Let's do it!

I really need to get far more exercise this year.

OP posts:
Sickofpineneedles · 27/12/2019 10:12

@GoBackToPartyCity
I'm in the same situation I'm hypermobile and finding my joints are really sore from doing just walking.
I think swimming is the answer.
My youngest is 3 two.
I'm 5ft8 and 13 stone.

danni0509 · 27/12/2019 10:48

Back on mine today. Been doing weight watchers since October and done really well losing 1st 5.5lb in 8 weeks, planned to have 2 days off for Xmas and it turned into 5, if I don't get back on track today I'll do what I did 2 years ago.. put it all back on plus more.

Not going down that road again 😳

So today I'm having a cheese salad wrap and a bag of wotsits for lunch and Spag Bol for tea.

I gave a box of mince pies and some cadbury Xmas cakes and bits to Tesco food bank trolley this morning (just to remove them from my house) been and bought some bananas and some more salad & need to get my head back in the game.

danni0509 · 27/12/2019 10:49

P.s I'm 5ft 3, I'm 12st 8lb now, starting weight October 2019 was 13st 13lb. Heaviest ever weight was 2018 14st 3.5lb.

Sorry forgot to add. I get weighed on a Tuesday morning at weight watchers and won't be weighing until Tuesday 7th jan when my little terror is back to school.

muddledmidget · 27/12/2019 11:06

I weighed in this morning at 11st9.5, so have 2st2.5 to lose to get to my target of 9st7. Have already been to the gym and done another run of couch to 10km, will actually finish it this time, I've never got past week 4!

Will have a look through the fridge and meal plan for the week in a minute

TrueCrimeFan · 27/12/2019 14:05

I'm joining in! Had a December baby and I was heavy before that but even worse now.....! Want to have more energy plus fit my clothes better Smile

tectonicplates · 27/12/2019 14:15

Exercise class completed! I've also bought a new notebook to write down everything I eat

OP posts:
puds11 · 27/12/2019 14:20

@tectonicplates have you tried my fitness pal? I use it to record what I’ve eaten and the calorie content (has a search tool to find foods). It will also set you a daily calorie consumption limit depending on how much weight you want to loose. Best of all, it’s free!

cheninblanc · 27/12/2019 14:24

Me too, need to complete couch to 5k and get back to fasting. Need to lose two stone 😳

Redrosesandsunsets · 29/12/2019 06:50

I have not started running yet as I have just been super busy. After tomorrow it’s a lot less busy and I will begin to run again, but I am already watching what I eat. So that’s a start. Keep on everyone. Well done for doing the exercise class OP. That’s what I want to come back and report in a day or so ...

Rowgtfc72 · 29/12/2019 08:12

Join one of these threads every jan and yet again I'm still 14 and a half stone!
Need to lose at least 2 if not 4 stone.
Going to get my fitbit to talk to my new phone and have a shiny new notebook to record everything.
Last year was not a good year. Diagnosed with ibs, b12 deficiency and arthritis in my hip and collarbone (it's already in my knees)
Need to weigh less and more importantly be more healthy before I hit 50 in two
years.
I bike 50 miles a week that doesn't touch my weight loss so looking at yoga and walking for now.

ArtistOfTheFloatingWorld · 29/12/2019 08:33

Can I join in too please? I could do with losing 3 stone but my aim is a stone before TTC again. The plan is to get on with intermittent fasting, and start up with a bit of exercise too

Newyearnewarse · 29/12/2019 08:40

Me too @Rowgtfc72
I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency a few years ago but it is now mostly under control.
Our weights are similar as well.
I really dont want to be joining another one of these threads next year. This has to be the last one !
Meal planning will start with a vengeance next week.

Nothingoriginalhere · 29/12/2019 09:03

can I join too please?
I need to lose 3-4 stones too and I'm only 5f3.5 so it really shows.
I'm going to do fast 800 starting on 2nd Jan, lots of walking and looking at starting swimming.
I am also sick of saying the same thing every NYE so its the last time - have 2 years before 50 and want to be comfortable and slim for it.

Burplecutter · 29/12/2019 09:54

@Redrosesandsunsets I watched that film too. I was already going to buy some, but that film pushed me to the finish line of buying some new running shoes, to get some jogging done in the New Year.

So I'm in too. I work full time and DD has about a million clubs and classes to go to in the week. So apart from my cycle commute it's hard finding time to do more exercise. But 2020 is the year I'm gonna get the scales to start on 10 or less. I'll weigh in properly later, cuppa first.

clare8allthepies · 29/12/2019 10:41

I’m in. I haven’t braved the scales in a fair while but reckon I need to lose about 3 stones to get into a normal BMI. We’ve still got family visits over the next week so it’s going to be tricky to do much before the kids go back to school.

MamaNewtNewt · 29/12/2019 16:58

I'm in. I have been relatively restrained over Christmas so hopeful I can lose a couple of stone in 2020. I need to lose at least five stone Blush

Good luck to everyone!

DivisionBelles · 29/12/2019 18:10

I’m in! Ideally need to lose 3, if not 4 stone. I hate the way my body looks at the moment and can’t understand why DH still fancies me as to me, I look awful. Giving up booze as it makes me feel terrible, interrupts my sleep and certainly doesn’t help with the weight loss. Going to try and up my exercise despite having a really sedentary office job.

Newyearnewarse · 30/12/2019 09:17

Bloody hell I braved the scales today and I am 14 and a half stone!!!!
I have written a meal plan for wed onwards and I am doing my shopping list for tomorrow . Planning is definitely the thing that helps me more than anything else.
We also have loads of fattening food hanging around and I need to get rid of that as well . Or at least hide it , chocolate is not really my vice but because it is in the house I keep eating it Blush

OxanaVorontsova · 30/12/2019 09:28

I’m in, just under 2 stones to lose by the end of June which is a pound a week, should be doable. Lost a stone in the summer on WW app and kept it off so I know I can do it...good luck everyone!

Obviouslynotallthere · 30/12/2019 10:12

I'm in. At least 2 st to lose.

Alkaloise · 30/12/2019 10:26

Joining. 5ft 3in, 11 1/2 stone. I am aiming to lose around 2 1/2 - 3 stone and this time actually keep it off.

Nothing too specific, mainly eating less through smaller portion sizes, drinking (far) less alcohol and reducing sugar - sugary drinks are my main downfall and I cannot abide squash or anything sweetened.

I have also started reducing 1/3 of the most calorific parts of meals (i.e. meat or starchy foods) and replacing them with 1/3 more vegatables and pulses. I used to do this all the time, then got lazy towards the end of this year.

I use an app on my phone to track my weight, but won't record calories consumed as I can become obsessive quite easily.

StripyTShirt · 30/12/2019 17:10

I have started today- logged everything on MFP and made hearty healthy stew for tea. Been food shopping and stocked up on lean meats and vegetables. Need to do it this year, I'm nearly back to my heaviest and I hate it Sad

Redpriestandmozart · 30/12/2019 17:26

I started yesterday, stepped on Yunmai scales (purchased 2 stone ago as thought they'd help me keep on track) blinking things died, thought I'd killed them but they just needed new batteries. They weigh in pounds so that doesn't depress me as seeing stones. My bastarding Fitbit converted the pounds (scales are linked) to stone so that was depressing :(

Weigh-in 28.12.19
Weight to lose 44lbs

OriginalFlake · 30/12/2019 23:52

Can I join you all? I have 4 stone to lose and every January I say this is going to be the year I do it, usually failed by February and spend the rest of the year fat and depressed. I've signed up for a c25k programme which starts towards the end of Jan and have started logging everything on MFP.
