So thinking ahead of things to look forward to, what is the first restaurant you'll be going to and what will you be ordering?

Torino lounge
Kids want a Pizza Hut

Whatevah · 26/04/2020 09:35

Eddie Rockets veggie burger, I need one so badly!
Kids will dash to McDs once it’s back.

Helen Brownings Royal Oak AKA the Piggy Pub

They are open for selling meat and veg but a too far to take advantage of

Favourite Japanese restaurant has just reopened for deliveries thank god, so we can get our fix, and our local Italian is also delivering. It will be nice to go in person though.

MrsEricBana · 26/04/2020 09:38

My favourite cafe for a cuppa! I'll sprint there. And I don't have a habit of running. Sometimes I was past it with the dog and look at it wistfully. 🐕☕

Seafood. Crabshakk. Glasgow.

Otterseatpuffinsdontthey · 26/04/2020 09:40

Or - Seafood. Gamba. Glasgow.

DaisylovesDonald · 26/04/2020 09:43

Keeping it simple - Pizza Express. We have 2 young children and go nearly every week. I really miss it - it was such a part of our routine life!

trufflepuff300 · 26/04/2020 09:44

Dim sum at Imperial China or Dumplings Legend in Chinatown (London).

Clementine8 · 26/04/2020 09:44

We have loads of independent restaurants here that I’d struggle to choose from but probably finca for bunuelos and maybe a cubana

ellanwood · 26/04/2020 09:47

Our local Cafe Rouge does an amazing veggie breakfast - it's in a gorgeous setting beside some ponds, with a garden. DC are longing for a romp through the woods to have breakfast there like we used to.

But had hoped to jointly celebrate our 25th wedding and DS's 18th with dinner somewhere like The River Cafe in London so that's what I'm dreaming of...

Shadow01 · 26/04/2020 09:49

There’s a pub that does the best sausage baguettes - it’ll be my first stop with my brother Smile

circusintown · 26/04/2020 09:50

I'd never heard of Bills and it's had several mentions here. One to add to the list.

MaggieTheFrog · 26/04/2020 09:53

Favourite fish and chip shop at our local beach. Can not wait Smile

Cookie79 · 26/04/2020 09:54

Nutters for afternoon tea and a bucketful of champagne. DD also wants to go to a deli near us that has the best dinky pork and beef pies.

LeonoraFlorence · 26/04/2020 09:54

My DDs are desperate to get back to TGI Fridays so we will go there Smile.

theclangersbigplan · 26/04/2020 09:56

Local independent sushi place

lastqueenofscotland · 26/04/2020 09:57

There is a pub in the student bit of my city that does a vegan philly cheese steak so I’ll be getting one of them. Its also independent so I get to feel more smug about it

Then Greggs. God I’m going to eat so much Greggs.

thelikelylass · 26/04/2020 09:58

Our local Italian restaurant, we will greet each other like family, we will order our usual favourite pasta dishes with a carafe of wine, the best garlic bread I have ever tasted. We will then share a banana split, and then a complimentary drink will be sent over to the table. We will salute them and be so bloody grateful that they have have opened and their business can survive.

Mixitupalot · 26/04/2020 09:59

There’s the most beautiful fine dining restaurant a few miles away from us, we only go for special occasions but I’ll be straight there with DH. It’s fantastic, wine pairing & the best steak I’ve ever had & an array of handmade pastries for dessert.

Kids will want McDonalds 🤦‍♀️ & possibly a Chinese.

thelikelylass · 26/04/2020 09:59

(oh and a massive tip for the staff.)

ScorpionQueen · 26/04/2020 10:00

@lastqueenofscotland
Iceland do Gregg's. It's not exactly the same but it's close enough.

I'll be going for an Indian Banquet night and a Sunday Roast. Not on the same day.

30not13 · 26/04/2020 10:02

You can keep your posh restaurants, chinesectakeaways and fast food places.

Mine is a local coffee shop that makes the most amazing cheese scones that are the size of a can of coke 🤗

ExpletiveDelighted · 26/04/2020 10:04

Our local Italian, I really hope it survives.

30not13 · 26/04/2020 10:05

@lastqueenofscotland tesco sell nacho cheese (&bean) bakes in the freezers.
