Let's do it!

I really need to get far more exercise this year.

Me too! Want to lose 10kg if possible but would be super pleased with 6kg by August 2020. I have a gym and pool in my building so no excuses there. Too many clothes in my wardrobe remain unworn. I'm doing Veganuary too.

I listen to the Half Size Me podcast and find it motivating, would also welcome other recommendations.

Joyfulincolour · 26/12/2019 12:40

Me please 🙋‍♀️ I need to be able to get into my clothes. I need to find an exercise that doesn't set my bad back off!!

cheesenpickles · 26/12/2019 12:42

I'm in. I lost a considerably amount in 2019 and a few lbs have crept back on (hey, it's Christmas!) but I'd like to get down 10kg/20ish lbs over the next year which is totally do-able.

@Joyfulincolour Can you do a lot of walking? Or Pilates with careful moderation?

I'm in

Tinselette1940 · 26/12/2019 13:46

I'm in!! I'm eating for nutrition and going to up exercise for health. I'm 50 in 2021. Something has to change. Need to loose roughly 3 stone sloooowly.

StripyTShirt · 26/12/2019 14:38

Me too!!! I need to lose around 6 stone 😩 I will exercise more (which isn't hard as I'm currently doing none Sad) and log everything on MFP. Better dig my treadmill out from under all those clothes Wink

Tinselette1940 · 26/12/2019 15:05

Sorry I meant lose not loose. I'd like things to be loose though.

coffeeagogo · 26/12/2019 15:12

Me - has all fallen apart this year whilst concentrating on studying and work - 2020 needs to be my year to sort myself out

Verveine · 26/12/2019 16:34

@tectonicplates
I use a pedometer - it's an Omron walking- style one. It's basic but good, you can just put it in your pocket or clip it to your clothes. It's really helped me to get motivated to do at least 10000 steps every day.

muddledmidget · 26/12/2019 16:35

I'm getting ahead and have decided to go to the gym tomorrow so I haven't missed the whole of December. Have packed my stuff ready and put my clothes at the side of my bed so there are no excuses. In terms of how busy the gym is in January, it varies, but generally by Feb half term a lot have given up. It depends on your schedule as well, I work shifts and weekends so can often fit in a workout about 11.30 Mon-Fri which is still quite quiet even in January

MoltoAgitato · 26/12/2019 16:40

Signing in for the last half stone. Have eaten what I damn well please Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and today, but normal service resumes tomorrow. My Fitness Pal and my Garmin step count is invaluable.

JorisBonson · 26/12/2019 16:41

Me too me too!

Currently sitting at an uncomfortable size 16 and would like to be a 14 again. I'm getting married in June so there's my goal.

twitchwitch · 26/12/2019 16:53

I'm in too. Would love to lose 5 stone, need to do something & stick with it this year. Tend to make a really good start & lose about a stone before getting bored & then put it all back on.

Newton2 · 26/12/2019 17:06

I'm in too would love to lose 2 stone! Avoiding weigh in until the new year but getting back on it as of Monday!

tatasa · 26/12/2019 17:07

Ooh yes me too please. Always been quite slim until menopause hit with a vengeance. Put on my (what I thought) much larger DHs rain jacket this morning, and couldn't get the zip to meet. That is the kick up the backside I need.

twinkledag · 26/12/2019 17:12

I'm in!

Newyearnewarse · 26/12/2019 17:49

I'm in ! I am not going to weigh myself until next week but I know I have at least 3 and half stone to lose.

I am happy in my job
I am starting an OU degree in feb (terrified)

Everything else is mostly ticking along nicely but my weight has been awful for years and I really need to sort myself out.

My downfall is starting well for a week or two and then I get bored and fall off the wagon and once that happens it takes me months to get back on track by which time I am even bloody bigger !

SilverOtter · 26/12/2019 17:49

I'm on it!💪

danni0509 · 26/12/2019 17:50

I'm in. Lost 1st 5.5lb since 28th October, had a few days off for Xmas, back on it tomorrow.

Another 3 ish stone to go in 2020.

neuroticchic · 26/12/2019 17:53

Finally confirmed my email address to say count me in too!
I want to lose weight and start to love myself again.

Megsmcgoo · 26/12/2019 18:30

Going to kick things off on the 30th, healthy food shop coming and got an appointment to start cross fit that night!

Redpriestandmozart · 26/12/2019 21:58

I'm starting on 30th too, shamefully I have put 3 stone back on after losing 7.5 stone 8 years ago. The last couple of years I have gained and lost then gained again so I need to nip this in the bud now.

Week one will be a detox from eating lots of rubbish over Christmas then I will go back onto 16:8 eating that I naturally fell into many years ago.

Good luck everyone on making a decision to start.

Wowserme · 26/12/2019 22:02

I’m in too, need to lose 4 stone 🙈

AntiHop · 26/12/2019 22:05

I'm in. I keep having good periods but then falling into bad habits because of stress. But I'm always going to have stress so I'm just going to have to suck it up.
