How busy was your polling station?

I had to queue at the polling station this morning. That has never happened before. It was at about 07.45, it was raining and I'd have said it's a safe Tory seat where people might think their vote doesn't count.

Anybody else seeing signs of high/low turnout?

Very quiet. No queues.

HappySonHappyMum · 12/12/2019 13:47

9:15am - empty - I was the only one there!

FruityWidow · 12/12/2019 13:48

Just 1 person who walked in before me around 10ish. My next door neighbour was walking in as I left.

One other person just after 9am

JewelTheft · 12/12/2019 13:52

But quieter than normal at lunchtime, but it is pissing with rain right now (Tory safe seat, sadly)

ClientListQueen · 12/12/2019 13:53

I was the first in and only one there (7.10am)
Fairly standard for my area

golddustwomen · 12/12/2019 13:55

Couple of elderly people, 4/5 max. This was my first time voting.

WitsEnding · 12/12/2019 13:57

Marginal seat - much busier than usual but no queue. Same story for all 3 hours I was there.

BeyondMyWits · 12/12/2019 13:59

10am at mine I was the only one there. THIS IS A MARGINAL - Tory/Lib dem seat here, 2.5k votes in it last time, tends to switch between the parties over the years... you'd have thought there'd be more interest. Sad

tajobquery · 12/12/2019 14:00

Jam packed - used to be a safe SNP then changed to Tory last election . Rural village in NE Scotland Jam packed this morning with elderly voters at 9am, I had to help my wee granny in . Local shop delighted with the sudden stream of passing customers !!

BinkySodPlop · 12/12/2019 14:03

Empty at midday. Mind you, it's always been empty when I've been (it's been my station for over 8 years), at different times of the day, so it may just be an unpopular location!

JoGose · 12/12/2019 14:04

Really busy, had to queue

coconuttelegraph · 12/12/2019 14:06

I was the only one in and there was no sign of anyone leaving or going in and I was there a little while chatting to the clerks

VanyaHargreeves · 12/12/2019 14:07

It was dead about 4/5 people at 1pm

Banana770 · 12/12/2019 14:07

Quiet at 9:30am and there wasn’t a queue, but from experience it’s busier on the way to and from work around here.

NewName54321 · 12/12/2019 14:08

Three people in mine.

But it's very rural and they said they'd been busy.

Some of it may be people who might normally stroll down to the voting station on a nice summer evening have been going early to avoid the dark, so may even up over the day.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 12/12/2019 14:08

normal for here - i was the only one when I went.

FaFoutis · 12/12/2019 14:10

A stream of pensioners going into mine. Tory safe seat, sadly.

WifOfBif · 12/12/2019 14:11

Busy at 7am

FiveNightsAtMummys · 12/12/2019 14:12

I was the only one there.

differentcity · 12/12/2019 14:12

I usually vote midday-ish aiming for a quiet time and there's never anybody else around but today, there were about half a dozen people even though it was tipping it down. My parents went to the same polling station at about half 7 on their way to work and there was a little queue, which is unusual. I suspect turn out will be higher than usual here. Constituency I'm in had one of the closest results in 2017.

GruffalOH · 12/12/2019 14:13

11am and just me. It was tipping it down with rain though, and has since dried up a bit, so possibly busier at drier times!

SilverySurfer · 12/12/2019 14:13

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat
It’s raining here all day so I’m hoping it will keep some of the older (Tory) voters away!

Dream on. There were plenty of oldies at my polling station earlier (including me).

thiscouldbethehill · 12/12/2019 14:13

@Apolloanddaphne No I’m currently in Wales, but funnily enough I am actually from the East of Scotland and most of my family still live in that area so I’m aware how close it is.

WwfLeopard · 12/12/2019 14:14

Packed!! I’ve never seen it like that b4
