So thinking ahead of things to look forward to, what is the first restaurant you'll be going to and what will you be ordering?

Pho

Nixen · 26/04/2020 17:45

Definitely a carvery and a McDonald’s too 😋 will start thinking about what I’d like for my lunch first day back in the office...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 26/04/2020 17:45

McDonald’s breakfast.
My husband and I were due to stay in a yurt on site at a local restaurant and get thoroughly sloshed on cocktails and eat the most delicious food but lockdown was announced the day before. They’ve kept our deposit ready for us to rebook as soon as we can.

listsandbudgets · 26/04/2020 17:50

I think I'll be sneaking out BY MYSELF to anywhere that serves lovely coffee and cake.

More likely a family trip to a particular Japanese resturant that we're all missing

listsandbudgets · 26/04/2020 17:51

brozzwings pho are on deliveroo :)

ClaraClackers · 26/04/2020 17:53

I live in the New Forest and I'll be going to La Pergola in Lyndhurst. It's amazing!

browzingss · 26/04/2020 17:54

Hoping McDonald’s will reopen a handful restaurants soon, like pret and kfc has, even if it’s just for Uber eats/drive thru. They will probably have unprecedented demand though, making it potentially unsafe for staff, so doubt it will happen

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/04/2020 17:54

When I feel comfortable enough to go somewhere busy, Wagamama.

Close to home first though so our local pub, its ever disappointed me yet. I will savour the warm atmosphere even more than I used to.

ClaraClackers · 26/04/2020 17:55

Oh and I'll be having one of their divine fish specials like swordfish or halibut with lemon and garlic followed by one of their lush puddings like orange meringue roulade.

EverythingChanges321 · 26/04/2020 17:55

Never eat out normally or buy takeaways because there’s none nearby, so not really missing it to be honest.

SturdyFriend · 26/04/2020 18:02

Local cafe for a massive fry up with hot strong tea.

iklboo · 26/04/2020 18:02

Actually, scratch that. We'll take DS to The Ivy Manchester. DH & I went last year and we know he'll love it.

GinghamStyle · 26/04/2020 18:09

I’m looking forward to:

Lunch date with my friend at a local cafe for their fantastic burger with cheese and bacon and fries.

McDonalds and Pizza Hut with DS

Mapril · 26/04/2020 18:17

We have a really good steak restaurant within walking distance. When it’s reopened, and I’m allowed, I will be having fillet steak with blue cheese sauce, truffle parmesan fries and tender stem broccoli.

And then the next day, I’ll be visiting Maccy Dees for two cheeseburgers, medium fries, a small coke and a chocolate milkshake.

And at some point we’ll be at our local for a pint, and a couple of their incredible pork pies.

Sigh.

cricketmum84 · 26/04/2020 18:47

Local Indian. They are family run and all absolutely lovely. They do a buffet on a Friday and Saturday night, BYOB and everything is just delicious 😍

Changingmyname1234 · 26/04/2020 18:57

Wierdly not missing eating out as much as I thought I would. Usually ate out about once a week or fortnight. Probably tapas or small plates somewhere fancy if I had to choose.

Fuckinellitsme · 26/04/2020 19:03

I'm poised to book a trip to Manchester (even though we're at the opposite end of the UK pretty much) as soon as this is all over, and the main reason is so me and DH can get pizza from Crazy Pedro's. And a pint or five at the Marble Arch first.

Crunchymum · 26/04/2020 20:20

Dishoom (Kings Cross!) with my besties.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 26/04/2020 20:33

The italian place that opened a month before lockdown, or the art centre brunch.

user1471453601 · 26/04/2020 20:44

A little Italian place I went to in my small town. I went to a furniture store to buy a particular item of furniture, and they had a sale on.

After coming out, I passed this particular restaurant, hardly anyone in it, I was peckished, but not hungry. On a whim, I went in and ordered only a tomato and mozerrla salad, with a side of garlic bread.

Gorgeous food. I just hope they survive for their sake and because I want that meal again

underneaththeash · 26/04/2020 20:48

Le still owe some friends a Le a Gavroche dinner - although we’ve lost so much money that it may need to be lunch!

MrsPworkingmummy · 26/04/2020 20:49

Depending on how quickly we can get a babysitter, or how long we can get one for, we'll be going to:

House of Tides (Newcastle)
The Ship on the Shore (Leith)
Or
The Old Keswickian Fish and Chip Shop in Keswick

Justonedayatatime11 · 26/04/2020 21:13

Benedicts, Norwich, for the amazing tasting menu. It's out of this world

Electrical · 26/04/2020 21:59

I can’t imagine many places at all will survive the distancing measures that’ll be required for the rest of the year. Places only seating a third of the usual amount, 2metres apart, staff having to get up close to set food down, etc. People getting angry because they can’t sit there for hours as the place needs very high turnaround time to try to get more people in, distantly. The hospitality industry won’t survive, a few takeaway chains and drive throughs.

formerbabe · 26/04/2020 22:03

Anywhere where my dc will eat the food...I don't care what food it is..I'm just fed up of constantly cooking meals
