What's your household bought since lockdown?

Obviously food, also wine, lager, a couple of magazines, compost and plants all from supermarket.

DH ordered some essential gadget for work. I ordered a pair of sandles (had same ones two years ago and they were so comfortable) and DD some shorts for running. Desperately need some summer slippers. Feel bad about ordering these as it's increasing contact for others, but I guess they have to work, so had a dilemma.

This isn't a judgemental thread, but out of interest.

A wifi extender, dishwasher (ours started leaking), a rug (had cleared our bedroom well before lockdown including removing the carpet), books for my DS that are on his reading list from school.

TwoBlueFish · 24/04/2020 11:07

Oh and hair clippers for lockdown haircuts.

Lots of garden toys for DS
Some kitchen bits as we just had a new kitchen done before lockdown
Lots of wine & beer
Garden fence paint
Paint for the bathroom
Crafty bits
Some new pjs and "loungewear"

I think that's it?

Bbq1 · 24/04/2020 11:09

Books, birthday gifts (online), skincare, clothes and shoes from my catalogue. Dh has bought a bike from a local shop.

Rebelwithallthecause · 24/04/2020 11:10

Very tempted by the mulberry factory outlet but being on maternity leave and not even needing a bag would make that a very bad purchase

Morgan12 · 24/04/2020 11:10

I have spent around 19.5 million on food so haven't bought much else.

Amongst several other things I have bought for the first time ever, a thermometer! I've had a bp machine for ages and they are well worth the few ££'s but taking my own temperature has never occurred to me until this crisis. Glad to report it seems normal so far.

All the components to start brewing our own colloidal silver..just waiting for the clips, as it’s so blooming expensive to buy..we should get that started today
Three lovely summer dresses Spotted on a website for sale.
I’d done a massive declutter from New Year’s Day to March 1 so I’ve got all I need

One thing I didn’t stock up on , the store closed before I had to chance to get there, was primark foundation. Love it. If I do run out ( I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel) probably Lidl or aldi might have something

teenagetantrums · 24/04/2020 11:28

Some shoes and underwear for me. Laptop for my parents.
Thankfully we went aboard in march do had already bought any new summer clothes we needed.
Oh and some vitamins from Amazon as l couldn't get the ones l normally take in shops.

Juanmorebeer · 24/04/2020 11:29

Apart from LOADS on groceries from supermarket and COSTCO the only things we have bought are some ankle weights, a deck chair and some stuff you paint on to fix a leaking roof. That's it. Since mid March. Really unusual, we'd spend a lot on eating and drinking out usually.

Dowser · 24/04/2020 11:30

Wishing you well Barbara x

Dowser · 24/04/2020 11:30

What do you take teenage tantrums?

AnotherMurkyDay · 24/04/2020 11:30

Groceries, a couple of magazines, online TV subscriptions. Depending how long this goes on for, we will need food, birthday presents, books, learning materials, hair clippers

TwoZeroTwoZero · 24/04/2020 11:32

A book for dc1's novel study lessons
Paper
Fancy tea
Guandujia chocolates
Easter eggs
A photo album
A big quilted blanket
Vegan biltong type stuff (forgotten the proper word)
Batteries
A sink bowl because we broke the sink and they won't come out and mend it
Some uplighters for the garden
Some brighter solar lights for the garden
A mother's day card
A sticky joke label for a bottle of wine

IHaveAMagicBean · 24/04/2020 11:32

@cyberpsychology1 then why don’t you try starting your own thread instead of hijacking this one!
Reported.

Chasingsquirrels · 24/04/2020 11:32

Normal food, mainly every 10ish days from Tesco with the odd bread and milk top up from the Co-op, plus;
2 x 16kg sacks of flour (bread & plain) online;
1 x sack of potatoes via local Facebook page.

Set of dog agility jumps.
Car service, it was booked in for mid Apr before the lockdown and took it in as planned. I didn't get the MOT done as it's been extended by 6 months, but it did need a new battery, front brakes & bushes as well as a general service.
1kg of chocolate Jazzies (ds2, arrived today).
L-plates. Couldn't put 17yo on my insurance but my renewal came up and I found a better price including him - probably a post lockdown thing as when I searched a month ago my renewal quote was the best I could find, then 4 weeks later I quite a were coming in 25% less (before I added DS) but didn't have l-plates. He was 3 months into lessons pre lockdown so at least he can get some practice in.
I've ordered some plastic end caps for the clothes airer as it's got 1 missing and I need to order a hair catcher thing for the shower as the trap is broken.

Apart from the car service and insurance renewal which are normal annual expenses it has been a very cheap month, my credit card bill is alot less than normal.

HavenDilemma · 24/04/2020 11:32

@ifonly4 Sorry to go off topic but can I ask which brand of sandals they were please?! I'm in need of some comfortable ones due to issues with my feet! Thankyou x

CrochetBug · 24/04/2020 11:33

Yarn and a cross stitch kit, although I would most likely have ordered them at some point anyway.

A handful of card games because we were getting bored of our old ones
