Always loved treating myself to bits in Mark's and Spencer's food but I've been in today got afew meal deals eg 2 x large pizzas and 3 sides for ten pounds great and yes I'm never going to buy my weekly shop in there but some stuff is actually really good price and it's such lovely quality food!

If I worked for M&S this is exactly what I would write !

Grumpbum123 · 12/11/2019 15:37

I agree the fine in for £12 when you buy a chicken is good value

Autumnfresh · 12/11/2019 15:38

I bought a 4 person lasagne from Tesco for £8, to find that it was only £6.50 in marks and was the baked kind AND the same weight.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/11/2019 15:40

Shame the company policies on changing facilities are nuts. All the pizza in the world can’t make up for that.

Coldhandscoldheart · 12/11/2019 15:43

Nah, an m&s sarnie used to be a real treat, now they just taste of cold claggy bread & insides.

RaymondStopThat · 12/11/2019 15:47

Oh there's a thing. A pro M & S thread after all the negative publicity. For what it's worth, I think their food is wildly overpriced and overrated. Not that it really matters as I'm boycotting therm over the changing room discrimination now anyway.

Fallstar · 12/11/2019 15:48

Even if the food is nice and/or well priced, their changing-room policy means I won't buy it.

Unshriven · 12/11/2019 15:51

If M&S are going to pay people to talk up their brand, it helps if those stooges know their audience. Hmm

LoseLooseLucy · 12/11/2019 15:53

Well this is cringey 😬

AwdBovril · 12/11/2019 15:57

Yeah, I've had better. For less money. Without the side of misogyny.

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2019 15:59

We have had an M&S food open up quite recently near us. I went in with my basket all expectant, but came out with a loaf and a reduced trifle. Nothing really took my fancy.

I didn't think it was anything special TBH.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 12/11/2019 16:01

Love the plant based range from there - (Plant Kitchen, think it's called?)
The dirty fries are amazing

maryberryslayers · 12/11/2019 16:02

I've done my weekly shop in m&s food for over 10 years. I've cancelled my large Xmas order and won't be setting foot in there again following their changing room policy. I'm disgusted with them for alienating long standing customers.

innuendobingo · 12/11/2019 16:06

There's a programme on Channel 5 on Thursday eve at 9 I think, about the difference between Waitrose and M&S food, don't know if it was recorded pre-changing room scandal

Melroses · 12/11/2019 16:06

The problem I have with M&S food is that it is very strictly portioned. So if I need to feed 3 adults, then I have to buy 1 pack and not have enough or two packs and have two much and then it gets too expensive.

I can get one pack and get something else to eke it out, but I am running out of inspiration on that one.

Grumpbum123 · 12/11/2019 16:07

FFS I have no idea about bc their changing room policy, obviously living under a rock but the offers are good and I will spend my money where I like

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 12/11/2019 16:13

If I want a ready meal or sandwich I can go somewhere that doesn't have a policy of allowing Male bodied people into female changing rooms.

There is plenty of choice.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/11/2019 16:15

I found the vegan food beyond revolting, but I don’t shop there now.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 12/11/2019 16:15

Oh, and no one who can actually cook does their weekly shop there anyway.

Have you seen their prices for fruit & veg? Not to mention the packaging.

Flyingsouthwiththeswallows · 12/11/2019 16:19

Agree that I found the Vegan food revolting and very overpriced.

MissLadyM · 12/11/2019 16:21

I find the food massively overrated and overpriced. I wouldn't set foot in there ever again though due to their recent decisions!

leghairdontcare · 12/11/2019 16:22

I paid £4 for some frankly underwhelming sushi for my lunch. Usually food is nice there but I will carry the sushi grudge for a long time.

Evilmorty · 12/11/2019 16:27

Turkey feast. The ultimate Christmas sandwich and I won’t hear otherwise.

Flashbackflossie · 12/11/2019 16:27

Seriously? I think it's overpriced fairly average tasting ready meals.
They make the packaging look attractive, I suppose.
If you don't like or can't be bothered with cooking, then I can see why you might want something in a packet that you can bung in the microwave, but it's hardly comparable to a well cooked meal from fresh ingredients.

20viona · 12/11/2019 16:32

Yep and those pizzas are so tasty! We are having it for tea tonight!
