So I gave birth to DD last Sunday. My nan died the same day, 2 hours before she was born. So I really don't feel like I can show her off to people as they're mourning the loss of my nan. Parents and siblings have met her, but any interactions feel...put on? Like they're being polite. And it feels wrong to be posting photos of her to friends and family when I should also be mourning.

So can I show her off to you guys?

Welcome to the world Charlotte! She's a beautiful girl, OP - congratulations! I'm really sorry about your grandmother : I'm sure the rest of the family will get lots of comfort from seeing your lovely girl as soon as the immediacy of the grief has gone a bit.

Mumprobs · 23/09/2019 22:40

Congratulations OP! What a beautiful baby. Sorry about your nan also, I’m sure your daughter has helped you through this hard time a lot Flowers

Don't know whether to say congratulations first or condolences first, I'm sorry for your loss and your family.
Congratulations on the birth of your gorgeous baby!! She is adorable!!

BunnyTeapot · 23/09/2019 22:45

She is beautiful.
My Grandad died a couple of months after my son was born (he was ill from my son being born) and my mum explained to my niece that it's like the circle of life. Grandad died so someone else can live. It might bring you some peace thinking like that 🤷‍♀️

Sending you condolences but newborn baby snuggles are all you need right now ❤

theconstantinoplegardener · 23/09/2019 22:45

Such a perfect complexion! She's lovely. Enjoy this special time with your beautiful baby, despite the sadness about your nan.Flowers

But what a gorgeous girl she is! Congratulations, and Charlotte is a beautiful name. It was on my shortlist, but I've been 'blessed' with boys :)
Many condolences for the loss of your grandmother. Flowers

Personally I think bollocks to mourning.
Do mourn if you need to. But I know you're excited to show off your little girl. Celebrate the living, I say.

Don't be scared to show her off. She's beautiful! Plus I'm positive your dear old nan would want you to cheer every one up with that gorgeous tiny face of hers.

Congratulations love. You've done so well.

BishBashBoshy · 23/09/2019 22:48

My mum has just died. Show your lovely baby off. It's the circle of life and I'm sure she will provide comfort. My mum wouldn't have wanted you to hide your beautiful baby away and I'm sure your nan wouldn't either. Many congratulations by the way.

Autumn2019 · 23/09/2019 23:19

Thank you for sharing. What a gorgeous little thing she is! Congratulations on your new arrival (cuteness overload). I hope you are recovering well x

Justaboy · 23/09/2019 23:25

And i expect Nans up there gazing down on her with love:)

Odd but my girl grandchild is in the same room where nan died! i think her presence is there and will look after her!

Drabarni · 23/09/2019 23:28

What a beautiful little girl and with a sensitive mum like you, she'll not go far wrong.
I'm so sorry for your loss, it sounds like your nan will be greatly missed.
I'm sure your family will love your dd.

Lyingonthesofainthedark · 23/09/2019 23:32

What a really pretty baby. Congrats.

yolofish · 23/09/2019 23:38

Charlotte is glorious, and your nan would definitely have approved. My DF dropped dead 8 weeks before my oldest was born - awful shock, but my god they would have got on like a house on fire! She is a complete chip off his old block.

Belgianbuns · 23/09/2019 23:43

What a totally beautiful baby, congratulations. And so sorry for the loss of your nan 😔💐
