Shiny new thread, continuing from here

A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

1x alpen light
1 x latte (home made)
1 x advent calender chocolate (galaxy)

Tea will be salmon, veg with rice or jacket.

B - usual muesli blah blah etc
L - Waitrose wild rice and haloumi salad; lots of melon slices
An energy ball
D - big bowl of pasta, peas, pesto, parmesan and rocket; grapes
May have a cookie in a bit

Oh and half a small takeaway cup of chai latte. It was unbelievably sweet, drank some because i was cold and thirsty but couldn’t finish it.

B- mince pie porridge made with almond milk
S- two satsumas
L- itsu katsu instant noodle pot, mini mince pie
S- greggs christmas tree biscuit
D- chicken chow mein ready meal
S- 2 crumpets with crunchy pb and banana, handful popchips, advent calendar chocolate.

B: porridge with raspberries and honey
S: several homemade brownies at playgroup
L: egg mayonnaise sandwich, crisps and a pear
Picked at some pringles and cheese this afternoon
D: battered fish, chips and peas
Just had some plum crumble and custard

B - toast with marmite

L - Ham and cheese toastie, crisps and a Crunchie

D - mixed vegetable pasta with some olives and peppers stuffed with cream cheese

S - mince pie (the M&S collection ones that won one of the taste tests.... they're very nice.)

Menemen (Turkish omelette) with added spinach.

Mince pie cookies Xmas Grin

Spiced mixed lentil soup.

2l if water

Baked tuna and bean mixed green veg salad.

Having some wine now. I try times as clean as I can.

Ellapaella I’ve had haggis pakora back in the dim and distant past, they were very nice (better than traditionally served haggis)

B - usual but pushed the boat out and had two kiwis with my muesli Shock
L - smoked mackerel pâté on wholemeal toast with some salad
A marzipan chocolate
D - half a 12” pizza - goat cheese, pepper, olive and sun dried tomato topping, with rocket salad
Now eating lebkuchen

Banana and chocolate rice cake for lunch with half a kaki
Dinner..a slab of swordfish, tomato and onion salad , Canary potatoes and Moho sauce
4 squares of valour chocolate with nuts

I've had a Costa hot chocolate, Ham and egg salad and a yoghurt.

Currently waiting for our curry to arrive - it's half an hour late and I'm going beyond the point of hunger

B: yoghurt bowl (Greek yogurt, apple compote, blackberries, chopped walnuts & honey), slice of toast with blackcurrant jam, tea.
L: pasta with green pesto and parmesan, with side salad. A pear. Plum Crumble and custard.
S: spoonful of chocolate spread 😆
D: chunky beef and black bean chilli with rice

Just had a hot chocolate.

B - greek yoghurt and some flapjack, both shared with the toddler

L - tomato soup with bread and butter

D - breadsticks and houmous, then chicken Kiev with new potatoes and beans.

S - shared some chocolate with DH and had two glasses of red wine.

@HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend menemem sounds good, just looked it up and it’s along similar lines to shakshuka but with peppers added. I’ll give that a try sometime.

I need to catch up!
Thursday B: muesli with prunes and banana, toast and marmite, black coffee, orange juice.
Later: cappuccino, most of a croissant.
L: mushrooms on toast, tea, chocolate.
A triangle of brown bread with smoked salmon (posh nibbles after a carol service).
Supper: absolutely delicious slow roasted pork belly joint, perfect crackling which I have never achieved before in my life, perfect gravy. Roast potatoes, apple sauce, greens, green beans. Couple of glasses of red wine. Half a baked apple with crème frâiche. Tea.
Friday: B: granola with prunes and yoghurt, toast and marmite, black coffee, orange juice.
L: baked beans on toast, tea, a mince pie.
Afternoon after strenuous efforts with Christmas tree: tea, two chocolate biscuits.
Supper: a few of those nice little Italian crackers with green olive tapenade, glass of red wine. Black bean chilli, sweet potato and butternut squash dal, brown rice, barley and quinoa from a packet, spinach, lime pickle, yoghurt. Bit of leftover apple sauce with yoghurt and granola.

A bit of a snacky day today.

B - muesli, flaxseed, pear, yoghurt, pinch of cinnamon
L - the other half of yesterday’s pizza
An oat cookie, a few taralli, another pear
D - roast salmon, roast savoy cabbage with cumin, brown pilau rice, peas, rhubarb chutney
And later some more lebkuchen

Today - an apple, small portion of cashews. Then tonight is vegetable pakoras and bhajis with soy yoghurt and mint dip and some garlic and herb wedges. Strange combination I know but the littlest wanted a bit of a party buffet for strictly final

L- root vegetable soup and a cheese topped roll
S- popchips, satsuma
D- venison casserole, carrot and swede mash, runner beans
S- tub halo top ice cream (birthday cake flavour), banana, advent chocolate.

Bit of a weird day as ILs came then I went out for a child-free hour.

B: scrambled eggs on toast, orange juice, tea
Cup of tea with chocolate cake from MIL
Cup of coffee with lemon tart from MIL
Yoghurt with apple compote and walnuts
Burger king Whopper
D: Macaroni cheese and garlic bread
Several glasses of red wine and lots of chocolate

Thank god I'm trying to gain weight as not the most nutritiously virtuous day 😂

Breakfast was quaker granola and chocolate kids cereal (forgot what its called)

Lunch was koftas in a pitta with salad

Tea was morrisons salad bar (pesto pasta, eggs, bacon & chicken pasta, cheese, falafel, cous cous and actual salad) & 1/2 vegan pork pie.

Ovaltine and melon for snacks.
