Let's do it!

I really need to get far more exercise this year.

Iggleonkupsy · 26/12/2019 22:30

I'm in too! Will probably start on the 2nd January.
I'm going away on a 2 week trip in April where I will need to wear summer clothes and a bikini... so basically 3 months to lose as much as possible. I'm not sure what is realistic but I think I need to lose about 2.5 stone altogether. Hoping for about half of that by the trip.
Going to try to do the couch to 5k plus a once a week swim.

Another goal is to read 12 books next year.

Sickofpineneedles · 26/12/2019 22:40

I was just about to start a thread just weighed myself (no scales at home) I'm 13 stone 😭 thought I was doing Okay and gradually losing weight.
I was I a really good place 4/5 years ago before I got pregnant with DS3. I just can't shift the weight although in fairness I haven't really tried hard enough. Been studying a master's for last 2 years and had the pressure of taking over the family business so no wonder I haven't had the head space.
Need to get fit and healthy this year.

SecretIdentitee · 26/12/2019 22:40

Me too! Am a size 20 and want to be size 16 for our big family holiday to Florida. Have 5 months.
Currently have bad chest infection but once I can breathe easy again I'll get my walking boots on and NO junk food.

I don't really trust the home scales but they just said 12st 6. I'm 5 foot 5/6 so this puts me overweight. I am going to weigh myself in a boots proper scales next week on Monday and try to weight once a week/ fortnight. It will be 13 weeks until my trip then. So if I can do at least a pound a week in that time then I'll be happy. But will aim for more. I am more determined than ever.

I’m in! Haven’t lost any of my baby weight and he’s now 3! I’m also having loads of problems with hyper-mobility in my joints which is through lack of exercise. Hoping to lose 1.5 stone by July and planning to start on the 1st Jan.

puds11 · 26/12/2019 22:59

I’m in. 1ish stone left to loose. Went for a jog on Xmas day and today!

teablanket · 26/12/2019 23:00

I'm in! I'm down to 198lbs (from 300+ a couple of years ago 😳) but I sort of fell off the wagon a few months ago. Not regaining anything, just slacking off and maintaining. Not paying attention to food, I've not been running since mid-October, just half-arsing everything.

I need to keep reminding myself that I didn't come this far to only come this far.

Iggleonkupsy · 26/12/2019 23:01

Wow well done puds I am visiting family all over the christmas and new year period (with a 1 night flying visit at home in between!) And I didn't pack any running clothes. I do have trainers so I suppose I could do something!

wizzler · 26/12/2019 23:16

I'm in. Need to lose 2.5 stone. Will get weighed tomorrow so I have a baseline.

hiphiphoorayback · 26/12/2019 23:20

Yep need to loose 7lbs at least.

puds11 · 27/12/2019 02:19

Thank you @Iggleonkupsy I’m aiming for a run a day to keep myself in check over Xmas!

omtotheg · 27/12/2019 02:34

I'm in 4 stone to lose!
I just want it gone after years and years of talking about it and promising myself

justcly · 27/12/2019 04:08

@tectonicplates

I use a Nuband Flash HR Activity Tracker. They're about £30 - £40 depending where you buy them. I find mine has everything I need. I have MS so monitoring my physical activity is important.

HerRoyalFattyness · 27/12/2019 04:20

So many of us!

I'm wide awake at this stupid time because my meds.dont seem to be working so I haven't been to sleep yet. Hmm

This is one of my problems. Lack of sleep, low energy, craving junk, eat sugar filled crap for boost, wears off, eat more sugar filled crap and so on and so on.

Redrosesandsunsets · 27/12/2019 04:31

Me too. I just watched a great film about getting your life together and being healthy again called Brittany Runs a Marathon. I recommend it if anyone needs encouragement. Very well done. I’m on bias. Eating healthy again and learning to run again couch to 5k again. Wishing you all luck.

HerRoyalFattyness · 27/12/2019 04:33

redroses what did you watch it on? I could do with something to motivate me.

Redrosesandsunsets · 27/12/2019 04:35

That’s meant to say “I’m going to be eating healthy again and learning to run” etc ..
HerRoyalFattyness I watched it on Prime Video. It did just the trick for me. I hope you find it.

ListenLinda · 27/12/2019 04:36

I’m in too. My weight is creeping and i caught sight of myself on xmas day in my new outfit and wanted to cry. DS isn’t a newborn anymore so that’s no excuse. I’m back at work where there is always biscuits and chocolates around. I need to lose 4 stone. Portion size is my issue and I really need to move more!

ListenLinda · 27/12/2019 04:37

Ooops pressed too soon! *so hopefully this thread keeps me motivated!

HearMeRoarr · 27/12/2019 04:45

I'm in!

3 stone to lose starting today

Planning 1 hours walking/day

Couch to 5k

Alcohol in moderation, 2 units/night and 2 alcohol free days a week

Sitting down for ALL meals and snacks (this is the big one for me)

Not eating after evening meal

Let's do this!!!!

HearMeRoarr · 27/12/2019 04:46

Oh and mainly plant based

nodtik · 27/12/2019 04:48

I'm in too, as I am at least a stone over what I was about a year ago.

Too much wine and snacks over the year have taken their toll especially when combined with virtually no exercise.

Signed up for a 12 week programme with personal trainer starting on 2nd Jan so committed to get back down to around 10 stone.

We've got this ladies! Xx

puds11 · 27/12/2019 05:02

@Redrosesandsunsets I watched that too. Really enjoyed it and it’s definitely spurred me on.

tectonicplates · 27/12/2019 09:23

I'm off to an exercise class this morning. Thanks everyone for joining this thread and let's keep on motivating each other.
