Let's do it!

I really need to get far more exercise this year.

OP posts:

I’d like to be part of this as I have a good 2 stone to lose, maybe more. But 2 stone would be fantastic. I’m thinking of doing couch to 5k, just waiting for my new trainers to arrive. And will get back into exercising at home, as I’ve been really lazy with it being Christmas and then on top of that, having flu and then a bad cold, one after the other. Just feeling better now and might be able to get motivated I hope.

GoBackToPartyCity · 04/01/2020 22:27

Right, I’m on it! I’ve been scanning everything into MyFitnessPal and doing well so far. I’ve also signed up for Gousto and had my first delivery this week. The meals have all their calories printed on the recipe and it’s opened my eyes to how big our portion sizes were.

Current weight: 10st 3
Goal weight: 9st by family holiday in July.

Weigh day: Wednesday...finger’s crossed!

twinkledag · 04/01/2020 22:35

Not a good day again - I need the routine of work I think 😫

WEEK 1 WEIGH-IN
Start weight 170lbs
Goal weight 126lbs
Today's weight 161lbs
Loss 9lb

Intermittent fasting, 18:6 on WFPBD The first week always feels easy, now for the hard work and commitement. I am hoping accountability here makes the difference this time.

ohohohmerrychristmas · 05/01/2020 20:19

Joining you for the weigh in Flowers

I’m 315lbs this morning, I’m not sure how heavy was my worst but this is up there for sure .

I’ve been advised to slowly build up so this week I’ve hit 14500 steps (compared to a typical day six months ago, where I’d only do 500 ...) .

Today I’ve had a bowl of crunchy nut clusters with semi skimmed milk; vegan chickpea and tomato curry with one naan bread and two cookies with a scoop of ice cream for dessert . I need to up my fruit and veg levels, protein and fluid intake . Biggest and hardest thing for me is cutting out mayo ! RHP are saying I should eat 2700 cals a day but I don’t think I should to be honest .

Have bought WW scales this morning which suggests I’m very dehydrated, my bone mass is too high and BMI is 46.5 . So a few things to work on !

StripyTShirt · 05/01/2020 22:21

I lost 2lb this week, not bad considering I had a full New Year's Day dinner and several puddings Grin

Will continue to log everything and start exercising this week!!!

Newyearnewarse · 06/01/2020 07:08

Weigh in day today and I am 5 pounds down. Very happy with that!
First week is always good however so now I just need to keep on keeping on.
Does anyone have any good soup recipes ? I want to make some to take to work for lunches .
TIA

Rowgtfc72 · 06/01/2020 18:13

10 mins on the rower today. Near killed me. But I did it!

wizzler · 06/01/2020 21:08

Well done all you losers! Today I installed my Fitbit .. have eaten sensibly and feel I am on the right track. Am hoping for a 2lb loss this week

Newyearnewarse · 07/01/2020 12:01

Hows everyone getting on ?
All gone a bit quiet in here.

managedmis · 07/01/2020 12:12

Need to lose a few pounds but more importantly start exercising again! Preferably spinning 🙄 🚲

managedmis · 07/01/2020 12:15

Does anyone have any good soup recipes ? I want to make some to take to work for lunches .

^

Soup is easy! I make it loads.

Equal quantities of:

Onion
Carrot
Cauliflower
Cabbage
Potato (sweet is also lovely)

Fry in a tablespoon of butter and a tablespoon of oil for ten mins. Add chicken stock to just cover, along with a handful of red lentils and maybe some chickpeas. Add garlic, herbs, maybe some curry paste. Simmer till soft. Blend till smooth.

I eat this all the time and it's really filling.

StripyTShirt · 07/01/2020 19:32

I'm just waiting for DS to go to sleep then I'll do 30 mins walking on the treadmill before dinner Wink

coffeeagogo · 08/01/2020 12:34

Checking in - managed to lose -4lbs away skiing for NY and started WW on Monday this week Finding it all a bit grim at the moment but that could just be my state of mind! Joining a C-5k group tonight so hopefully exercise will help!

Alkaloise · 08/01/2020 18:20

Well, just over 2 weeks of being "good" - watching portion sizes, far less sugar, far less (on weekdys no) alcohol, far less food in general, more movement in general and exercise in particular... and I have gained 2lbs on top of my original weight Hmm.
I kept my weight over Christmas eating what I wanted and pouring down the wine. Maybe my body reverse-diets?

wizzler · 08/01/2020 18:57

Fitbit suggests I am far less mobile then I should be.... but I have not had any chocolate, or crisps, made sensible choices at mealtimes and I have used the stairs more than the lift. For me it's about getting into the right state of mind....and I think I am getting there..

GoBackToPartyCity · 08/01/2020 21:54

Weigh day today and I’ve lost... a pound Grin

Not much, but a loss is a loss. I’ve been relatively inactive this week due to being ill with a stinking cold.

Current weight loss - 1lb
Lbs to goal weight - 16lb

Rowgtfc72 · 11/01/2020 14:42

6lbs lost this week. Woo hoo!
Hardly changed my diet but added exercise.

Alkaloise · 12/01/2020 07:48

11st 8lb to 11st 6.7lb. Not a massive shift, but the exercise/ reduced food appears to start working. I must also have lost fat; I bought some shapewear, which is now less tight than it was 2 weeks ago.

An hour's worth of cardio and muscle-building completed this morning. I try to vary my exercises each day and that does seem to avoid boredom setting in.

Redpriestandmozart · 12/01/2020 11:14

WEEK 2 WEIGH-IN
Start weight 170lbs
Goal weight 126lbs
Last week's weight 161lbs
Today's weight 158lbs
Loss 3lb

Intermittent fasting, 18:6 on WFPBD. While this week was much less I know the first week is water weight and hopefully now down to business.

Well done to everyone on all the losses this week, and to everyone who is exercising :)

ohohohmerrychristmas · 12/01/2020 18:09

Weigh in:

Start weight: 317lbs
Goal weight: 200 (for now)

311lbs now ... that’s a total loss of 4 pound or so since last week . Still sticking with Team RH and regular walks . Even if I can’t face going out I’m trying to do an absolute minimum of 1000 a day but prefer to be closer to 3000 if I can !!

wizzler · 12/01/2020 19:17

Weighing in tomorrow morning . Congrats on all the losses so far.

Redpriestandmozart · 18/01/2020 11:45

Has everyone jumped ship to a different thread? It's gone very quiet here. :(

Alkaloise · 18/01/2020 17:58

Still here. Difficult week, haven't lost or gained. I just keep exercising and keeping an eye on portion sizes.

Redpriestandmozart · 18/01/2020 19:22

@Alkaloise keep up the good work, if you can keep on track during a difficult week you're doing well. I weigh in tomorrow morning, don't feel much different this week but it went on slowly so contenting myself that it will come off slowly too.
