So thinking ahead of things to look forward to, what is the first restaurant you'll be going to and what will you be ordering?

I haven’t missed eating out but I’ll be going to our village pub to sit in the beer garden with a pint of shandy.

BikeRunSki · 26/04/2020 10:07

We’ve talked about this!
DD - Yo Sushi
DS - local Italian
DH - artisan burger place in next town
Me - I’d cycle to my favourite cafe and have their Vegan platter or veggie breakfast, depending on the time of day/weather/how I’m feeling.

Obviously, this is if all those independent places survive lock down.

BogRollBOGOF · 26/04/2020 10:13

Probably McDonalds.
Love a good McBreakfast after parkrun Grin

RiverCrossing · 26/04/2020 10:16

There’s a an independent burger restaurant in my city that does amazing burgers and poutine - I have been reading the menu this morning as it happens 🤣

Duchessofealing · 26/04/2020 10:18

Also the Walpole! And Hawksmoor and Hakkasan and Claridges bar for cocktails and local restaurant Tiramisu for breakfast. And local Spanish Tapelia who are doing takeout but like PP I want to go out and roll home

Dinosauraddict · 26/04/2020 10:22

I have two - Nandos and my fav local sushi place!

AuntieMarys · 26/04/2020 10:23

Spanish restaurant in town

SuperPixie247 · 26/04/2020 10:27

Bills for breakfast for their amazing pancakes. Fazenda in the evening.

TravellingSpoon · 26/04/2020 10:27

Wagamama. I have been dreaming about if for ages. Its DD's favourite too.

boomchikawowwow · 26/04/2020 10:30

Probably somewhere junk food style. Taco Bell or McDonald's.

Fudgewhizz · 26/04/2020 10:30

The really lovely very posh restaurant my mum bought us vouchers for and we were waiting for my morning sickness to abate before we went :( Hope we can get there before they expire...

Oakmaiden · 26/04/2020 10:30

I'd fucking kill for a Burger King Whopper at the moment.

I don't even have them very often, but the thought popped into my head about a week ago and the need just grows every day.

Bizarre.

blettedmedlar · 26/04/2020 10:30

The Moorcock Inn. Sublime food.

circusintown · 26/04/2020 10:36

@blettedmedlar which one? Sowerby?

blettedmedlar · 26/04/2020 10:38

@circusintown yes!

YesILikeItToo · 26/04/2020 10:38

We’ve agreed to all go to separate coffee shops. It’ll be DD’s first time alone in a coffee shop, but luckily the area is well provided for with places that are near each other. I’m getting Starbucks.

ellanwood · 26/04/2020 10:41

@Duchessofealing - one of the last places I went before lockdown was Claridges cocktail bar. Had champagne with friends. We were talking about it on the phone the other day - how glad we were that we'd gone spontaneously to celebrate a bit of good news, without realising how very privileged we were to have that freedom.

userxx · 26/04/2020 10:43

@Oakmaiden 🤣🤣🤣 glad its not just me!

Ninkanink · 26/04/2020 10:43

Our favourite restaurant on the beach front in Bournemouth (it’s mostly the view of the sea that makes it, although the food is pretty good too). We’ll have a big platter of oysters and some perfect French fries, and some bubbly.

Or maybe Rick Stein’s in Sandbanks.

Otherwise, our local Italian restaurant for one of their huge pizzas.

Ninkanink · 26/04/2020 10:45

But tbf, the actual first restaurant visit will definitely be the drive through at McDonald’s (two minutes away from us)! 😆

anguauberwaldironfoundersson · 26/04/2020 10:45

Almost Famous. I've been dreaming of their burgers and bacon bacon fries.

snowstorm2012 · 26/04/2020 10:46

A lovely steak restaurant near us called Lomitos but the reality with finances - KFC or McDonalds Grin

BearSoFair · 26/04/2020 10:49

Small pizza place tucked away behind the main high st. We'd never got around to going in but had pizzas delivered the other week and they were lovely!

LittleBearPad · 26/04/2020 10:50

Wagamamas if the children have any say.

Ninkanink · 26/04/2020 10:52

It would have been our local Spanish Steakhouse, hands down no question about it! But they closed a few years ago. I’m still mourning it.😭😭
