I really need to get far more exercise this year.

Me too! I have sorted my job and my mental health in 2019 and 2020 will be the year when I get rid of the chub. We can do it!!

FrenchFancie · 26/12/2019 10:25

Well I need to get a few things keyed this year:
Weight (3 stone)
Mental health
Prep for return to work summer 2021

MonnaLIza · 26/12/2019 10:41

@FrenchFancie all good wishes for your quest Smile

Me too!

9-10 kgs is my target, by August ideally. Exercise also helps tremendously with mental health so I'm in for that too (bit of anxiety, nothing massive, but a bit worrying)

What are your plans? Going back to gym in Jan, my goal is 3x/week.

muddledmidget · 26/12/2019 10:53

2020 is definitely my year. I'm going to lose 2st and reach 9st7 after 10 years of putting it on my to do list! Also going to go to the gym 3 times a week and finish couch to 10km (also after about 10 attempts). Can't wait for next Christmas to have achieved my goals

tectonicplates · 26/12/2019 10:56

Three exercise sessions per week at least, of which one is yoga. At least one of the others needs to be something higher impact. I've bought a new sports bra!

But I think I'm going to try and do some Jillian Michaels videos, at least for January as gyms can get so crowded at this time of year. I already have lots of her videos, but happy to hear any recommendations for others - I think Davina is quite popular around here?

My plan is to eat less!! I do quite a bit of physical activity as I walk to work and it's about 10 miles per day. Maybe add some cardio at the weekend. But really it's the (over) eating that gave me the chub.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 26/12/2019 10:59

Me please!! Dh too. Eat less and exercise more. Strength and cardio training. 2020 will be a big year hopefully with a new job. Going to start doing 30 day shreds too.

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 26/12/2019 11:01

I’m place marking because I’m about to spend the next 5 days visiting various friends and family and eating and drinking too much Blush

I’ve got a big birthday coming up in the summer and it’s spurring me on to make some serious changes. I need to lose at least 5 stone, if not 6.

tectonicplates · 26/12/2019 11:06

Ah yes, I need to buy a new notebook so I can write down everything I eat. Otherwise I tend to forget Hmm I ate that chocolate earlier.

Actually I have a question. Does anyone still use a basic pedometer that you clip on to your clothes? I don't really want to be spending the money on a Fitbit and anyway I hate wearing things on my wrist. As long as I can find a silent pedometer that'll be okay. I know there are apps for that but they seem to use up a lot of phone battery.

Count me in too please. I need to lose 4 stones and in order to do this I not only need to make better food choices but reduce portion sizes too.
I don't really have the time or money for a gym membership and due to health reasons can't run so I'm hoping to up my steps and walk more.
Good luck to us all and here's to slimmer and healthier us by this time next year! Grin

RunningKatie · 26/12/2019 11:52

Yes, I too have a surplus 3 stone and I am fed up of my clothes not fitting.
Once I am shot of this cold then I am on it.
I got a fitbit for Christmas so hoping this will help motivate my backside out of the door

Megsmcgoo · 26/12/2019 11:57

I’m in too please! 3 stone to lose - urgh

Stinkyeddie · 26/12/2019 12:00

Signing in...

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 26/12/2019 12:03

I'm in Smile
I started intermittent fasting a month or so ago and have had some really positive results but have stopped over Christmas so I can enjoy myself a bit! I've started back with it today so will be carrying that on.
I'd like ideally to lose 4 stone which is a big goal for me but I go back to work partway through the year and would like to be slim enough to fit into my old uniform!

tectonicplates · 26/12/2019 12:06

Also does anyone know how long gyms stay hideously crowded for? Maybe 4-6 weeks? I really think exercising at home would keep me motivated for January but I'd like to get out of the house too.

PlaymobilPirate · 26/12/2019 12:10

I'm in. Getting married in July and would love to shift 3 stone!

GirlsonFilm · 26/12/2019 12:15

Me too, I've got a big birthday in 2020 and want to be at target weight by then. Target is 20kg off.

I'm kicking it off with the blood sugar diet from which I saw some great results, just need to keep at it.

HarryRug · 26/12/2019 12:17

I’m in.

WhenDoISleep · 26/12/2019 12:22

I’m in - need to lose the 2st I put on this year due to stress plus at least another 2 stone. Need to eat better (less junk) and exercise more. Will go back to tracking everything I eat on MFP in January.

Somesortofzilla · 26/12/2019 12:26

Sounds like a plan, count me in! I won't be able to get to a gym, I'll have to do this either 1st thing in the morning before the kids wake, or last thing at night when the kids are asleep.
I'm terrible TERRIBLE with the food part, which, unfortunately is also the important bit Xmas Blush
Anyone have tips they'd like to share?!

CinnamonSweet73 · 26/12/2019 12:29

I'm in, I need to lose a stone, too much stress eating this year. It's mainly the food I need to sort but going to get off my phone and go for a walk now!

StuntNun · 26/12/2019 12:29
