Looking for shoulders to lean on!

@banjaxed I think it said yesterday on week 4 32 minutes running and I also went further. Sorry no stats like you but I have run the same run every day which is in a line and then back so I know comparative distances!

Good luck tomorrow!

Horehound · 28/05/2020 10:42

@banjaxxed hehe yeh we will :)

If your average is 9.1kmh your running pace must be bloody fast. I run at 9 but walk at 5.3 or 5.4
I wonder why they made week three shorter. Week 4 looks long now!

Horehound · 28/05/2020 10:46

Oh and @banjaxxed Nike are doing 30% off everything right now although deffo check against other retailers to make sure you are getting best price from Nike. I was tempted actually. Just if you're interested :)
I had a look and am tempted!

banjaxxed · 28/05/2020 11:02

Hmm just looked at Strava again.

It's telling me I am covering 1km in 9 mins on average so that's not what I said earlier. 2.8km in 25 mins I am confused !!

I am definitely not fast!!

Hello! Can I join? Just done W7R1 this morning. I'm doing it with my mum and loving it!!

Aurora791 · 28/05/2020 12:17

Did Week 8 Run 1 this morning. Absolutely overjoyed that I was able to run for 28 mins without stopping, 3 months ago this just didn’t seem possible. I’ve been running with the running buggy so am not covering 5k even with the warm up and cool down walks, but I don’t care. I’m actually a bit scared to run without the buggy now because it gives me an excuse to go slow and when I’m flagging it gives me the motivation to keep going. @Horehound I think I remember you from the baby threads- you’re doing great! So far C25k has taken me 11 weeks to get to week 8, I’ve been having 2/3 days between each run and had a week off in the middle. Don’t beat yourself up or feel lazy if you don’t manage to get out for a run. My daughter is 6.5’months old now and between sleepless nights and a trashed pelvic floor slow and steady is definitely the way forward for me, otherwise I’d have burnt out and stopped all together!

Forkrightorf · 28/05/2020 13:44

We did week 5 run 3 this morning, I cannot believe I ran for 20 minutes without stopping! I am so proud, I really thought it would be too long but actually it wasn't that hard. Those short runs really do build up your fitness. Well done everyone for plodding on - I love following everyone's progress

OhTheseSummerNiiiiights · 28/05/2020 14:01

Wk 7 R 1- done!

It's so lovely reading all these updates. Whoever came up with this programme really, really knows their stuff. I ran for 30 minutes today- I didn't even come to a grinding halt as soon as Michael started to speak!

Well done us all.

I started today , been meaning to for weeks - is that W1 / R1?

I am now at my office desk aching!

mooching · 28/05/2020 14:22

@Eve well done and welcome! The aches will go and fitness will increase Star

Forkrightorf · 28/05/2020 14:41

Congrats on hitting week 7 @OhTheseSummerNiiiiights - you will have completed it before you know it!
Welcome @Eve I had to push through the aches but don't feel them at all now, it will get easier Smile

Musicalmistress · 28/05/2020 14:51

@SudokuBook you & me both - we rock!!

permanentlyexhaustedpigeon · 28/05/2020 17:01

Hi everyone! Starting week 2 tonight with DD in an attempt to keep her and me moving. DD was very reluctant to begin with but seemed to like the first few so I live in hope!

DinosApple · 28/05/2020 17:57

Just catching up with all the progress.

Tomorrow feels like a big jump as it's Wk5 R3 for me and 20 minutes running. And I've a close family funeral to go to at midday. I want to get the run done first thing and then after the funeral can just be for chilling out.

banjaxxed · 28/05/2020 18:23

@eve the first run is definitely the hardest. In fact I think W1 has been the hardest so far as it's 8 bits of running it seems to take longer

Ohhgreat · 28/05/2020 22:49

Those moving from week 3 to week 4, dont get me wrong it's a big step up but it is definitely doable. I've got w4 run 2 to do tomorrow, I really struggled the final minute of r1 so hoping I manage better this time.
So impressed at those of you on week 7 and 8, they feel so far away right now
Oh and look at sportsshoes for running trainers, got mine on there for half price and they are wide fit too!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 29/05/2020 08:57

My new trainers came, so I will be trying to catch back up after hurting myself earlier in the programme! If you are size 5.5 or under, may I suggest trying children's trainers? I have just got a very nice pair for running; I can't see a difference to the adult ones (may not always be true). They were half the price though!

mooching · 29/05/2020 09:45

@ohhgreat good luck today! Just done W4R2 and it makes you feel great after!

Also thank you to whoever mentioned Strava for tracking speed / distance, wish I had done this in the beginning as I think seeing the difference would be another motivator. Was so pleased to see that my pace was an average of 8.32km/h and my distance almost 4km (I always add a bit of extra walking at the end). I think this is due to fast walking pace instead of fast running so wonder if my pace will slow down the more running I do?!

SudokuBook · 29/05/2020 09:47

I am setting my alarm for 5.30 am tomorrow, want to give myself the best chance of completing week 5 before the weather gets too hot. What has happened to me?! Lol

OhTheseSummerNiiiiights · 29/05/2020 13:21

I always used to go on holiday and boggle at those who were out at 6.30 on thr beach. I absolutely want to do that now. Very strange Grin

Ohhgreat · 29/05/2020 20:31

@mooching I did it! It wasnt as hard as run 1, which surprised me. Possibly because I had a work conference at 9am today so couldnt do Joe Wicks! Covered 2.2miles in total which I'm pleased with. Definitely keeping to the flatter routes for now.

Forkrightorf · 30/05/2020 08:24

W6 r1 done this morning. Didn't make it out til 7.30 so it was already hot, and I had slight hangover Blush so it felt pretty tough but we still managed it. Covered 3.8k which is creeping up slowly.

GuyFawkesDay · 30/05/2020 10:45

W7R2 here today. 8am, already hot!! I really need some better running tops and some decent shorts!!

25 minutes, interrupted by mapmyrun playing silly buggers and I had to have a short walk at the top of one steep hill because I had real vomit fear!! Serves me right for drinking wine lastnight 🤦‍♀️

3.8km covered, average 7:40min/km so that's creeping up. Just very slowly!!!

OhTheseSummerNiiiiights · 30/05/2020 11:15

Aargh, I didn’t have a great morning. My app turned itself off and I couldn’t get into a good rhythm. I did make it about 20 minutes but was really really hot. I’m going to call it a practice run.

I would love to buy shorts but inflicting my arms on the population is bad enough. Plus I know that as soon as I buy anything summery, the good weather will be long gone 😂

OhTheseSummerNiiiiights · 30/05/2020 11:16

I could not run hungover either. Hats off to you!
