So thinking ahead of things to look forward to, what is the first restaurant you'll be going to and what will you be ordering?

Well I'll probably have to go physically back to work, so I can see a massive team breakfast in the greasy spoon round the corner happening Smile

iklboo · 26/04/2020 15:05

Either the local Italian place or the Turkish one. Both really lovely.

SpeckledyHen · 26/04/2020 15:07

Tom Kerridge's ‘ pub’ The Coach in Marlow. Incredible food .

magicstar1 · 26/04/2020 15:12

@NaomiFromMilkShake

We love the chowder from Octopussy’s...all the tapas actually. Also the seafood platter in Deep, but they closed down recently.

imsooverthisdrama · 26/04/2020 15:13

A carvery in my local pub , and a couple of glasses of white wine with my family. I can't wait. WineWine

BoogleMcGroogle · 26/04/2020 15:15

Ooh. Great thread! Saturday sundown shellfish platter at our local seaside shack. And then an excessive Sunday lunch at Rules.

Yokohamajojo · 26/04/2020 15:17

Our local pub! Was so looking forward to better weather and their beer garden! Will order "filthy chips" and a pint

Rebelwithallthecause · 26/04/2020 15:27

On my hit list -

Prime steak
Pizza express
Belgo
McDonald’s

HeronLanyon · 26/04/2020 15:28

Benares or cinnamon club possibly hakkasan but tables are very crushed in there !
I’ve been doing restaurant Fridays with dp. Menu around 3 pm (limited choice) 🤣 order taken with drinks order and a cocktail then. Then waiter service after cooking. Lots of annoying ‘would you like bread ?’ Etc. Plus drinks. Plus pushing more drinks for profit. Plus annoying topping up of water and taking the top away. Plus on the spot dessert choices. No bill though !
We swap weeks. Kind of fun for a few but it’s wearing thin and I would love a real restaurant !!!!

MissHoskins · 26/04/2020 15:28

We'll go to O Barradas, it's a 10 minute drive away and they do the best John Dory, baked in the oven with garlic and capers, Algarvian potatoes and fresh veg. Then chocolate mousse

ladykuga · 26/04/2020 15:31

Wagamama. I miss their cod and black noodles soooooooo much.

ivfbabymomma1 · 26/04/2020 15:35

My favourite Chinese and Indian restaurants are both doing takeaway.. so probably something like a McDonald's which I can't have now? Or maybe our fave independent beach front restaurant! I also miss yo sushi! And tapas! Oh god I want it all now!! & A nice Sunday dinner somewhere!

Stelmariah · 26/04/2020 15:38

Five guys! I am not good at making burgers (they either end up dry, overfried or still raw inside) but their little hamburger is amazing with all that added bits inside the bun. And their fries are just perfect.

mbosnz · 26/04/2020 15:41

I love our local Italian, that's a definite contender. Lovely food, lovely people, lovely service, they recognise us now, even though we've only been a few times.

Or our local Cote, which does lovely food, and we've got to know the staff so well.

Then there's our lame duck of a pub, which can be very much like being in one of the more chaotic episodes of Fawlty Towers - but they'll pan fry the fish for our coeliac daughter, and each manager and chef that has come on new, has made sure that the next one can and will continue to do so!

There's our lovely Thai, they're such pleasant ladies, and the food is exquisite.

Or the Korean BBQ place. .

The girls are jonesing for Maccas and KFC.

So hard to choose!

Bluntness100 · 26/04/2020 15:48

Our local pub, it’s owned by a fab chef and the food is amazing. Although I’ll prob have steak and salad, and a lot of white Rioja.

SenecaFallsRedux · 26/04/2020 15:48

I live in Florida. Our favorite neighborhood seafood restaurant will be first on the list. Fried shrimp, cole slaw, and hush puppies for me.

Talulahoopla · 26/04/2020 15:51

Hopefully somewhere we can sit outside and have a large wine in the sunshine. We had booked a riverside restaurant for mother's day but was cancelled because of lockdown. Definitely first on the list for family gathering when this is all over, if we can get a reservation that is!

TheVanguardSix · 26/04/2020 15:53

McDonalds and my friend's gorgeous Lebanese restaurant (if it's still open!). There is no place like her family restaurant! The food is the food of gods!
I'd also get a cake from Caffe Concerto. We only get them for birthdays, but dammit, this is a good enough reason to pay an extortionate price for the most glorious cake!
No shame! Grin

TheVanguardSix · 26/04/2020 15:54

Fried shrimp, cole slaw, and hush puppies for me.
Oh yum!!! I could do with that right now! That's like a Last Supper worthy meal right there! Smile

BobbinThreadbare123 · 26/04/2020 16:02

Ohhh I've got a huge list! There's two in Windermere that we go to regularly and they will need everyone's business back. Will have to drive 20/30 miles to somewhere for a KFC too.

Fleamaker123 · 26/04/2020 16:03

Local Chinese restaurant for a full banquet, hot and sour soup, crispy duck... the works! I never want to see baked beans or fish fingers again.

Sleepyquest · 26/04/2020 16:14

Anywhere and everywhere!!
Would love a wagamamas, pizza express, a costa coffee even! I change my mind daily on where I will make a beeline to x

GoodyAdultHumanFemale · 26/04/2020 16:15

Fazenda. We looked forward to DS's birthday there for almost a year and they closed the week before.
