Always loved treating myself to bits in Mark's and Spencer's food but I've been in today got afew meal deals eg 2 x large pizzas and 3 sides for ten pounds great and yes I'm never going to buy my weekly shop in there but some stuff is actually really good price and it's such lovely quality food!

I don't feel comfortable spending my money at M&S anymore, but my comfort doesn't matter apparently.

Food probably very nice, but their heavy handed marketing strategy (where's the 'ad' notification?) on this thread and nationwide disregard of single sex changing rooms stinks.

JessicaRarebit · 12/11/2019 19:46

I really love m&s food. It’s on par with Waitrose for me. @evilmorty I’m with you on the festive toasted sandwich - it’s sublime.

Their mini walnut whip things are lush too.

Mummyoflittledragon · 12/11/2019 19:50

Bloody hell this thread really is a parallel to twitter. Ignore. Ignore. Ignore. Then respond to fluff.

Cccsss011 · 12/11/2019 19:53

I'll keep buying the food and try my knickers on at home!!!

OP posts:
NemophilistRebel · 12/11/2019 19:53

We switched from Ocado to Waitrose too because of the future agreement with M&S

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/11/2019 20:01

You may be trying your pants on at home - but guess who has been in them before you - Highlander20!

isspacethefinalfrontier · 12/11/2019 20:03

It’s on par with Waitrose for me.

It really isn't. Waitrose sell everything you need to cook, M&S don't. Waitrose have lots of great French lines for example.

M&S is ready meals and hype. Look at the ads- they are aspirational pitched at the treat market, not the cook.

HermioneWeasley · 12/11/2019 20:04

Food is ok but expensive

Their contempt for their core customers is a league all its own.

Dangerfloof · 12/11/2019 20:06

Ah I will sorely miss some of their food. I really like it. In fact am near one next week by chance and I would love to spend some money in it. Sadly until this stupid changing room policy is overturned I wont spend any money in there. And frankly if they take too long about it I may never again spend in m and s

PuzzleRocks · 12/11/2019 20:07

Hi shill

I wouldn’t eat their overpriced food if you paid me now. I’m glad you will try your frillies on at home though since I suspect you are a bloke. One less creep in the women’s changing area.

VenusTiger · 12/11/2019 20:16

If this was an M&S employee, they wouldn’t point out that it’s too expensive for the weekly shop Hmm

Dangerfloof · 12/11/2019 20:17

I'll keep buying the food and try my knickers on at home!!!
Ok and who tried them on before you?
Did they wank in them then put them back hoping you wouldn't notice the wet patch? Can you be sure?

Unshriven · 12/11/2019 20:21

VenusTiger Really!?

The OP is either a Nethun, or a shill.

Are you really so insulated?

Either way, M&S have shown themselves to be dispensible.

Which is sad, because I had my eye on a Per Una gold coloured velvet jacket.

And their toilets in the Marble Arch store were indispensible during the last anti Brexit march.

isspacethefinalfrontier · 12/11/2019 20:22

And their toilets in the Marble Arch store were indispensible during the last anti Brexit march.

Ones in Fortnums are nicer.

Sexnotgender · 12/11/2019 20:24

I used to like their food. Now that they treat women with contempt I won’t be purchasing anything further.

missyB1 · 12/11/2019 20:29

Can’t beat their treat foods. Cakes, biscuits, puddings (I don’t care how much sugar is in them that’s the point of a treat!) I don’t buy groceries there and can’t imagine doing a weekly shop, but if I need special treats then I go to M&S.

Unshriven · 12/11/2019 20:30

Aldi & Lidl are doing great Christmas stuff, for the deserters...

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 12/11/2019 20:30

Ok and who tried them on before you?

Could say that about any clothes you try on in the shops.

The OP is either a Nethun, or a shill
Grin
Need to get the bingo card out
Someone against group think FWR board, deffo must be a Nethun or a shill!
Hope she doesn't come back too later on to post or the conspiracy theorists will mark off another bingo square as she'll no doubt be accused of being in another timezone which means she's a bot Grin

VenusTiger · 12/11/2019 20:32

Insulated? Why are you suggesting that? I’ve just responded to posts.

If OP wants to buy food from M&S and they’re not concerned as we are about the changing room policy then that’s their decision.

It’s anti bullying week too ffs!

Iwouldbecomplex · 12/11/2019 20:34

Sorry...shameless M&S fan here...

I don't get all the fuss with the changing room policy either. Plenty of shops have mixed changing rooms, doesn't remotely bother me using them. There are curtains of you want privacy. People are weirdly paranoid that people are trying to perve on them.

And I also like the food. Not for a weekly shop, but their sourdough, flapjack cookies, own brand version of wotsits, strawberry and cream yoghurts, black pudding and pain aux rasins are the best!

GCAcademic · 12/11/2019 20:34

It’s all processed shit packaged in a way that’s acceptable to the middle classes. As someone has already said, anyone who can cook is not going to shop there. I’m bloody gutted about Ocado ditching Waitrose for them.

Unshriven · 12/11/2019 20:36

@WotchaTalkinBoutWillis and @Cccsss011

Do you realise what you are signing away?

Are you women?

Do you have children?

Do you care at all about the protections historically afforded to women out of necessity?

Unshriven · 12/11/2019 20:37

Also @VenusTiger

VenusTiger · 12/11/2019 20:40

@unshriven - beaches, swimming pool shared changing rooms what about those?

If you don’t like it fine. There are plenty of women and moms who will disagree with it also, but stop forcing people who are okay with it to agree with you. It’s just as bloody bad as the issue in hand.

Again, it’s anti bullying week - stop pressurising PPs it’s their decision.

VenusTiger · 12/11/2019 20:41

@Unshriven yes I’m a mother and I buy clothes and bring them home mostly - it doesn’t bother me on my own trying on clothes in M&S and if I were worried about it I’d either take my complaint to the top with an actual accusation or I’d stop changing there.
