Morning all, well the cafe thread is just about full so here's the new thread.

Just a reminder Florence has made pastries over night, the garden is open with the sensory garden, the cat area (with catnip bush) is available and feel free to cool your feet int the water feature.

What a pain @AlCalavicci.

If you're still around, it feels like an eggy bread day to me.

Morning all.

Did someone mention eggs?

Fried, baked, coddled, scrambled, omeletted, boiled and even Scotched.

Florence has a different bread for each and Fernando is experimenting with eggnogg as well as running the coffee machine.

Packing up today will be scotch egg, salad, cheese and crusty bread.

@MinnieMountain sorry , I went back to bed the got up and had dash about , this has not been the best start to a day .
@sashh
I will grab a pack up too please, it's a while since I have had a scotch egg .
Egg nog bring back mixed memories, as a child I was allowed some as Christmas as made it into a snowball , when I got a bit older ( about 10 ) I thought I would make myself a omelette but we didn't have many eggs , so I used 1 egg and mixed a large glug of advocate in with it and fried the lot.
do not try this at home blurgh

Morning all!

I don't eat eggs so I shall just stuff my face with bread instead.
It's beautiful out today so I shall be out in the sensory garden making the most of it.

Morning all.

Florence is making breakfast muffins, there is also a cold buffet with fruit, olives, tomatoes, breads, pastries.

For the take out - there's some paper bags and Tupperware so select your choice from the buffet.

Fernando is on the coffee machine but is also making take away mocktails.

As we are heading towards winter I've converted one table to an indoor kitten bee retreat where they can come in and play / rest in the warm.

Morning all
Does anyone know what goodies Florence has to offer?
I think I will go the healthiest route for breakfast, muesli yoghurt and a handful of frozen berries irl life I have this as a mid morning snack , I always have a pot of home dried lemon & lime skin in the fridge and a few bits scatted in the yoghurt gives it a real zing.
If you want to make your own
Squeeze as much juice out of the fruit as you can very finely slice the skin , ( don't peel the skin , you need the pith and bits of remaining fruit ) into matchstick slices then cut into length about 3x as long as it is wide. Spread very thinly on a plate / baking sheet / tray and roast on the bottom shelf of a low oven for about 20/ 30 mins , keep checking though as it burns quickly . Pop it in a tub store in the fridge , it keep a for weeks but does continue to dry out a bit.
I use it for alsorts ,
with yoghurt,
in rice a few mins before it's finished cooking ,
in salad ( dont over dry it for salad as it can be a bit hard / chewy )
in cous cous, put a few bits in the water that you are boiling for the CC then tip the lot onto the CC and mix in
Inside chicken
If you are going to re-cook it make sure it is covered with meat / water/ sauce etc or it will dry out more and become bitter.
Generally speaking 5 or 6 tiny pieces are enough ( for me anyway ) per portion of food other wise it can be to over powering.
It works well with oranges and grapefruit too

Ooh x post ( I must learn to finsh writing my post and not get distracted by other stuff )
In that case a big bowl of fruit, and a coffee now and some of that nice looking salami and pastrami with cherry toms and nice bread for lunch .

I am glad the kitten bees have somewhere warm inside to play now , but you need to watch that chewy one or he will be off with that chicken drumstick

Morning all!
How are we all today?

I'll just grab some pastries and a hot chocolate.
Do we know if Fernando is planning on doing seasonal drinks?
When I was in college, the cocktail bar near by used to have a Christmas menu, it was great fun!

Morning all.

A ridiculous early start today so I'll set up these 'overnight oats' people are always talking about.

Sausages and bacon in the slow cooker.

I'm not sure where Florence is, she's not here baking so can someone take over and cook some eggs if I'm not back (asleep).

Packing up is flasks of veg soup and crusty rolls when Florence reappears.

Morning
Soup and rolls sounds perfect for today
Ds has woken up full of a cold so we're off to get walk in test centre to be sure. Hoping there isn't too much of a queue when it opens
Hope you're all ok

Morning again.

Thanks for getting on with the eggs @AlCalavicci fingers crossed it's just a cold @mogloveseggs.

Apparently a couple of kitten bees discovered the cocktail fridge, F and F have been awake all night taking care of them, all the kitten bees seem fine but F and F look shattered, I'll give them the day off, so no cocktails unless it's gin and tonic.

Morning everyone!

Why is it the one morning I don't have to get up early for the next week that I wake up at 7:30 and can't get back to sleep for love nor money.

Soup and a crusty roll sounds delicious!

Poor F&F! Can only imagine chaos they were dealing with.

Fingers crossed it's just a cold @mogloveseggs! Over here if a child needs to be tested the entire household needs to isolate until a negative test. It's going to be a very long winter, so many kids have been tested and school has only been back two weeks.

Morning all

Scrambled eggs and black pudding for me please.

Good luck @mogloveseggs. We don't have a walk in centre or a car, so I'm waiting for a test to come for DS.
