OP posts:
Shoobydoo123 · 03/01/2020 23:13

Brian McFadden - very funny, cheeky Irish but very much a ladies’ man.

CoffeeRunner · 03/01/2020 23:14

Now.... don’t all get jealous! I’ve met;

John Fashanu - when I worked for the firm of solicitors defending him against NOTW “allegations”.

Paul Merson - lovely guy.

Andy Gray - fucking wanker.

Helen Baxendale - went to school with her.

Dick & Dom - at Gloucester Services. Insisted on paying for their driver’s food & drink. Very sweet.

Cat Deeley - in a healthcare setting.

Not sure who else really. I don’t get particularly star struck 🤷🏻‍♀️.

RifRafia · 03/01/2020 23:15

A bit of an odd mix, not all at the same time!

The Queen
Prince Charles + Camilla
David Cameron
Mary Berry
David Williams
Various Page 3 girls (long story!)
Snogged Finn from Hollyoaks back in uni days
Tom Kerridge

Herbalteahippie · 03/01/2020 23:16

HM The Queen and HRH Prince Philip. I was in a line of hundreds of services women on the steps of the imperial war museum royal opens of the women at war exhibition; everyone else was stood to attention but I was grinning and giggling (illegal move)whilst everyone else was all serious... as liz n Phil walked up the steps they stopped to talk to me... no one else... Prince Philip looked at me in typical sailor cheeky flirty way and said ‘you look very smart’ and smiled. WHATTA GUY. Swoon! I’m not even joking! Then HM the Queen asked me if I was enjoying it on my current ship. I curtsy I reply ‘yes, your majesty!’ With a big smile. I think they were refreshed by my disregard for military solemness and they were really, really, nice. I felt honoured.

RifRafia · 03/01/2020 23:16

Oh, forgot, also Jim Davidson, Katie Piper and Katherine Jenkins. Davidson was an absolute arse...

lovelyupnorth · 03/01/2020 23:18

Corey Feldman

Edward Woodward - didn’t recognise him till he’d left.

Michelle Collins - rude and rough.

A few others through work and my Brothers work he worked to do with Hollywood for a bit sorting funding for films.

RoseyOldCrow · 03/01/2020 23:19

Dame Floella Benjamin in an airport lift, very elegant & smiley, with a handsome young PA chap.

Eric Morecambe, in about 1980.

A bunch of Comedy Club players in a Soho bar c2000, utterly charming.

Loads of others who you think "... isn't that X?" and then they've gone before it clicks - Fish from Marillion, John Cooper Clark, Michael Fabricant.
John Cooper Clark, others who l can't even remember now Confused

DurannieDeckingTheHalls · 03/01/2020 23:19

@golddustwomen also v jealous of Duran Duran...obviously

TildaTurnip · 03/01/2020 23:21

John Fashanu - when I worked for the firm of solicitors defending him against NOTW “allegations”

Me too (as work experience though!)

MadisonAvenue · 03/01/2020 23:21

Billie Joe Armstrong - very down to earth and friendly, and short.

Duran Duran - all really lovely. Simon Le Bon, Roger Taylor and John Taylor in particular were very chatty and a lot of fun. I met John again a few years ago and he was still just as wonderful.

Bez - really nice guy.

Patrice Evra - warm, funny and friendly.

Frank Turner - very nice. He did a book talk/performance nearby at a venue which sold out around 400 tickets and at the end, after packing away all of his gear, he called out that if anyone wanted a photo or anything signing then he'd be happy to do so...and at 11pm a queue of around 400 people formed.

Dan Gillespie Sells - really lovely

Scissor Sisters - hung out with them after a show, mostly Ana and Jake, and they were bloody lovely.

chocolatetrap · 03/01/2020 23:28

Philip Glenister a buying posh ham and very polite
Thom Yorke - lovely
Boris Johnson - dishevelled and chaotic but you can see how he turns on the charm
Ken Livingstone - nice
Grace Jones - exactly as you'd expect - mad and fun
Ed Sheeran - actually adorable
James Blunt - funny
Mark Rylance - an absolute doll

Met a few models

Erin O'Connor - nice but outrageously regal looking - the height and aristocracic face is intimidating
Lily Cole - really really odd looking IRL but you can tell why she photographes well for that very reason
Rosie Huntington Whitely - extremely willowy and perfectly pretty

Inanothertime · 03/01/2020 23:36

Micky Dolenz from the Monkees. 👍🏻

Fuzzybumblebee · 03/01/2020 23:58

Please whomever met Terry Pratchett , tell me his lovely

Miljea · 04/01/2020 00:03

Not me, but in early 1981, my dad was flying back from Sydney to London for work. He and his colleague got bumped up into First Class. Nice.

As all MNetters will know, 😂 in First, you have nice big gaps between seats. Dad sat 'beside' a pleasant young woman, who'd just been to visit her sister in Australia. They chatted, politely, on and off.

At Heathrow, those in First were asked to stay seated, and some men in black came on and escorted this young woman off the plane, before the others. Dad wasn't phased, he understands how First Class works. But was pleased to have enjoyed the experience.

Following day, at home, Charles and Di announced their engagement. Dad said 'That was the woman I chatted to on the plane, yesterday!'.

Only my dad could have missed the months of hype leading up to it.... 🙄😂

QueenofPain · 04/01/2020 00:46

Jonah Hill

QueenofPain · 04/01/2020 00:48

Oh yeah, I’ve met Frank Turner too. Wouldn’t class him as like celebrity status though. Just very popular in certain music circles.

QueenofPain · 04/01/2020 00:51

I see a PP want context. I met Jonah Hill backstage at Download in about 2007 or 2008 or around then. He was strolling along with Brandon Boyd of Incubus.

To me, these pair both incredibly famous, WOW celebrities and I was star struck. They stopped to talk when we approached them, both perfectly nice. Although Brandon more chatty than Jonah.

Cherrysoup · 04/01/2020 00:52

Nasty Nick from Eastenders: he told me my name was lovely.

Beppe from Eastenders, complained we’d put cracks in his ceiling after a house party above his flat. 😂

Tony Slattery, lovely, he was very young at the time.
