What's your household bought since lockdown?

Obviously food, also wine, lager, a couple of magazines, compost and plants all from supermarket.

DH ordered some essential gadget for work. I ordered a pair of sandles (had same ones two years ago and they were so comfortable) and DD some shorts for running. Desperately need some summer slippers. Feel bad about ordering these as it's increasing contact for others, but I guess they have to work, so had a dilemma.

This isn't a judgemental thread, but out of interest.

Groceries, a mud kitchen for youngest DS's birthday, compost and plants.

EdHelpPls · 24/04/2020 19:16

New washing machine as mine developed an expensive error. :(

New shoes for the kids (only one really needed urgently but figured it’d be better just getting for both in one shipment.)

A kindle fire so kids could do schoolwork etc on it.

Some books, multivitamins and chalk for the kids.

Multiple orders of fabric etc for making masks and scrubs.

AmelieTaylor · 24/04/2020 19:36

@Amicompletelyinsane

We have children. We have ordered things like bulk pet food

Err are you struggling to get to the supermarket??😳

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/04/2020 19:45

Some trainers for running, I was due a pair anyway and just missed getting them before lockdown. My hips were starting to hurt so I ordered direct from Hoka
We ordered some wood from wickes click and collect as we have removed a fence and need a temporary something in place until we can get someone to do it.
Wine from Sunday times wine club although that came anyway on the schedule plan, normally we cancel it but we gratefully accepted it this time!

I ordered some sketchers sandals today, I was desperate for some last year and couldn't find them so I have ordered some this year.

Plants delivered from local nursery

Meat from local butcher

Plus usual shopping. Within the shopping I have bought shorts for ds and this week now I have been paid will need to buy some for Dd too.

BestOption · 24/04/2020 20:06

I bought a lot before lock down when it was obvious it was coming.

Since....

Printer ink
Couple of books
Another oximeter (first one was faulty & replacement never turned up)

Another bloody charger cable

Had ordered coffee, but need to order more (pads for Senseo)

I've read posts from people saying they want to keep their jobs in warehouses & doing deliveries & others saying 'please don't order' so I can't decide, so I'm trying to order 'mindfully'. I think that's the best I can do

Your thread title made me think of this.

What's your household bought since lockdown?
Ursaminor · 24/04/2020 20:46

2 small megaphones plus batteries - so my hard of hearing mum can speak with her self isolating neighbour at a distance across the back green!

Nanalisa60 · 24/04/2020 20:49

Two cases of wine!!

UponTheBlueGuitar · 24/04/2020 20:58

Some printer ink, potting mix and a three-pack of knickers. Also an egg beater, but it won't come out of the box till flour and cocoa turn up on the supermarket shelves again.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 24/04/2020 20:58

Ursa, can just picture that Grin

We’ve bought few tech bits for the kids to keep them entertained and other odds and ends but tried to add onto essential item orders to keep deliveries to a minimum. Lots of emails from stores promoting online shopping and we still need an economy after this.

pastaparadise · 24/04/2020 20:59

I avoided getting anything the first few weeks, but since bought

  • phonics book from 2nd hand book shop
  • few toys from local toy shop
  • crocs for dc
  • some toiletries for me ( my hands are so dry from all the washing).

Dp has bought a few things from Amazon but I'm trying to avoid them

silentpool · 24/04/2020 21:12

Lots:

A rug for the living room (sale)
Some decorative bits from IKEA
A drill
F & B Paint to paint furniture
Some plants
A summerweight wool duvet (sale)

I am not buying new clothes at the moment. But seeing as I am locked in my flat, I am using my time to make it nice.

AngryPrincess · 24/04/2020 21:15

Litthefirealready · 24/04/2020 21:24

Birthday presents for ds, bike gloves and some led strip lighting (not very exciting but will wait till after lockdown for a bike jacket), a bathroom storage box to hide ugly bleach bottles, some gerbil bedding, cards from thortful.

We’ve done the usual Tesco shop and I bought some solar garden lights and a book while in there. Oh, and hair shaver thingy.

Have got to buy presents for ds9 and a dog brush.

breakingbetter · 24/04/2020 21:24

We have deliveries everyday, sometimes multiple. Lockdown has finally freed up money for us to do things in the house, buy DD's summer wardrobe (which she needed regardless), and buy some nice things for ourselves.

Bertucci · 24/04/2020 21:25

Lawnmower, plants, compost, trainers, gym gear, cosmetics, vitamins, clothes, new bedding, candles, cases of wine, flowers (Freddie's flowers once a week), books.

Now eyeing up a pizza oven for the garden.

Basically, a lot.
