What would you buy yourself as a treat right now if you had the money to do so?

If you had some spending money to buy yourself a treat, what would you get?

Ordinarily I might buy myself a new pair of shoes or some makeup, but that feels rather pointless given no one is going to notice on a video call. I also don't want to buy something that has a high chance of needing to be returned, so thing like bras are definitely out because those need to be tried on in person.

I might get my hair done, but hairdressers aren't open for business.

So... what would you buy?

(I'm budgeting for the month ahead and would typically set aside a little bit of money for fun spends, but I'm struggling to think of how I would actually use that budget right now. First world problems, I know.)

Or even better, a heated swimming pool

SophieJo · 31/05/2020 14:15

Hot tub

@Rebelwithallthecause

Also can’t forget the Peugeot salt and pepper grinders Matheus have been life changing!!
DH has been after those grinders for years. I pacified him with new Lidl ones last year, but I feel he's going to be asking again soon... Are they really that good?!

I bought new bedding and a mattress.
If I had unlimited funds I would sort the garden out and buy it nice furniture and a parasol. Oh and a hammock! A pool would be nice but won't fit!

Gammeldragz · 31/05/2020 14:26

I also now really want a £150 VeryKerry dressing gown. Given I wear them more than clothes it would work out pretty cheap in the long run. Birthday in August...

pandarific · 31/05/2020 14:28

I might go onto love honey and buy a naice fancy vibratory tbh. Or a cotton towelling dressing down like they have in hotels. Ooh, or Very Fancy shower stuff - I hear Aesop is nice but never used. The price of it!! Must be nice!

Sgtmajormummy · 31/05/2020 14:30

Some more Lampe Bergère oils.
I got a lamp and a selection of oils for Christmas and although they smell great and purify the air they’re so expensive I couldn’t justify anything but frugal use.
I looked into making my own with ethyl alcohol and essential oils and might have gone down that route.
But now I think life’s too short and to hell with the cost. I’m having a bacteria-free house that smells fabulous!

Staywithmemyblood · 31/05/2020 14:30

Air con for the bedroom would be fab! 😅🏠

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 31/05/2020 14:31

Fornasetti wallpaper, ready mix plaster (can't find any and I hate faffing about mixing my own) house plants and nice plant pots and stands, outdoor plants, pots and ornaments and lights and a hammock or egg chair or any other relaxing outdoor seating. Not much really Grin

I'm always jealous of people who can crochet, knit and sew! Zero ability here.

I learnt how to crochet a couple of years ago from watching Bella coco crochet YouTube tutorials - her videos are brilliant!

Sgtmajormummy · 31/05/2020 14:33

Lampe Berger, sorry.
Oh and a full overhaul of the underwear drawer...

pandarific · 31/05/2020 14:34

Ooh and some seasalt sandals in yellow. So pretty.

pandarific · 31/05/2020 14:44

Actually, this is something I'm genuinely going to buy... you know how in fancy hotels they sometimes have wall mounted soap/shampoo holders? We have approx 50 horrible plastic bottles cluttering up our bathroom, and I was going to get two sets of these, and wall mount them.

Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, baby wash for DS - DONE. All nice and neat, decanted into the bottles.

What would you buy yourself as a treat right now if you had the money to do so?
Wond3rment · 31/05/2020 15:03

As I will have no bonus this year my treat spends will be extremely well considered before any commitment. In most cases they won’t happen.

If I do treat myself it will be new sunglasses. My Sunglasses collection is a bit like other people bag or shoe collections. I love them. I am eyeing up a new pair of Ralph Lauren and a new pair of Versace at the moment.

I will be stocking up on Ritual Shower oil and creams. Love their products.

If it was a complete spurge I would buy new garden furniture but that’s not going to happen.

Go on, buy yourself your shoes or your make up. It doesn’t matter that no one else will notice them.

SharkasticRhymes · 31/05/2020 16:25

I've just done it - treated myself to a revamp of the room I call the office but is, in fact, a tiny room with a bed crammed in it and a desk.

Just need to finish painting it, hang the new blinds, new picture and wait for the new sofa bed to be delivered and then - ta da! - it's a proper lovely office Grin

StopTouchingYourFaceDave · 31/05/2020 16:37

A dream house, fully wheelchair accessible with ceiling track hoisting - the works.

For those pondering bra sizing difficulty in lockdown these sloggi bras are really comfy and fairly supportive without the need for exact sizing.

Recently treated myself to a gown from 100 stars

Tailoff · 31/05/2020 17:24

I've treated myself to some fancy pants boxed dried egg pasta and ridiculous priced balsamic vinegar.

I don't use a duvet in the summer and just sleep under the duvet cover.

I'd love someone to link me some great quality bedding.

PawPawNoodle · 31/05/2020 17:30

I'd buy a Dyson hair straightener to go with the hairdryer but I can't justify it at the moment as my nearly 12 year old GHDs are fine.

Letseatgrandma · 31/05/2020 17:43

@PolPotNoodle what do you think of the Dyson hair dryer-is it worth the price tag?

I’m a sucker for gadgets and they look so cool!

Qgardens · 01/06/2020 01:25

I can't believe the price of those salt and pepper pots. What on earth makes them so special?

Rebelwithallthecause · 01/06/2020 07:56

The grinding action and feel is just pure perfection
