So we have established that Mrs Browns Boys is definitely the worst UK sitcom of all time, but now it’s time to flip it around and see what people think of as the best UK sitcom of all time.

Same rules as before (and yes, for the purpose of this thread Ireland does count). Looking forward to seeing what people’s suggestions are

Gavin and Stacey even though it got a few mentions on the other thread. Showed the first episode to my danish friend and then we binged.

So much tricker, but I think I’d have to go for Cabin Pressure. Perfect cast, solid plotting, actual character development, endlessly quotable, and a proper finale. I’ve listened to every episode god knows how many times and it never gets old.
Runners up:
Father Ted, Black Adder, Black Books, The Thick of It, The Young Ones, Bleak Expectations.
