My neighbour has a big shed full of birds and I always forget whether they’re pigeons or doves. I think I need to know about Betty’s toe.

You said once we know we can't unknow, I've forgotten already.

Here's an equally annoying one to swap in for "my toe hurts Betty".. heard it on radio 4 decades ago and can't unhear it now: Take two cows, Taffy

My grandad always reckoned it was 'the door's stuck' but I can't hear that or Betty tbh

The wood pigeons' hoot/ squawk/ whatever goes:

I read this on a mumsnet thread years ago and it has been annoying me since! Every time I hear them call, I hear the words in my head to the same rythym.... “my toe hurts Betty...my toe hurts Betty”

As it happens, there’s a wood pigeon doing it right now as I type this arghhh.

It better be good!

I like pigeons, I don't know why everyone doesn't. They are the guinea pigs of the bird world in my mind.
