WWYD - Feel so betrayed

Need some advice please.

We moved house and applied for a school place for our DC - due to circumstances we had to rent, though we ensured we met all the criteria and it was by no means a short term let. We are in this house for at least 2 years and ideally we are looking to buy once those 2 years are up or will just carry on renting where we are.

We came to know that someone wrote a letter to the school telling them that we had given false information and that we had no intention of staying in the area. The school did their investigations with us and found that we had complied with all the criteria etc.

We asked to see a copy of the letter under DPA 2018 and I have just received it. It was handwritten and matches very closely with my best friend. It also had content in it about things which only she knew. She has just asked us to be legal guardians for her 2 DC and her and her DH's power of attorney.

Haven’t rtft but in the side by side pics, the u on the right has the little tail, but not on the left. I think not the same. The kids clubs have your address and may have dc applying to the school!

I fist thought not the same writer too, but I did realise I write completely differently sometimes depending on the mood.
I sometimes write capital M like M or sometimes like m but big etc, loads of things like that where I change or drop the loops and connections etc.
A lot of it looked very similar, but for me the crucial thing was her mentioning to read up on criteria properly and mentioning a mutual friend whose place was withdrawn. She obviously managed to achieve it with mutual friend(having no vested interest!) too, sounds a bit like an illness/power game/ whatever.

LochJess how would the school know who wrote it? I assume she wrote anonymously in both cases.

OP, I have a feeling she has been doing it literally for years as some kind of sick hobby/game and you only know of your case as the second one - so definitely insanity, but not a moment, more like a regular occurrence.

She sounds like she is of unsound mind.

I’d certainly be suspicious of her having done this to the friend who had her dc’s school place withdrawn.

There doesn’t appear to be any logical sane reason why she did this!
