I haven't ever met any famous people.

OP posts:
Kotokoto · 06/01/2020 15:05

I'll start with the lovely ones...

Dermot O'Leary in M&S - v friendly and happy to chat away to the checkout ladies

Ed Milliband visited my workplace. He was much taller and very surprisingly far more handsome and dashing than he appears on TV. Very kind and listened to people longer than he needed to.

Michael Palin on Hampstead Heath - seemed very nice

Bill Nighy - sightseeing in Paris, seemed nice and chilled

Reece Shearsmith at a party - absolutely lovely and a sweetheart

Tobias Menzies (Prince Phillip in The Crown) - worked with him- absolutely lovely and v modest

Hugh Grant in a pub in Soho, he was really normal and polite to onlookers and just trying to have a quiet drink with his mate. He drove off on a moped.

Clare Skinner - the mum from Outnumbered- lived near me and I used to see her dog walking. Very nice and normal.

Sean Bean - at an event - really nice and down to earth even though loads of people were swarming round him!

Emily Thornberry - in the theatre with her kids. Seemed like a normal mum.

Juliet Stevenson in a theatre loo- quiet and avoiding eye contact

Josh Widdecombe - in Hackney- seemed normal enough

Melanie Sykes - sunbathing in Ibiza - seemed ok, had very 'cool' friends

Chiwetel Ejiofor - backstage at something - seemed a bit too aware of his own celebrity but ok

Caroline Flack- rehearsed for Strictly in my gym! She was a bit impatient with people talking to her but tried to come across as friendly-ish. Iyswim.

Scott Mills- same gym- he was a bit of a diva!

Rufus Hound - a bit of a knob

Elton John (and his DH) at a press night - he was so stuck up, kept his face stony and wore shades indoors

Zawe Ashton - I worked at an event she was at- full of herself / arrogant

Stephen Daldry, Billy Elliot director, worked with him- incredibly self important and fake

Dairmund Gavin I think his name was - the tv gardener? In a pub in Notting Hill. Drunk, leery and pervy.

Dwight York- pinched my bum when I was an 18 yo waitress

Bill Kenright & Jenny Seagrove - served them as a waitress - both very rude and entitled and full of themselves

Tom Allen the "comedian" / presenter of Bake Off / You're Fired. Worked in an office where he was working once- he was a complete twat- arrogant and bitchy.

Janet Ellis - ex Blue Peter presenter and mother of Sophie Ellis Bexter. Worked on something with her. She was a typical catty / bitchy type.

Pinkywoo · 06/01/2020 15:14

All met while I was behind the bar in various pubs and music venues;

Al Murray - enormous and friendly, was in pub landlord character and kept trying to get behind the bar!
Harry Hill - very shy and polite, was wearing a wig so he wasn't recognised
Tim Henman - rude and arrogant
Tessa Sanderson - absolute sweetheart
Jerry Hall - lovely and stunning even without a scrap of make-up
Ronnie Wood - seemed nice but didn't talk to him because of his massive security guards
Wayne Sleep - lovely and very tiny, I'm 5'2 and felt like a giant
Boris Becker - bit of a knob
Ralph McTell - such a lovely man, met him several times and he was always so nice

SuckingDieselFella · 06/01/2020 17:13

Liam Neeson, in real life, not at an event.

Lovely man.

Muddyinthesticks · 06/01/2020 17:50

chocolateisavegetable · 06/01/2020 19:21

Richard Branson - he was delightful.
Simon Le Bon - extremely nice considering that I was an obsessive teen fan at the time!

DH met Sir David Attenborough (lucky bastard) - who was, as you would imagine, incredibly fabulous

Cameron2012 · 06/01/2020 19:35

David Cameron, very tall with a complexion like processed ham.
Jimmy Osmond, a real gent.
Nick Knowles, a blocky bloke
The cast of Allo Allo, very quiet

ImNotACuntYoureACunt · 06/01/2020 20:03

Camilla- shorter than I expected, rather quiet voice but very smiley and has kind eyes
Philip schofield- about 20 years ago when I was about 12 and he was friendly but I wouldn’t surprise me that much if he wasn’t anymore
All saints- one of them (Mel?) was lovely and friendly but the others were sullen as fuck and I don’t know why they bothered showing up to the event
Robbie Fowler- in Costa near where I used to live. I never spoke to him (seemed off to bother him going about his day) but he did open the door for me when I was struggling with it and my son’s disability buggy. So actually I did say something I said “ahh thanks!” Ex was fuming I didn’t then ask for an autograph Hmm shame that.

LovelyTinsellyBaublesReg · 06/01/2020 20:53

I did shots with Su Pollard. She is mad. Exactly as you’d expect her to be.

StKnickerloss · 06/01/2020 21:24

@LovelyTinsellyBaublesReg

You’re so right!
I was in a bbc canteen and su pollard ran in, jumped on a table and said “quick! Su pollard is downstairs signing things!”
She then jumped down and ran out.

MyNameHasBeenTaken · 06/01/2020 21:42

I thought my answer was going to be nobody.
But then Derek akorah (RIP) was in the news recently. I met him at one of his gigs.
I have also met magnum, blaise bailey, roy castle
And probably a few more

MyNameHasBeenTaken · 06/01/2020 21:44

Michael owen sat on the table next to us at pizza hut. We had gone for a friends birthday

Gingerninja01 · 06/01/2020 21:49

Wolf from Gladiators as a child - he was nice

GidgetGirl · 06/01/2020 21:54

@RunningAwaywiththeCircus Yep, totally.. DP was aware at the time that he was a bit of a weirdo, but it didn’t cross his mind that he was actually engaging in anything illegal.

clippityclop · 06/01/2020 22:11

Ruth Maddox who absolutely lovely.
Cliff Richard who was friendly, charming and funny.
John Inman seemed very unhappy, no eye contact with anyone.
Martin Clunes simply gorgeous.

Glitterfisher · 06/01/2020 22:38

David Ginola - charming, gorgeous. Just perfect.

Christian Slater - totally lovely, happy to talk to all fans, seems down to earth for an A lister but reckon the true A listers are

Rob Lowe - as per Christian Slater but probably the prettiest human I have ever seen in RL

John Barrowman - friendly, was about 15 years ago I think, he spoke in a Scottish accent and wasnt camp and outrageous like he is now. Although I love him now also.

Robbie Williams - arrogant and dismissive

Sean Bean - friendly, sexy in a rugged way

Suranne Jones - stunning, super tall, lovely

Mackenzie Crook - exactly how you would imagine

David Beckham - over 20 years ago, good looking, very friendly and had lots of time for everyone

Kiefer Sutherland- the friendliest celeb you could wish to meet. Sext voice, just gorgeous. Made my knees wobble.

Lots of footballers, mostly nice people, a few total wankers who think they are all that. Majority can't be trusted though in a relationship but nice guys in a platonic way.

Helen Baxindale - very pretty, really friendly. I wasnt expecting her to be.

Matt Smith - friendly, sweet.

Mike Nolan (Bucks Fizz) - absolutely great guy

Kim Hartman (Allo Allo) - lovely

Will Young - rude but I like to think it was an off day, esp as I know he suffers from anxiety

Chris Evans- arrogant

One of the Glennisters - nice bloke

Lots of Strictly dancers, Anton is fabulous, Neil and Katya lovely, Amy is ace, Alijaz and Janette cutest couple ever.

There are loads others, I think I am a stalker actually.

Would love to meet Colin Firth and Ed Sheeran, would have loved to have met Freddie Mercury.

x2boys · 06/01/2020 23:14
