  1. Sorted out and fenced our front garden so we had somewhere outside to sit not in full view of the neighbours
  2. Had a bikini wax
  3. Had my acrylic nails removed
  4. Encouraged DP to get a haircut before it was too late. His hair grows ridiculously fast and he won’t let me touch it

Gone swimming
Had another drink or two in the pub - I didn't realise it would be the last visit for a long time.
Had a breakfast in a cafe

@Lenny1980 that’s a good idea

Can you recommend any? I just looked and there’s sooooooo many!

Whenwillthisbeover · 29/03/2020 10:06

A skip, gosh yes! I wonder if skips are being delivered and collected, no reason not to if no contact with anyone else?

Purplecatshopaholic · 29/03/2020 10:07

Various things that need doing around the house, and are starting to bug me now. New taps and bath panel in boxes with no one to fit them. And my snazzy new smart tv for my bedroom that is in a box on the floor for the duration. Ah, well.

megletthesecond · 29/03/2020 10:07

Bought a treadmill.
Finished emptying the ancient shed and put a summer house and bike storage in. The bikes are currently in my dining room.

edwinbear · 29/03/2020 10:07

Shagged DP, who is in a different household.

Straycatstrut · 29/03/2020 10:08

I actually can't think of anything.

I'm pretty proud of how I handled this. I went into survival panic mode as a single mum with no car and got £120 worth of food on the last day they were both in school, went in my parents car with them. Angry stares from folk in Aldi, but I sensed this coming. I cannot get to shops now. I have enough for another 2 weeks if I'm careful. I got tons of frozen veg which I don't buy usually. Lots of quorn and have lots of potatos in the fridge I can make chips and other stuff out of.

We're doing okay as long as we get out every day and do a fun activity every day.

I think after another week of this we're all going to be hugely struggling mentally though. I have various moments of deep breaths.

So greatful for my dog for company too. She's so happy and positive 24/7.

Pigsnduvets · 29/03/2020 10:08

Moved house 🤣

zafferana · 29/03/2020 10:08

A lot of the things that people wish they'd purchased can either be bought in supermarkets (Easter eggs) or ordered for delivery, including clippers for cutting men's hair, hairdressing scissors for trimming women's hair, hair dye, paint, top soil, plants, etc. There are YouTube videos for how to do all kinds of jobs around the house, so figure out what you need and see if you can order it and do it yourself.

I'm so glad that DH and I realised that we were about to go into lockdown a week before it happened. We went to the garden centre and stocked up and I moved my hairdresser visit to last Friday - just before the salons closed. My poor dad though, 77 and with underlying conditions, didn't manage to get to the barbers so he'll probably look like Tom Hanks in Castaway after three months!

Lovelydovey · 29/03/2020 10:09

We have it planned and booked for October this year, but it seems very unlikely to happen, as we won't get travel insurance to cover CV. We'll lose the large deposit too.

When you booked it did it include any holiday insurance? Some do.

Eckhart · 29/03/2020 10:11

Loads of hugging of the people I love and can only see via a screen currently.

munchbunch12 · 29/03/2020 10:11

golddustwomen · 29/03/2020 10:14

Spent the whole day drinking tea and chatting with my Nan.

ellanwood · 29/03/2020 10:16

Visited my parents. I could have gone in Feb but decided to go in late March instead as I was less busy at work. Now I don't know when I can see them. And they live in a popular tourist spot so trains will be packed once the ban is lifted.

Gone to the theatre. Four shows we really wanted to see but kept dithering on dates. Finally booked. All cancelled.

Gone to tip. Lots of stuff to get rid of will hang around the house a while.

Bought paint to redecorate.

But most of all, visiting my elderly parents.

KatherineJaneway · 29/03/2020 10:16

Bought some hair dye

Bluemascara4 · 29/03/2020 10:16
