Hi everyone! Finished week 5 today! Doing the 20 minute run was hard but doable! I'm sorry @Horehound that it's hard to do it! Well done on everyone's progress ! Love reading everyone's posts!

OhTheseSummerNiiiiights · 03/06/2020 11:49

I have to go on an empty tummy too Bobbin. I like first thing in the morning. Hope you didn’t hurt yourself too badly!

Well done for making 20 minutes Ferrero. That was when I felt I had properly accomplished something.

Wk 7 R3 now complete! I have even mastered turning a corner now. Before I could only go in a straight line Grin that tells you how sporty I am!

Forkrightorf · 04/06/2020 07:35

W6 R3 completes this morning, we covered 4.3k so getting there! Took a different route today which had a few hills so I really feel like I pushed myself for the whole 25 mins. DS was thoroughly puffed out Grin
Hope you're ok @Horehound Thanks we all have crappy days, especially when DC muck about with their naps!

Horehound · 04/06/2020 09:49

Aw thanks everyone. I feel better today and yesterday..got more sleep and that really helps!

Hoping to do w4 R1 today eek!

banjaxxed · 04/06/2020 16:21

Go for it @Horehound

I did run 3 today - much better now it's cooler and in the morning!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 04/06/2020 18:41

Week 5 Run 1 smashed! Much better without eating first.

Ohhgreat · 04/06/2020 19:13

Week 5 run 2 done, I'm one ahead of you @bobbinthreadbare123! I definitely felt proud to run for 16mins, but the next run still feels like a big leap. 20mins....

OhTheseSummerNiiiiights · 04/06/2020 19:22

The way I made 20 minutes was through realising my favourite song is 5 minutes- four of them and voila!

Hi all - looking for some advice really. I posted a couple of weeks ago that I'd hurt my Achilles' tendon. I can happily report that (finally!) I tried it out today for the first time without pain and am about to resume the C25K programme.

I had previously got up to Week 7, but haven't trained for 3 weeks due to injury. I have literally done no exercise other than fairly short walks as I wanted to give it time to heal.

How many weeks back do you think I should go through the programme, bearing in mind general fitness more than the injury (because if that even twinges again, I'll stop straight away)? How much do you think my fitness will have dropped in 3 weeks?

Ohhgreat · 06/06/2020 09:01

Today is the day, week 5 run 3....dreading it!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 06/06/2020 13:32

I've just done my Week 5 Run 2. Not bad at all. I need to do some new routes though because I'm getting quite far now. I also think I either swallowed a fly or a small leaf half way round - teach me to keep my gob shut!

OhTheseSummerNiiiiights · 06/06/2020 14:39

How did you get on ohgreat?

Well done Bobbin! Nearly week 6!

I am temporarily sidelined. Did a work out with DD in the spirit of mother-daughter bonding and I slightly overdid things. My thighs no longer allow me to move. Agony. Sheer agony!

OP posts:
Ohhgreat · 06/06/2020 15:18

Well done @BobbinThreadbare123 - though I dont envy you the fly!
I managed my 20min run! Genuinely didnt think I would! I definitely went at a snail's place though. Week 6 here I come...

Forkrightorf · 07/06/2020 07:30

Well done @Ohhgreat that first 20 minute is such a turning point! I couldn't believe I'd done it either. We started week 7 yesterday, all good but I wish there were less hills where I live!

Ohhgreat · 07/06/2020 08:42

I definitely dont envy you the hills, I've been running a relatively flat route round our village, I reckon I can make it up to 3 miles with minimal hills, after that I either start running loops or I have to tackle the huge hill at either end! Well done on getting to week 7, the finish line is in sight!

Ohhgreat · 07/06/2020 08:43

@OhTheseSummerNiiiiights hope your legs are recovering!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 08/06/2020 18:16

Thanks everyone. I've just done Week 5 Run 3. Solid 20 mins without pause - check! No flies today but I know which leggings I am never running in again! Tried to fall down, no drawstring.
KOKO!

OhTheseSummerNiiiiights · 08/06/2020 18:55

Woohoo! Well done you!

I had hoped the agony was the fat burning. Fat’s still there but I can bend down now. Ah well.

Wk 8 R1 done again- technically on 2 but I’m going to redo the one I had paused at the weekend. The forecast here looks pretty grim again though. Hopefully will still get out!

OP posts:
Ohhgreat · 08/06/2020 19:16

Well done @BobbinThreadbare123 and @ohthesesummerniiights
Week 6 run 1 done today, my legs felt like lead before the run so I knew it would be hard. Still it's done. Hopefully next one will be easier...

banjaxxed · 10/06/2020 09:45

The dreaded W5R3 all done! 20 minutes!

It wasn't fast by any means but I did it Grin

Horehound · 10/06/2020 09:53

Well done @banjaxxed

I still haven't even done wk4r1 so I think I'll have to re do week three. Just haven't had time!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 10/06/2020 10:09

Well done everyone! I have just done Wk6 Run 1 which was pretty reasonable after the solid block of Wk5 Run 3. It was only mizzling with rain when I went out though and then it started chucking down - first run in bad rain for me!

FerreroRocherAreAmazing · 10/06/2020 11:40

Well done @banjaxxed and @BobbinThreadbare123 on your runs. I just finished week 6 run 2 and it seemed slightly easier but i get to a point where i am like I cant go on , but once i am past that point i am fine? Anyone else have that? Its supposed to rain a lot so hopefully the rain doesn't impact our runs!!

DinosApple · 10/06/2020 12:09

I did Wk7 R2 last night, and was really pleased with my progress, sped up for the last minute, then tripped and slid spectacularly in the road.

I had to walk home with fists full of blood, dripping from both hands, and a cut knee. At least I wasn't at my furthest point.

DH helped me clean up, trimmed back the skin from the heel of my worst hand, picked the grit out for two hours, all whist I sobbed and shook. All bandaged up now, but still bloody painful.

I'll probably have a couple of days off, and get some gloves for when my hands have healed.

Spectacular, but not for the right reasons!

banjaxxed · 10/06/2020 12:29

@FerreroRocherAreAmazing I have that too. I think it's about getting into the pattern and your lungs/muscles catching up almost!! I find the first bit the hardest but can get through the middle and late sections
