What would you buy yourself as a treat right now if you had the money to do so?

If you had some spending money to buy yourself a treat, what would you get?

Ordinarily I might buy myself a new pair of shoes or some makeup, but that feels rather pointless given no one is going to notice on a video call. I also don't want to buy something that has a high chance of needing to be returned, so thing like bras are definitely out because those need to be tried on in person.

I might get my hair done, but hairdressers aren't open for business.

So... what would you buy?

(I'm budgeting for the month ahead and would typically set aside a little bit of money for fun spends, but I'm struggling to think of how I would actually use that budget right now. First world problems, I know.)

To be fair though i would settle for a Big Mac once Maccies opens again! Hence the need for the treadmill!

I would like a new summer duvet but the one I want is £170 so can’t bring myself to buy it.

Saz42 · 30/05/2020 23:03

I bought a linen bedset. It's so cool in this hot weather. It was expensive but worth it, and a lockdown/make myself feel better treat.

I'd love an ice cream maker and an iPad, and a new wardrobe and handbag. and a new kitchen and bathroom. I won't be getting a any of those things Grin

coronafiona · 30/05/2020 23:11

Oo sunlounger too and some tall grey sqaire pots

Just wondering where you bought it from? There are so many online, but I hate buying without being able to feel the quality.

I was going to bring some back from France last year, but I'd flown and didn't have enough spare kg allowance, so I'd planned to take the car this year & bring back some stuff. 🙄

Even if we can go later in the summer, I don't think I'd enjoy it this year. Not the event we normally go to anyway

ExpletiveDelighted · 30/05/2020 23:38

I'd like a parasol for my patio, it's too hot to sit there most of the time at the monent.

AriettyHomily · 30/05/2020 23:49

I bought myself some earrings and perfume last month and a couple of sheet masks.

Africa2go · 31/05/2020 00:01

I have bought a pair of Sweaty Betty running pants (normally way too expensive for me to justify) and a piece of original art which I had been hankering after for a while. It was a birthday present to myself when H didn't get me anything (useless at present buying anyway, lockdown meant he had no chance!).

MuseumOfYou · 31/05/2020 00:24

I've just ordered some chunky beeswax church candles from Charles Farris Chandlers in Wiltshire. Love a good candle!

Thecazelets · 31/05/2020 00:36

I have actually just ordered some new bras as I did the Boob or Bust thing and was horrified/fascinated to see just how wrong my current size is (34A to 30F). I am really hoping they're as lovely and life changing as promised!

Happynow001 · 31/05/2020 03:39

A set of dusky pink 100% cashmere loungewear, including matching body wrap, plus several pairs of cashmere and silk socks in different colours and a couple of pairs of fingerless hand/wrist warmers. Plus two matching beanies. Please and thank you! 😁

Cordial11 · 31/05/2020 05:32

A thermomix or dyson airwrap!

MysweetAudrina · 31/05/2020 06:12

I got some back money in my pay this week. I bought the following:

Sweaty Betty leggings and top.
3 yoga prints for my wall.
6 essential oils.
M&S summer beauty box & knickers, fake plants to cover the qualifying spend.
REN summer beauty box

320e in total. Looking forward to the deliveries.

BoogleMcGroogle · 31/05/2020 06:17

It's our 10th wedding anniversary later this month. As we are missing out on the long weekend in Norfolk we had booked, we are treating ourselves to an original oil painting of our favourite Norfolk beach. It feels quite indulgent but won't cost any more money and we will keep it forever as our lockdown souvenir!

freeingNora · 31/05/2020 06:26

What I'd like is Jo malone sea salt and wood sage, garden table and chairs with Webber bbq. A hand crack parasol mine blew over in the wind and broke. A new bed and a dyson hair dryer.

What I actually brought was new pj's knickers and bra from Marks and some tropic skin care. Does a bottle of nice gin and Prosecco count or are they essentials GrinGin

LauraAshleySofa · 31/05/2020 06:34

I would buy a kitchen aid hand mixer and a Mauviel copper mixing bowl just for mixing egg whites. I cannot bring myself to actually spend over £200 for fluffier egg whites.

YouJustDoYou · 31/05/2020 06:34

Really fancy gin.

ponchek · 31/05/2020 06:52

A naked man to give me a really extensive pedicure.

(erm not just any old naked man - would need to be to my taste!)

ponchek · 31/05/2020 06:53

But have to say I also rather like the sound of the copper mixing bowl ... help ... this thread is going to encourage reckless dreaming!!

Rockbird · 31/05/2020 06:56

Garden furniture as ours is wrecked! And a big gas bbq.

AwkwardSquad · 31/05/2020 07:02

That’s quite specific, ponchek! Do you have a shortlist of naked men with pedicure skills from which to choose, or would you be willing to train one up?

On a more prosaic note, I’ve just treated myself to a green utility-style jumpsuit, silver birkies and some chocolate from a small company. The last one is not v sensible as I need to do something about my lockdown weight gain, but it’s very nice chocolate...

vampirethriller · 31/05/2020 07:12

Walking sandals and a hosepipe.

Rebelwithallthecause · 31/05/2020 07:14

Things I have treated myself to over last 9 weeks-

Celtic & co slippers
Victoria Beckham eyeshadow pallet
Knitting supplies
Films from sky store
English Kits Coty sparkling wine
Balblair Whisky
Sophie Allport fabric for sew projects
Plants for garden
Bench for garden
Milton brown bath bubbles
Ren skincare cleanser
Aveda hair products

Now I’ve written it down maybe I’ve bought too many treats Grin

Rebelwithallthecause · 31/05/2020 07:15

Also can’t forget the Peugeot salt and pepper grinders
Matheus have been life changing!!
