Been geeking this morning on the number of flights having to go around

Noticed several Gatwick and Luton flights diverting to Stanstead

Check out DI7018 JFK- Gatwick

Two attempts at Gatwick, seemed to be heading for Stanstead, but now the Norwegian airlines crew seem to be taking everyone home with them!

What’s happening with 2276. It went white and then yellow so is that an aborted landing?

I’m in Tunbridge Wells and it’s super gusty here. Just watching BA2202....

bookworm14 · 09/02/2020 09:32

2276 has landed

@edgewater it’s down and taxiing - must’ve been a blip it got stuck at about 1200ft on my app

MrsFezziwig · 09/02/2020 09:33

TOM127 has landed at Manchester.

BabbleBee · 09/02/2020 09:34

Anyone else seen this strange pattern?

bookworm14 · 09/02/2020 09:37

BA2202 got down to 800ft and pulled up. Bloody hell.

sallywinter · 09/02/2020 09:37

2202’s a go around....

sallywinter · 09/02/2020 09:38

@bookworm14 I thought that too, so close!

onedayallthiswillbeyours · 09/02/2020 09:40

Also glued to FR this morning. So many second attempts at Gatwick. Currently fingers crossed for the plucky little Aer Lingus flight from Dublin on its second descent.

TidaQuel · 09/02/2020 09:40

Anyone know what TOM985 is up to? Looks like it’s a positioning flight from man to LTN possibly?

OhMsBeliever · 09/02/2020 09:41

I live very near Gatwick so keep checking flight radar every time I hear a plane go over my house as they haven't been able to land. There's been a lot today.

TheOneWithAnotherName · 09/02/2020 09:41

Just joining in! BA771 into LHR got down to 500 ft then pulled up. I'm a really bad flier so I'm grateful I'm not up there today

CornforthWhite · 09/02/2020 09:43

I am a flight radar novice and haven’t even been on the website. But I love the mumsnet threads about it. You guys always seem so happy it makes me smile knowing you are keeping an eye on things Smile

CallmeAngelina · 09/02/2020 09:43

I've been watching the Luton area as dd was meant to be landing there later on from Amsterdam. We bailed last night and she switched to the train. Those WizzAir flights earlier on were listed as having landed, but were still circling like mad on the app. Seems they've now gone to Stansted.

PineappleDanish · 09/02/2020 09:45

I got up this morning to see a virgin jumbo flying over my house on its way to Glasgow. Weird. Usually Virgin only operate a jumbo on the Orlando route in the summer.

Straight on flightradar... it was the Barbados flight which should have landed in Manchester. Bit of a long day for those passengers with an unscheduled coach trip down the M6.

Dowser · 09/02/2020 09:47

Be sure to avoid getting on a plane with me if you are a nervous flyer.
I take six flights a year, same route, newcastle to Tenerife and back.
In the last four flights of last year, two were horrendous. Terrible turbulence like I’ve ever known . The pilot gave us a little pep talk on turbulence before it hit us. Over an hour of hell eventhough he dropped height to avoid the worst of it. I’m such a coward absolutely gripped by fear I cried.
Last flight coming back in December we were told it was going to be very bumpy...it was. The whole flight. I didn’t even mind the bumpy landing I was just so relieved to be back down
Not last March but March before we Left in a blizzard and got hit by lightning just after take off.
Terrifying. Then we had to land at Gatwick and change planes so they could check ours over.
Thankfully Gatwick was cold but no snow when we landed
Then we had to wait for another plane and crew before we were on our way.

We get to do it all again ...next month.

chomalungma · 09/02/2020 09:47

GNJ74 did a very sharp right turn on approach to Gatwick

edgewater · 09/02/2020 09:51

BA224 didn’t land at Heathrow.

Theroigne · 09/02/2020 09:52

Has the Oslo - Manchester flight been mentioned yet? It seems to be on its way back home...

Theroigne · 09/02/2020 09:54

And Edinburgh - Birmingham seems to have changed its mind too...

Newcatmum · 09/02/2020 09:56

Glad I saw this thread that's my Sunday sorted. Can anyone explain why Glasgow isn't show any flights at all?

chomalungma · 09/02/2020 09:57

SAS161E coming to Manchester now after a very wriggly flight.

sallywinter · 09/02/2020 09:59

Nothing seems to be attempting Gatwick since the Air Oslo went around....

BabbleBee · 09/02/2020 10:00

What is GNJ74 doing?!
