No more worries for a week or two.

rosettesforjill · 26/05/2020 18:38

DH and I have said we'll both go on holiday even if we have to quarantine at home though I'm still hopeful we may not have to as Greece seem v keen for an air bridge. Quarantine would mean DS missing his first two days of Year 1 so I would have to see which would have the bigger fine...

TeacupDrama · 26/05/2020 18:39

we are hoping to go to family in July in England

Footywife · 26/05/2020 18:41

Cruising round the Caribbean in September pleeeeaaaaaase!

DrearyWallAntler · 26/05/2020 18:42

Checked in.

RunningNinja79 · 26/05/2020 18:46

Clicked on this thinking yey another positive thread. Didn't realise it was yet another thread. So here I am checking in Grin

Officially its 12 weeks and 3 days until we go to France. I'm still hopeful.

mbosnz · 26/05/2020 18:46

I don't think I'm a dementor. Is there a quiz or test I can take?!

Allflightscancelled · 26/05/2020 18:48

Hoping for a few days at any time in Dorset. We have a holiday home there (for now at least, DH heard today he's being made redundant Sad) and while I realise this makes me an arsehole in some people's eyes, I'm really sad not to have been there since February. Our elderly neighbour there has been on the phone to us in tears because she's so lonely and ill. Se has other neighbours and also family, but no-one can visit here because she's shielding. I think she'd rather take her chances, to be honest, but her carers won't hear of it Sad

Littlebelina · 26/05/2020 18:51

What is your response when you hear that someone went to the shop just for a pint of milk mbosnz? If it's "oh my God, you murderer. Couldn't you put cheese in your tea instead!" then I'm afraid you are a dementor

Mascotte · 26/05/2020 18:58

@mbosnz have you ever written PEOPLE ARE DYING!!!! in capitals if someone has been for two walks?

Allflightscancelled · 26/05/2020 19:01

I've been to Costco for a tray of pastries today [embarrassed]

And I didn't wear a mask either

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 26/05/2020 19:01

@mbosnz or Stay. The. Fuck. At. Home.

Excessive full stops are not optional, by the way.

NothingIsWrong · 26/05/2020 19:02

Really hoping that Wales lets second home owners back as well. DH wants to take the kids at the end of July...

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 26/05/2020 19:06

I am too scared to even dream of holidays at the moment, although I'm thinking Geneva where we can swim in the lake, then eat those little fish they catch in it with a chilled white wine that someone else brings me then washes up. Heaven!

Allnamesaregone · 26/05/2020 19:11

Checking in with my favourite murdering cult members 🤓

Dollybagwash · 26/05/2020 19:18

Checking in Smile

BarefootHippieChick · 26/05/2020 19:20

Checking in here too! Am hopeful for my holiday in early August, country we're heading to is happily letting people in with no quarantine measures. Have a villa booked too so social distancing no problem! I'm even prepared to learn the language in double quick time so they don't know I'm a Brit 😆

Bananajam · 26/05/2020 19:23

We have flights to South Africa booked in October. I am so hoping we can go, even if it means two weeks quarantine which DH doesn't think will last beyond August. I really, really want to go! I booked it last year and I've been counting down the weeks thinking that the virus might just start to feel like a horrible bad dream come September .

OnItCarBonnet · 26/05/2020 19:23

I cannot wait to book a holiday! Even if I have to fly back via Dublin to get around the stupid 2 week quarantine rule.

In other news, I found this great article on Twitter - an interview with the former Director of Israel’s health ministry. www.spiked-online.com/2020/05/22/nothing-can-justify-this-destruction-of-peoples-lives/

I honestly believe that if this had happened 15-20 years ago, or the virus had originated from a different country, that there would have been no lockdown. In fact, I think most people wouldn’t even be aware of the virus. The media and social media has played a huge role in shaping the strategy, which has meant a ridiculous blanket approach with little focus on protecting the people who are most at risk.

TheGreatWave · 26/05/2020 19:24

I've asked DH to investigate minor roads that cross over where we are less likely to be caught.

justasking111 · 26/05/2020 19:24

Respect to this lady Grin

A woman stripped off and put her knickers over her face after a Ukrainian shop worker refused to serve her without a face mask on.

The unidentified woman was filmed on a CCTV camera at a 'Nova Poshta' post office in Ukraine.

Reports say she came to the post office to pick up a parcel and entered the room without wearing a face mask, which is against the country's quarantine laws.

Spudlet · 26/05/2020 19:25

We’re supposed to be having a UK holiday with extended family in July. I’ve been looking forward to it for ages. Fingers crossed, we’re still on at the moment 🤞🤞🤞

PickAChew · 26/05/2020 19:25

DH has been doing a spot of socially undistanced fence mending with our back neighbour.

TheGreatWave · 26/05/2020 19:26

Oh crap rookie I meant to say the little village of Kielder is ever so lovely, and not too far from Hawick and a nice little drive downnthe Scottish countryside.

Just don't do any illegal camping in Keilder, they don't like that.
