How busy was your polling station?

I had to queue at the polling station this morning. That has never happened before. It was at about 07.45, it was raining and I'd have said it's a safe Tory seat where people might think their vote doesn't count.

Anybody else seeing signs of high/low turnout?

I went to mine at 5:30pm today. Central London and completely dead, we were the only ones there.

safariboot · 12/12/2019 19:34

Active, we weren't the only people there, but no queuing. Voted about 11:30 am. Safe Labour seat.

JellyfishAndShells · 12/12/2019 19:35

Busy at 10 London suburb - many people, including me, arriving in a bit of a flurry as we hadn’t bothered to read the polling card and see that our polling station has been changed from a school to a church hall. One benefit of this ridiculous election is that they may change it permanently and stop the disruptive closure of the school.

I had to queue! Ten to 7 this evening, Scotland.

JellyfishAndShells · 12/12/2019 19:38

Seat currently Lib Dem and has swung to Con before ( the council swings virtually every time between Con/Lib Dem) but think it will be Lib Dem this time as strongly Remain.

lljkk · 12/12/2019 19:38

DS says he was the only voter at 3pm (market town in rainy East Anglia). LD - Tory marginal.

lilgreen · 12/12/2019 19:40

Steady stream at 6.30 pm

Haz1516 · 12/12/2019 19:40

Safe Tory rural seat. Had to queue outside. Never known it before.

PTW1234 · 12/12/2019 19:42

About the same, I went at 6:30pm so think I got the usual “just getting home from work” voters.

In fact most people in the queue had uniforms, suits etc - mix of ages

Mrsmadevans · 12/12/2019 19:42

Very busy, l can't remember it ever being so busy before tbh .

NaturalBornWoman · 12/12/2019 19:42

Couldn't park at 6.30 on way home from work, and the street was full of people walking to and from. I'll have to go back later. Small market town, safe Tory seat.

PTW1234 · 12/12/2019 19:43

Usually a labour safe seat (high profile MP), but it’s an affluent area so who knows this time!

Curlyshabtree · 12/12/2019 19:43

Busier than normal, 0745. Safe labour seat

user1497207191 · 12/12/2019 19:47

Absolutely heaving. The village was actually gridlocked at one point as the polling station car park is down a single lane side street. Also a constant stream of pedestrians through the village. Outside school drop off/pick up times it's usually deserted, but today, the village has been busy all day (and still is now). I think we're heading for a record high turn out.

Crabonastick · 12/12/2019 19:49

Pretty empty at 2pm- BoJo’s constituency

Japanesejazz · 12/12/2019 19:53

Just voted
Only me there
Safe Tory seat

Yubaba · 12/12/2019 19:53

I went at 9am after dropping DD at school, 2 people leaving when I went in and 2 coming in as I left.
We have a Council bi-election today too.
I went shopping today and drove past 3 or 4 polling stations and didn’t notice any queues outside but there seemed to be a lot of people around and it been absolutely pouring down all day.

BrokenWing · 12/12/2019 19:55

12:45, a handful of people there, only one person outside in the freezing cold representing their party (SNP). Have noticed that the last 3-4 times, no other party is there to represent themselves. They all used to be there with their big grins handing out leaflets on the way in.

tinytemper66 · 12/12/2019 19:56

I was there by 7am and the only one there to vote at that time!

Notso · 12/12/2019 19:56

There was only me at 6:30 and a load of parents waiting outside for kids clubs to finish.

snooksmcgee · 12/12/2019 19:59

Went to our village polling station at 10.30am - we are a Tory safe seat. Around 10 people voting and a further dozen or so going to/from polling station while I was there, which seemed much busier than previous years, especially as weather has been awful here today.

DoTheHop · 12/12/2019 20:05

It pissed rain here all day today but has stopped now. I wonder will some decide, fuck it, I might vote now it's stopped raining?

Ness1234 · 12/12/2019 20:07

No one at a Tory safe seat at 10:45am

Paddy1234 · 12/12/2019 20:08

Tory safe seat - no one there at 8am

AmyFl · 12/12/2019 20:09

Busier than usual.
