Always loved treating myself to bits in Mark's and Spencer's food but I've been in today got afew meal deals eg 2 x large pizzas and 3 sides for ten pounds great and yes I'm never going to buy my weekly shop in there but some stuff is actually really good price and it's such lovely quality food!

Well, the good news is that M&S food is mostly shrink-wrapped, which gives you some assurance of hygiene.

Sadly, after seeing all the fetish reviews on their website by men, I can't say the same for the knickers. If you plan to buy any off the rack from there, may I suggest a blacklight?

Legomadx2 · 12/11/2019 20:44

I thought this post was going to say the food has gone downhill and I was going to agree.

I'm very sad Ocado is going to M&S next year and hope Waitrose will improve their delivery service as there's no way I'm using M&S for my main shop. It's just not good enough.

kateandme · 12/11/2019 20:48

changing room policy.sorry im so out of touch it seems?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 12/11/2019 20:48

Well, seeing as the conspiracy theorists are out n force - (I'm not usually one for them myself but I feel like joining in just for the hell of it)

Sadly, after seeing all the fetish reviews on their website by men

Could be seen as a bit fishy if there's suddenly an influx of "fetish reviews" by men on the M and S site when some on MN are up in arms over the news and want a mass boycott.

Feels strange with a tin foil hat on

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 12/11/2019 20:49

God I love M&S food at xmas. Bastards. Won't be going there. Waitrose for me this year as I can't safely try on clothes with my daughter.

SeigneurLapindeGrantham · 12/11/2019 20:50

M&S french fries from the chiller cabinet look and taste exactly like the frozen ones from Lidl which are way cheaper

BabyMoonPie · 12/11/2019 20:50

There's an M and S simply food near my office. I try not to pass it because these things are irresistible! :

Curry
Extremely chocolatey biscuits
Percy pigs
Colin caterpillar cakes
The yoghurt that's basically flavoured cream

I'm due a visit soon for some Christmas treats :-)

Cantsleeppast3am · 12/11/2019 20:51

Paid £11 for an organic chicken and £5 for "the best" chicken tikka masala. Both very average. The naan bread was very good though and I do love their beef cannelloni ( have done for years)
But m&s not as special as it used to be.

VenusTiger · 12/11/2019 20:54

May I ask, genuinely, why are some PPs presuming that a man in a unisex dressing room is going to be a predator! I mean wtf is happening to us!
Again, beaches and leisure centre (swimming pools and some gyms) all have shared dressing rooms - why are M&S, not the only clothes shop to dive doing this, getting a raw deal? I genuinely want to know why some ppl are so afraid of men in the dressing room. If it’s not your dad/brother/son you’re all shit scared? Why?

littlecabbage · 12/11/2019 20:56

@kateandme

This is the issue:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3731834-Its-official-Marks-and-Spencer-have-fallen

It’s onto the third thread now! Tedious though that may seem, I recommend reading all three. I’ve had my eyes well and truly opened.

Also boycotting M&S until they wake up, and start obeying the Equality Act 2010.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 12/11/2019 20:56

@kateandme changing room policy.sorry im so out of touch it seems?

M and S have recently said that they have an inclusive policy re changing rooms and are happy to include trans women.
A lot of people aren't happy about this and think they shouldn't be in there and are announcing they're boycotting as a result.

littlecabbage · 12/11/2019 20:58

The fetishist reviews are dated, and pre-date the M&S changing room statement. So NOT written by MNetters, no.

TheChampagneGalop · 12/11/2019 20:59

Venus read Dangerfloof's link

TheChampagneGalop · 12/11/2019 21:02

Sadly women don't need to invent male fetish reviews, in fact most of us were blissfully unaware of that being a thing allowed on the M&S website.

thankyou

Mummyoflittledragon · 12/11/2019 21:04

@WotchaTalkinBoutWillis
You definitely need that tin hat. No review has been posted by a man about the particular knicker since the changing room policy was discovered. The last review by a man was in September. Moreover, there are Male reviews on other websites like next and Debenhams.

EdWinchester · 12/11/2019 21:04

I didn't try on my jeggings, but would have no issue whatsoever doing so. Nor would I belittle those who choose to have an issue.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 12/11/2019 21:07

There you go then!

Or then there's this
The fetishist reviews are dated, and pre-date the M&S changing room statement.

hmmmm
which it is then, so confoooosed right now lol
Although I've seen with own eyes some of the stuff put on here about this particular issue so I know which one I'm more inclined to believe

Grin
VenusTiger · 12/11/2019 21:22

@TheChampagneGalop thanks, I just did, I don’t get it though, are all men now predators?
Are all shared changing rooms (swimming pools etc) no go areas now? Why only M&S?
Tk maxx has a shared changing room - why are we now fretting about pervs and rapists? We could worry about that all day every day without changing rooms?

Sexnotgender · 12/11/2019 21:23

This is why we don’t want to share spaces. Amongst other reasons.

Mark's and Spencer's food
littlecabbage · 12/11/2019 21:28

which it is then, so confoooosed right now lol

What are you confused about? We are both saying that all the male fetishist reviews were written before (i.e. pre-date) the M&S policy came to light. So couldn't have been written by MNetters in response.

You do indeed appear confused but I don't know why!

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 12/11/2019 21:31

Are all shared changing rooms (swimming pools etc) no go areas now? Why only M&S?

Exactly, they're not the only store or public place to have a trans inclusive policy, a lot do.

Sagradafamiliar · 12/11/2019 21:37

Don't be daft, Venus. NAMALT but the ones who are, are welcome in those spaces. That's shit, don't you think?

littlecabbage · 12/11/2019 21:55

NAMALT = Not all men are like this.
