Been geeking this morning on the number of flights having to go around

Noticed several Gatwick and Luton flights diverting to Stanstead

Check out DI7018 JFK- Gatwick

Two attempts at Gatwick, seemed to be heading for Stanstead, but now the Norwegian airlines crew seem to be taking everyone home with them!

Alicante to Leeds now delayed further - now another 43 min til landing!

I'm glad they made it toDoncaster..I digress but I'm never going to be able to think of it as Doncaster Airport, or Doncaster/Sheffield, or even Robin Hood Airport..to me it will always be Finningley..

Grab Canaria to LGW looks like it just pulled up

@NumberMonkey just coming to post that it looks like it's made an attempt and is going to try again.

Still baffled about why that flight ended up in Doncaster rather than Birmingham, a flight from Munich seemed to land with no issues around the same time.

Which airline(s) are we talking about? If it's different airlines then there's the issue of airline logistics ( previously mentioned)..There can also be a problem with an airport running out of capacity to handle further diversions.

Looks like the Gran Canaria to Gatwick didn't make it again. Damn I need to go to bed!

NoGravy Birmingham has had wind gusts in the 40s and 50s for the last few hours - might that be the reason?
Doncaster is a TUI base.

This is the first time I've looked at this before and it's very addictive isn't it?!? Currently watching where the Tenerife to Gatwick one is off to, really should be going to bed though!!

Norwegian fly to Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle so guess Manchester is current safest bet.

Looks like Gran Canaria May be attempting Birmingham

Gatwick were reporting gusts of up to 30 knots across the runway and rain a short while ago which might explain some of the goings on.
