What are you baking today?

Woke up at stupid o'clock and started a mental rummage through my cupboards and fridge. Have got up now leaving DP (who's 150 miles from elderly family and a bit down) in bed, and decided to make a lemon/orange drizzle cake. Haven't got a loaf tin but got something in remotely the right shape. Also only have duck eggs (as they were the last ones left when I last went shopping.) I will post a pic when it's ready....hope it's edible, don't fancy slinging out a load of perfectly good ingredients!
Anyone else baking today?

No problem getting eggs here, but flour is very hard to get hold of. I've still got some self-raising left, so I'm making banana and peanut butter loaf cake to use up some rather elderly bananas. It's in the oven now and smells amazing!

I'm making a cake using some duck eggs I'd forgotten about. Duck eggs seem to make huge cakes.

My cake is now officially
Easter Saturday II cake.

Each day is becoming a declared Easter Day in this household and cake is requested!

I did point out to my four teenagers that this is their second Easter Saturday cake.

For those unable to get flour, have you tried looking in the "International" aisle in the bigger supermarkets?
I've managed to pick up a couple of bags in the Polish section.
Also if you live anywhere near a working mill that's worth a try, the one that I know of definitely does mail order too.

Lidles had flour today at around late morning! They were just out of plain but had whole tray of self raising! Baking is back on, honestly I felt like I'd won the lottery!

I have a fruit and cinnamon loaf in the bread maker. Not done it this way before.

Just made this. I have no eggs so googled for an egg free chocolate cake. Turned out really well.
