How busy was your polling station?

I had to queue at the polling station this morning. That has never happened before. It was at about 07.45, it was raining and I'd have said it's a safe Tory seat where people might think their vote doesn't count.

Anybody else seeing signs of high/low turnout?

Just been, it was the busiest I've ever seen.

WiltedDaffs · 12/12/2019 17:47

I went at 2.30pm. No queue but people coming and going at a steady rate. Busier than I’ve seen it at a similar time in the past. DH is about to go now.

happycamper11 · 12/12/2019 17:48

Quiet one in one out kind of flow at mine at 11am. Safe SNP seat but I don't think anyone is entirely complacent

Turnout high here as well. It was busier than I've ever seen it when i went this morning (not my usual time admittedly) but when i went to pick up my DD at the time i usually go to vote it was busier than usual too. I passed 2 polling stations earlier in the day (about 11:30) and there was a steady steam of people walking to them in the rain.

Portulaca · 12/12/2019 17:49

Went about 2.30. V quiet, no one else in there. DH went before work, said he had to queue. Expect it will get busier again later.

transformandriseup · 12/12/2019 17:51

11am, about 4 people which probably counts as quite busy for a small village

MillieMoodle · 12/12/2019 17:53

Went at 07.45, one person coming out as DH and I went in (car sharing so went together), then one person going in as we came out. We're in a fairly solid Tory seat in a village. Would think it will be busier there tonight when people get back from work.

Marmite27 · 12/12/2019 17:54

The people said it had been really busy, had over 700 when I went after 4pm, and that’s high for us!

Taswama · 12/12/2019 17:54

Busy at about 5.30 at mine, but then in previous years I have voted much earlier in the day (due to school being shut so at home anyway).

ChoccyJules · 12/12/2019 17:55

Busier than usual around 4pm. So about seven people in the room not one, with a constant stream of cars pulling in and out of the car park. Unsafe Tory seat here.

WorraLiberty · 12/12/2019 17:55

My place of work became a polling station today.

By midday, we'd only had 75 voters through the door. Not sure how many after that.

ineedto · 12/12/2019 17:56

Steady flow at 5pm .

ChristmasSpirtsOnTheRocksPleas · 12/12/2019 17:56

No line at mine

Gingerninja01 · 12/12/2019 18:01

Not busy, only saw 4 other people voting, this was at about 1pm and it was pouring with rain however.

BillywigSting · 12/12/2019 18:03

Busier than I've ever seen it. I live in a VERY safe labour seat so results for my constituency will be interesting.

Our current mp is actually a decent bloke and his voting record aligns with what I would choose. He's been in the job for years and for good reason, he even lives in our constituency, does not have a massive house /fancy car or claim excessive amounts in expenses (less than £100 for a London hotel for example)

MotherOfTheNoise · 12/12/2019 18:05

We've walked/driven past a few times today and there is a steady stream of people going in. When we went to vote there was a bit of a queue but no more than a 5 minute wait. First time living in this area so I have no idea if that normal. Fairly small village, very safe Tory seat.

hazelnutlatte · 12/12/2019 18:19

Looked like the place was packed when I got there but everyone but me was taking part in a bowling tournament, I was the only one voting. I'll be back there later (am giving lifts to people without cars as it's a long walk) so will see if it gets busier then

doritosdip · 12/12/2019 18:23

I was the only voter there at 12:30pm

DeeZastris · 12/12/2019 18:23

Voted at about 6pm. Steady flow of people.

ColleysMill · 12/12/2019 18:26

Much busier than usual! I was surprised - probably safest tory seat ever.

Bumped in a good deal of people on the way out - ended up having a bit of a chinwag

Worriedandsadaboutthis · 12/12/2019 18:29

Nobody else there, just me Confused

BookWitch · 12/12/2019 18:33

I'm in a three way marginal and I can see the polling station from my house. It's been steady all day. Short queue when we went over at 4.30pm

bellinisurge · 12/12/2019 18:34

Busy when I went this morning; busy when dh went. More than usual according to the local officials.
Dh reckons it's the Brexit vote in our Labour but strong Leave area. Which currently has a 4,000 Labour majority. Should be interesting.

zen1 · 12/12/2019 18:34

I live in suburbia, loads of commuters and the polling station was a minute’s walk from the railway station so expecting to see lots of commuters on their way home when I went in just now. It was completely empty.

Unescorted · 12/12/2019 18:35

Went about 5 - normally I am the only person on my page to have been crossed off, about a third had been to vote this time. We have a lot of Labour signs along our road this time so it is pleasing to see.

The polling station had a steady flow of people & our local FB page has people asking where the polling station is.
