Never seen it before in my life - until today when I watched all of series one (off sick just now).

How can I not have seen this before? Absolutely fabulous stuff. Alison Steadman is so identical to my Auntie Steff I can't believe it. Grin

No point to my post other than it's so nice to watch something that genuinely makes you laugh and I can't remember the last time that happened with a TV programme. Smile

It’s bloody brilliantly it is!
I LOVE Gavin & Stacey, I was a bit late to it as well but binge watched the box sets when pregnant and have watched and rewatched since.
Half my family are Welsh and other half from London/Essex so I can identify each and every character too which makes it funnier!!

CMOTDibbler · 10/10/2019 20:04

Its one of those shows I can watch over and over again, and theres always new things you notice

CaptainMyCaptain · 10/10/2019 20:05

Yes. Every time you watch you see or hear something you missed before. It's brilliantly written and acted.

My favourite comedy. I can watch it over and over and still find it hilarious. Cannot WAIT for the Christmas special this year.

Felipa · 10/10/2019 20:09

Have watched every episode many many times. There's something about it makes me feel cosy.
Roll on Christmas Day this year!!

Paddy1234 · 10/10/2019 20:10

I love that they had the surnames as serial killers - west and shipman

AlwaysDancing1234 · 10/10/2019 20:11

Oh, what’s occurin’? Grin
I’m a bit too excited about the Christmas Special too!!

saffy1234 · 10/10/2019 20:12

Oh!Spider Charlotte!
Love this show my favourite is when Micks on the telly! Grin

AlwaysDancing1234 · 10/10/2019 20:13

A lot of episodes on the BBC iPlayer available for download - that’s next week’s commute to work sorted!

wendz86 · 10/10/2019 20:13

It's so great, I can watch each episode over and over again as others have said.

MrsGrindah · 10/10/2019 20:16

Love it love it love it - but you just know the Christmas special is going to be rubbish.

PeopleMover · 10/10/2019 20:24

I'm feeling a box set binge sess coming on!

Love Gavin and Stacey.

OhioOhioOhio · 10/10/2019 20:25

Me too. Any recommendations for something similar?

JasperRising · 10/10/2019 20:26

I love how they just casually drop in all the random things Nessa has done previously and all the famous men she's had relationships with.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 10/10/2019 20:27

It's brilliant-

Alison Steadman a national treasure!

I can watch it over and over-any episode and laugh every single time

BusySittingDown · 10/10/2019 20:28

I'm glad you have finally discovered it! Absolute gem of a programme!

It's not Christmas until I've watched the Christmas Special. I'm ridiculously excited for the new special! Grin

HotChocolateLover · 10/10/2019 20:28

I love it when Smiffy and Rudy are fighting on the floor and Gavin is completely non plussed by it. Oh and the shagging 😉🤦‍♀️

CaptainMyCaptain · 10/10/2019 20:30

And what did happen on the fishing trip? Nobody knows!

BusySittingDown · 10/10/2019 20:31

You leek munching sheep shaggers! Is the best line from any programme ever!

beatriceprior · 10/10/2019 20:32

If you find Dawn funny she has done a couple of unrelated series on her own. Camping and Sally 4 Ever.

Sally 4 ever is probably the funniest thing I've ever seen.

Mimsnethe · 10/10/2019 20:35

Dawn and Pete’s vow renewal is the best 30 mins of tv ever.

“Pete, the two of us need look no more”

Pete talk-singing Coldplay.

The ring.

Mimsnethe · 10/10/2019 20:39

Have you heard the podcast from Julia Davis and Vicki Pepperdine called “Dear Joan and Jericha” about a pair of agony aunts? It’s hilarious but utterly depraved at times.

LiveFatsDieYoGnu · 10/10/2019 21:45

Love love love Gavin and Stacey. Some of the things Doris comes out with... “don't go giving him nothing on the first night - a kiss, a cuddle, a cheeky finger, just don't go selling the whole farm” 😂

beatriceprior · 10/10/2019 21:48

@Mimsnethe

No I haven't. I'm ashamed to say I've never listened to a single podcast ever.

What do I need to download to get this? I'm so bored of my music when I have to drive.

I love Vicky Pepperdine

JessePinkmanYo · 10/10/2019 21:53

I like it but my god I can't stand Stacy and it puts me off the whole programme. Such a whiny whinging spoilt brat. It's a shame because I love Pam. Best character. But I can't sit through it.
