Shiny new thread, continuing from here

A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

My body is thankful to be done with so much rich food over Xmas and be back in some kind of normal eating pattern!

Yesterday:
B: Weetabix with banana (I was actually craving this 😆 ), tea
L: bacon roll, an apple & pear. Small piece of chocolate Yule log, coffee.
D: chicken curry with rice and few bites of naan bread, water.
S: cheese & biscuits with chutney

AwkwardSquad · 30/12/2019 18:52

Main meals today were pretty much the same as yesterday but lunch and dinner reversed. I want something different tomorrow, I’m bored now!

OP posts:
Nuttyaboutnutella · 30/12/2019 19:13

B: yoghurt bowl (yoghurt, banana, blueberries, walnuts, almonds & honey), tea.
L: jacket potato with prawn Marie rose, and salad. Water.
Tea and a small piece of chocolate cake mid afternoon (PMS, damn you!)
D: pasta with tomato and basil sauce + parmesan, tenderstem broccoli, water

Going to have some chocolate soon, probably these lemon dark chocolate drop things from Hotel Chocolat. And more tea.

AwkwardSquad · 30/12/2019 19:15

I tried some rosemary and sea salt dark chocolate today. Can’t recommend it. The rosemary was too strong and it tasted quite medicinal. I may try cooking with it...

Awkward Squad do you ever make chilli? I always put a square or two in chilli, it's lovely. I imagine rosemary and sea salt would work well.

Nuttyaboutnutella yes, we make veggie chilli, I’ll give it a try in that. Good tip about amount to use, thanks, I may have been tempted to put more than that in but it needs to complement not dominate.

Drinks were lots of tea and coffee, water and I'm going to have a glass of merlot with my cheese and crackers now.

Bloodybridget · 02/01/2020 22:03

@AwkwardSquad I saw Little Women! I did mostly enjoy it, but I know the books backwards and resented the plot changes!
