Never seen it before in my life - until today when I watched all of series one (off sick just now).

How can I not have seen this before? Absolutely fabulous stuff. Alison Steadman is so identical to my Auntie Steff I can't believe it.

No point to my post other than it's so nice to watch something that genuinely makes you laugh and I can't remember the last time that happened with a TV programme.

Love the bit in the caravan without Nessa and Dave where he says he doesn’t like the thought of her doing the things they do together with Smithy.

She replies, we didn’t-‘I didn’t have my bag, my tools, my cape!’

Just finished watching the one when Uncle Bryn organised Gwen's suprise birthday barn dance. Loved this episode, sad because Gavin and Stacy not getting etc but nearly cried laughing at Rob Brydon when he's so stressed about the party. Bloody hilarious.

I only started watching when ill about a year ago. It's bloody hilarious. I ended up binge watching the lot over a few weeks.
Even DH found it funny and he usually hates any comedy I like the miserable bugger.

I was so happy when I heard there was going to be a Christmas special. Absolutely love G&S.

I love it but I never rewatch the first series, it definitely improved a lot as it went on I think.

I know, that really made me laugh! @imundecided. And the bit when he was trying to quieten everyone down in the hall before Gwen arrived.

I've loved rewatching this with my teenage daughters. It's just so warm, I could watch over and over. It's a strange plot though - the main characters aren't actually that likeable, it's the supporting cast who make it.

When you've finished Gavin and Stacey, try Detectorists. It's very gentle but every episode has a couple of things that make me laugh out loud. It's lovely.

Cannot wait for the Christmas special. I cried too at the wedding letter and when they finally got pregnant and she tipped all the tests over the bed. I also loved when Nessa called Gwen her mum.

Stacey was a total brat at times. Especially around the house stuff, but I was still happy when they got back together after Ness had the baby.

I also agree with PP about Stacey, she was a weak and annoying character at times.

I adore Bryn, so funny, they're ALL funny.

OP, when you've finished watching this elevnty-million times try "Stella", also set in South Wales, it's also Ruth Jones and whilst it's not quite as funny as G&S, it's much longer. I dare you not to love 'Bobby'...

I cried laughing at the Bryn/Smithy workout scene in the home gym.."Bryn!!!" "Smithhyy!!""Bryn!!"
I also use the phrase "you're like two peas in a bag" quite a lot.
Have there only been 2 Christmas specials made so far? I can't beleive Dor is gone.

Even the small pointless bits like Smithy and Rudi doing their rap to American Boy down the phone to Gavin are fab.

It's the normal, pointless stuff that's the funniest I think.

I love all the characters, but Uncle Bryn is the one who's made me laugh most so far. He's so sweet and ridiculous at the same time.

I just watched Gavin and Stacey for the first time a couple of months ago. For years I have refused thinking it was rubbish and I wouldn't enjoy it can't believe I deprived myself all that time.

As soon as I finished it I went to rewatch it but series 1 had been removed . Can't wait for the Christmas special.

Pam and Mick are definitely my favourites love when they get together with Pete and Dawn. Can't stand Stacey. Considering the are supposed to be the main characters Gavin and Stacey are both pretty weak. I'm sure I read somewhere that this was done deliberately I could be wrong though.

Smug alert. Smug alert........ I watched from the very 1st one. My dh had read a promo and said it would be just my thing. I only put it on to prove I wouldnt like it lol. Love this show!
