What's your household bought since lockdown?

Obviously food, also wine, lager, a couple of magazines, compost and plants all from supermarket.

DH ordered some essential gadget for work. I ordered a pair of sandles (had same ones two years ago and they were so comfortable) and DD some shorts for running. Desperately need some summer slippers. Feel bad about ordering these as it's increasing contact for others, but I guess they have to work, so had a dilemma.

This isn't a judgemental thread, but out of interest.

Extra to usual supermarket delivery and veg bos:

Case of wine.
Shampoo and Conditioner for DD (10)
Ice cube trays
Oximeter
Brownie Tin
Garden Broom
Book for each DC.

That's it since lockdown, but I did stock up on board games, stationery and pens just before we went into lockdown.

2 new tops
Various small bits from Amazon

2 Cloth face masks from eBay
Handyband scarf from Seasalt

Lots of booze, obvs!

My DH has bought some hair clippers.

I’ve bought several make up items, a handbag, and a piece of jewellery. All early birthday presents for myself (my birthday’s in May). I’ve got my eye on another lipstick and possibly a perfume too.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 24/04/2020 17:08

Dh has bought
Coffee
A book for himself
Some nougat and some meaty type stuff
A scooter for dc1's birthday

SciFiScream · 24/04/2020 17:13

We've not bought anything we weren't planning on buying anyway and/or super cheap.

In addition to food we've bought:

Water bottles x 4 (planned replacement as ALL of water bottles leak)
A cheap computer game from eBay £4

That's it.

Our food bill has gone up considerably

Holothane · 24/04/2020 17:19

Our kettle died so new one, gtech hoover which for us being disabled is a godsend, new bedding, single duvets now, easier for me to change cds and kindle books loads of big finish dr who audio.

Fifthtimelucky · 24/04/2020 17:39

Absolutely nothing except groceries at this stage.

Ninkanink · 24/04/2020 17:41

Oh and kindle books!

planningaheadtoday · 24/04/2020 17:43

Far too much non essential stuff.
The boys/men in our household have bought an eye watering amount of gadgets in the name of lockdown boredom. Namely: Oculus Quest, archery bows and target, Nintendo switch, BB gun pellets and targets......
Boys and toys.

I have bought fabric and scrubs patterns.
And compost and seeds and other things to grow food.

TheVanguardSix · 24/04/2020 17:44

Nothing different really to what we normally buy, just more food than usual with everyone home.

Mdmross · 24/04/2020 17:48

Hair clippers.

Spudlet · 24/04/2020 17:50

A couple of pairs of running shorts for myself.

Also for myself, a jumpsuit - first frivolous piece of clothing I’ve bought in more than a year!
Some bits and bobs for my sewing machine, I’m making scrub hats and laundry bags for the NHS and needed some new needles, that sort of thing.
Some new blades for the clippers for home haircuts and dog shaving (DH is determined that we will use the dog clippers on him 😱).
A polo shirt for ds to keep the sun off his neck - he’s growing like a weed so will need more new clothes soon. He’s grown out of his proper shoes but fortunately last year’s Crocs still fit him so he does have some footwear until the shoe shops reopen.

Replacement straps for the bike seat on DH’s bike - going for bike rides is DS’s favourite thing and DH’s exercise in one.

So quite a lot really, but that should be it for a good while.

sadforthekoalas · 24/04/2020 17:51

A hammock.

I felt a bit guilty but the store was delivering so I justified maybe it keeps people in jobs?

Ilikeanimalsmorethanpeople · 24/04/2020 17:52

2kg bag of pick n mix
Gel nail kit
Clothes
Birthday Presents for friends and family
Prana massage mat

When it's all listed it doesn't actually seem that bad although I did go to wilkos for essentials and ended up with lots of shit I don't need such as candles and cushions Hmm

SunshineCake · 24/04/2020 18:01

If anyone is missing magazines then the Readly app is very good. I think it is about £7 a month.

Umnoway · 24/04/2020 18:07

DIY stuff like paint, scraper, wall filler so we can decorate the DC’s bedrooms before our baby arrives in July.
Some gardening things, mostly just compost.

I bought all of DD’s birthday presents, it’s in early June but I reckon lockdown will still be in place by then.

Bought some things for the new baby too and got my DC some much needed shorts and T-shirt’s for the warmer weather. Also bought myself some new clothes because none of mine really fit.

joystir59 · 24/04/2020 18:13

Loads of toilet paper flour bleach pasta and paracetamol. Grin

joystir59 · 24/04/2020 18:14

And some post Apocalyptic novels

lljkk · 24/04/2020 18:18

DD bought clothes. This blows my mind. where will she wear them? She only goes out to go running & mooches around in a lot of my old clothes. Everything £5. Whatevs

DS bought a Switch-Lite coz the proper Switch wasn't available. He is actually a key worker & goes out but doesn't need anything else... except sweets. He buys too many sweets.

Me & DH: nothing I can think of.

CelestialSpanking · 24/04/2020 18:23

Some birthday presents for my youngest
Paddling pool and garden chairs- moved here a few months ago and had chucked out all our garden stuff at the previous house

AuditAngel · 24/04/2020 18:26

Badminton rackets, shuttlecocks and net
New giant tennis ball as the dog popped the one we had
New reclining chair for the garden. Need to order a second.
Various school supplies
Stylus for iPad
Soda stream (rather than buying fizzy water)
Glasses cleaning kit (Having to wear them all the time now following a corneal ulcer)
New long handled dust pans and brushes, one upstairs, one down
Danish oil for the patio table
3 new chests of drawers to replace 2 broken ones

MrsMartinKemp · 24/04/2020 18:27

A swing
Wendy house
Paddling pool
Nerf gun

FatherWindyShepherdHenderson · 24/04/2020 18:33

A few new clothes as I’ve lost a considerable bit of weight that meant my current clothes were looking ridiculous on me as they were too big.

I’ve also just treated myself to an iWatch to track and keep my motivation going in my fitness and weight loss regime. Lockdown is certainly helping as there are no takeaway temptations (my favourites are all closed)! 🤣

lachy · 24/04/2020 18:47

Quite a lot...

Office chair
PC monitor
Loft boards
Plants for the hanging baskets
Attic 24 blanket kit
Disney+
Craft bits for DD

I'd been my future friend last summer and bought all DD'S clothes for this summer, shame I didn't do the same for myself!

Dk20 · 24/04/2020 19:06

Had to get lots of stuff for 10 month old.
Hes outgrown his clothes so had to get clothes in the next size up.
Hes outgrown his crib so had to get a mattress for the cot to move him in there.
Had to get a playpen as I am WFH and hes started crawling. My ds (6) looks after him when I have to take a work call so at least I know baby is safe in the playpen for that time.
Had to get both kids sun hats as it's been so sunny.
I'm holding off buying a printer for as long as I can but dont think I can last much longer.
