Well I now have the draft planning for our school - and surprisingly with a bit of thought, discussion and planning... it's workable! Fucking hell I mean whoda thought it!

@psychomath There's been lots of people 3D printing visors... do schools have them?
The gloves thing is tricky because HCPs change them between each patient/care activity... not sure how that works when teaching.

Some schools have 3D printers GroEggs but not all (certainly for primary schools it wouldn't be feasible to make their own) and I'm not sure how much the materials cost. My only experience of 3D printed stuff is ordering it online, and it's usually quite expensive.

That's good news Domina. I'm just hoping like hell my school has a sensible head and teachers and they will just make a plan and get it done. They seemed to be committed to staying open up till the closure. I'm trying to stay off the news and all Dementor threads.

Our school have been printing visors! Or somewhere near, advertised in their newsletter

There have definitely been people printing them for the NHS that I know of... then the hospitals etc didn't need them so they were being offered to GPS/pharmacists/local volunteers etc. If staff would feel able to teach with them then that might be an idea, especially as you can see the person's face. You'll need to stock up on soothers though, I can't imagine managing kids is easy on the throat as it is and you have to shout even louder with a full face visor on.

I laugh when the odd dementor wombles in here trying to turn the tide, no chance thank god.

Just knowing some schools are making plans rather than stamping their feet is balm to my soul.

It seems to be our school 'trusts' communicating with us so far, about all the schools in their trust...

The thing is with masks to consider as well is communication, as well. in schools

Keeping a really low profile neighbours either side, one lot teachers retired the others nhs retired, have gone up like a roman candle today on rumours that index linked pensions may be a thing of the past. Well we self employed had to set up our own pensions whereas neighbours either side did not. One couple has two trips to down under Australia business class twice a year, the other couple two trips to USA a year business class.

Isn't the talk of ending index linking about ending the triple lock on the state pension? Which will affect all of us?

Tomorrow is my weekly go out for a long bike ride and sneakily drink coffee. Now I can do it in the open!

DS's school has sent us a survey asking if we'll be sending DC back on 1st June and why. I wish the headteacher could tell us some of the responses at the governors meeting next week

This thread has become my place of sanity. I'm having a very low day and feel close to losing it if I have to read one more comment about how lockdown has become a haven of tranquility as life was so hectic before.

Well I'd prefer a horrifically hectic life compared to the hell of being stuck indoors for 46 fucking days!
