I'm thinking about things that might improve my life

I'm wondering about small purchases that might improve my life. So far I'm thinking:
A couple more phone chargers - one to keep downstairs and one for work

A small, non-pod coffee machine for the bedroom. Any recs?

A plain black cashmere scarf, so I don't need to have to match to cost and/or outfit!

What small things improve your life and might improve mine too?!

I created a WhatsApp group called 'store cards' and photographed all my store cards

Or you could just use the app that does exactly that - stocard.

I have charging cables from Ikea - they are cheaper and just as good :)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/02/2020 17:41

Thanks all re cables.

Loving the idea of different levels of cosy through one's robe collection, Frances!

In the spirit of this thread, I've just treated myself to the Juliette Has a Gun Discovery Collection of samples - so now I have lots of lovely little scents to take away on trips. :)

I've started occasionally taking a day of leave just for myself. No husband, no kids, no guilt!

A free hand/arm massage from Jo Malone is a good start to such a day m.jomalone.co.uk/a-gift-for-you

And on the topic of luxury miniatures - if you have a John Lewis near you, get their card/app. You get random beauty samples. So far I've had a Jo Malone perfume, a Dior perfume and a Clinique moisturizer. Mini ones obviously, but perfect for a handbag (and frankly the brands are too spendy for me personally so a nice touch of luxury!)

I have a gel nail kit with led lamp. I can do my own nails in 20 minutes and feel done up. It's the best thing ever!

Itwasntme1 · 11/02/2020 22:17

Packing cubes for suitcases. So handy

Dozens of Apple charging cables, one permanent in car, one upstairs, one downstairs and one in work. Spares everywhere.

Coffee bags instead of lose ground coffee, so much tidier

Probably too practical to be a luxury but replacing all my metal baking trays with Pyrex glass ones has been a revelation. Begone manky trays that never look clean! The Pyrex ones get uber hot so they cook well, then wipe clean and look brand new. I love them.

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie i bought leakproof travel mug from paperchase. So far has proven true, coffee stays hot as well

animaginativeusername · 12/02/2020 00:13

Bought an air fryer for £39 from Iceland, it's a godsend. I'm eating proper meals, without the oil and frying. Would definitely recommend

SweetPeaPods · 12/02/2020 07:41

great post op.
Loving our kleen kanteen travel cup, we have 1 but this has inspired me to buy a couple more in different sizes.

SweetPeaPods · 12/02/2020 07:42

Also hotel chocolat Velvitiser - so glad we bought it, used so much more than I thought we would.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 12/02/2020 08:57

Stainless steel insulated cafetiere. It keeps coffee hot for ages, and we take it with us on holiday. Farewell, disgusting Nescafé sachets!
Dressing gowns with hoods.
Ear buds: Anker Soundcore are very good, although they seem to have problems with the latest iPhone.

TheClitterati · 12/02/2020 14:33

Stainless steel insulated cafetiere. I was given one of these about 20 years ago & I use it every single day. It's pretty much indestructable and yes I've taken it on many a holiday Grin

The sample set at Atelier Cologne is delightful, and 4160 Tuesdays do gorgeous samples too!

I love the idea of a sofa with build in charger

clippityclop · 12/02/2020 22:44

I'm right wth you about the neutral cashmere cashmere scarf idea . I bought a camel one from www.audreykate.co.uk.
Phone charger in the car.
Loo roll and cat food on subscription.
Stack of pound coins ready for clubs etc.
Hang clothes up in outfits for the week.
Hardboil eggs for lunch while cooking pasta or potatoes.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/02/2020 22:58

I've got the John Lewis app but all it's ever given me is coffee and cake.

Love this thread.

A sellotape dispenser.
An extra make up bag to keep in the car.
New thin beach towels.

Fizzypoo · 13/02/2020 18:59

I've bought a chilly water bottle because of this thread. I love it.

I also bought one of those wooden boards to go across the bath that holds a book and a mug/wine glass. I'm really looking forward to having a long hot bath with salts and oils with a book and somewhere to put my phone Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/02/2020 21:20

I bought a second Chillys bottle within about a fortnight of buying the first, because I was so impressed.

Just saying...

Thank you to the PP who mentioned Aldi Oud & Bergamot candles - I bought one, and then another for when first one is finished, sooo nice. £3.99 and it's way better than the White Company candle I bought for £2- at Xmas. Even DH, who is generally anti-candle, likes it.

everythingisginandroses · 15/02/2020 19:06

White Company candle was £20, not £2, sadly Blush
