also go in W Midlands. Oh acres if I admit it - Coventry. Lowest of the low Grin

justasking111 · 02/07/2020 22:19

Another person said that the welsh should have a referendum for complete independence and anyone english living in Wales should be banned from voting Well that should be fun.

fartingsparkles · 02/07/2020 22:21

Love to you @Nothing

@Anxious too much celebration after the other night I think

TheGreatWave · 02/07/2020 22:22

@amicissimma

The thing I think is odd about things like public toilets is that we've always had some quite nasty diseases about. Typhoid is rare but we have the odd case, cholera is a possibility, there's always a bit of hepatitis about and there is the occasional case of polio picked up from the faeces of someone (generally a baby) who's just had the sugar lump. There's also norovirus, salmonella, meningitis, etc, etc, even though we have vaccinations against the worst.

Toilets need to be kept clean enough that all manner of diseases aren't spread, so why is it apparently Very Very Hard to clean them well enough to stop Covid spreading? Why can we only use alternate cubicles, although adjacent ones are fine when there's 'flu about, even in a year when the vaccine isn't very effective, or meningitis, or glandular fever? And why, for many councils, is it better that people's excrement is deposited around the local area, rather than in toilets, which the public know to be careful around?

The toilet thing is ridiculous. The ones I were at recently had every other one closed off which meant that we were all stood next to each other in a queue. The loos were fully enclosed so much safer sat in one of them next door to someone than stood in a queue waiting.
