Mine was Claire,it was on the radio when I was born.
Luckily I wasn't called it as there where loads of them about.

It surprised me as it’s nothing like the actual name they gave me.

Jason. My mum was convinced I was a boy and I am so glad I’m not, for the name alone if nothing else.

Almost named Sarah. Thank goodness I wasn't and that I was given a pretty name instead.

Judith. I prefer my actual name, although I wish my parents had reversed the order of my first and middle names.

If I had been a boy I would have been Roger or Derek.

Jane or Nia. Wish they’d gone for either of those instead of what they actually did go for.

DD1 was nearly Piper or Joseph, DD2 was never anything else, and DS would have been Lara or Jacob.

I was called something else. My dad registered my birth on the day I was born with my that name. The registra warned him that most people who did that changed their minds.

Sure enough 48 hours later they decided the name didn't suit me, and changed it. There is a column on the birth certificate for name if changed within 12 months of birth.

The names are not dissimilar. Think Catherine and Caroline.

My whole life people have accidentally called me by the wrong name, and it is always the name I was called at first! It happened again yesterday. In zoom meeting with people I don't know, My actual name on screen, and the other person called me the wrong one.

If I’d been a boy then most likely Van as I share a birthday with Van Morrison and my mum is a fan. Even though it isn’t even his real name.

I was meant to be Hanne (with some sort of accent over the e but I forget which). I think it’s Danish/Scandinavian as is my mum. However, my dad forgot the spelling at the registry office so went with Hannah.

My Dad wanted me to be called Samantha or Donna, names he considered "exotic" in 1969. However my mother had other ideas and I was named Tanya. Very exotic for then!

If male I would have been called Andrew.

My brother would have been Nancy if he wasa girl.
That is possibly my least favourite name in the whole world!
